Visited Blackhawk facility. Nice staff but office is small with very little therapy equipment. Therapy exercises prescribed were rudimentary (knee rehab.) No at-home therapy info provided. Billing department is very mismanaged. I was charged for a service in 2021 seven months later after an "audit." It's ridiculous to be charged additional fees several months (and billing cycles!) after treatment has stopped. Very poorly managed. read more

Bodymax is the best!!! I was really worried about having therapy on my arthritic shoulder because of the pain and not being able to lift my arm. My PT Joyce has done exceptional work on it. Body Max in Danville has been tremendous in diagnosing and improving both my hip and neck issues. Craig is terrific at treatment and suggesting appropriate stretches or exercises. Have been coming here for several years. Not sure why Yelp shows only the Pleasanton location. I've always gone to the Blackhawk location. Craig, the owner, says they have contacted Yelp about the issue but have received no response. My latest problem was a back sprain from over exercising. Instead of trying to give me a cookbook treatment (like another place did before I left them), Craig listened to my problem and tailored a customized treatment of stretching and exercises. Since I normally swim as exercise his suggestion of combining walking laps in the pool with swimming was particularly useful. The treatment sessions consisted of Zac doing a warmup massage and Craig doing stretching. Would highly recommend both. read more

I have been with BodyMax pre and post operation for an ACL tear. Craig is an amazing therapist. His knowledge and expertise is just too good. I trust and respect his judgment. He is very hands on, knows when you need to slow down or take it up a notch. I like and appreciate the way he pushes me to get stronger and more functional. He will put you at ease and you can be rest assured that you are in the best of hands. The support staff is equally great. Courtney and Zak are not only great at what they do but also patient and knowledgeable. They work on my knee extremely well and have always relieved the pain / discomfort I would get. Laurie and Michelle are super nice and have been very helpful in explaining what my insurance will cover and what I need to pay out of pocket. I have been coming here since Oct 2015 and never have I had 1 issue with my payments. In fact they would be so kind and request me not to pay until they have sorted out everything with the Insurance company. I have had 2 different policies so far and no issues with billing. The facility is very well equipped with a lot of exercise equipments. Everyone are super nice and friendly at this facility. One of the worse physical therapy facilities I have been to. After my 6 visits my injury was not helped at all and they didn't even want to keep seeing me. I've only been to the Blackhawk office. I must say the all of the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Scott the PT is great. Before coming here I was very skeptical because of a bad experience at another physical therapy office. Almost finished with my 12 sessions that was prescribed by the Doctor and have made great improvement in arm movement. I would highly recommend these guys if you need rehab and PT. read more

Came here as a referral from my doctor's office. Basically it was eerily a reminder that everyone is a number. 3 different people to see you, well 4 if you count the $$ collector at the front desk. 1st person in--- what are you here for... oh ok--- wait here I am going to give you a massage for 7 minutes-- um.. was that really a massage 2nd person in -- The therapist.... maybe a 10 minute treatment 3rd person in -- lay on this ice and leave when the bell goes off The issue is the PT should have been more about exercises/awareness and less about "joint mobilization" in which your spine gets pushed by fingers for a few minutes.... That may end up hurting someone... it sure did not help me... thus the 1 star--- I would also suggest that you work directly with the Head PT here.. and make sure you bring in (and they review with you) your X-rays and MRI's etc read more

Bodymax is by far the best physical therapy place that I have ever received treatment. I was a collegiate athlete and had 4 knee surgeries over a span of 5 years and received the best results from Bodymax. The physical therapists at all those other places would just hand me a list of exercises that I could've gotten myself off the internet. The therapists at Bodymax actually worked on my knee to break down my scar tissue and get my range of mobility to where it was before all the surgeries. After my 4th major knee surgery I was able to go snowboarding just 5 months later because I had gained almost all my mobility and strength back. The billing department was amazing as well. My insurance made a mistake, and said I was not covered for all my physical therapy sessions. The billing department tracked down the issue and got all of my claims paid without me lifting a finger. Overall, Bodymax helped me get through what I thought was going to be a really rough recovery process. read more

I have no complaints with the therapy, but their billing practices are a nightmare. They don't submit all the charges to the insurance company and then hound me for payment. Then when the insurance company does receive the charges, they make payment and the payments don't get posted. Not worth it. Backoffice is just pathetic. read more

All the complaints about this place is TRUE!!! My old PT moved so I decided to look for new one near work. Things I needed done seem simple enough, few knots on back. How bad can this place be??? Well....as bad as it gets. 1. Good luck making appointment bc no one ever answers phone and if they do, you are bothering them from their day of doing NOTHING. 2. Therapists are new grads and the appts literally last 10-15mins. Must be magical treatment right? Not really, left feeling more aggravated than ever. 3. Everything people have said about their billing dept is accurate. They are a nightmare. I was billed in full for my 10min "treatment" plus copay and there's also a made up "deductible" that no other PT ever charged me. It must be a special deductible for shitty service only a hell hole can think up. 4. They will harass you if you disagree with the deductible telling you its your job to bill correctly. There are better PT practices out there who's motto is to help. This place feels like they are just out to get your money and push you out asap. Why risk your health with a place like this. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Craig did the intial eval on my daughter while chewing gum the entire time- should have been my first clue to leave. The appointment lasted 30 minutes and he spent much of it talking about his own similar injury. Was shocked to see they billed the insurance company $585 for that 30 minutes! Follow ups, with a different therapist, were also 30 minutes with massages performed by aids. I asked for the PT to complete the massage and learned it had not been done. I asked why and was told "the PT did not have enough time". Wouldn't be shocked to find out they still billed for it. All exercises were ones she could have done at home rather than wasting time and money at their site. After several weeks I opted to switch clinics and the new clinic told me she was behind in her progess post surgery. Wasted lots of time and money with PT after the mistake of going to Bodymax. read more

I'm accident prone so I have been to several physical therapists over the years. I wanted to like Bodymax, but I just walked away disappointed. I found the receptionist to be rude and difficult when trying to schedule appointments. I work part-time in addition to being a college student so I was only available three times a week, I understand that is hard to schedule but to be asked with a "What can I do for you now?" and a scowl is no way to treat others. I was also kept waiting for over an hour for my physical therapist to come in and he offered no apologizes. It was an overall disappointing experience, I really hope they will learn to treat their patients better. read more

Don't want to give any star. Worst therapy I have ever got. 2nd day of therapy, I got injured at the place where I had problems because they use more weights on a machine & drop it on my injured leg. The therapist hardly spend time with me, her assistant was there most of the time. After all these I am having more problems than before & got new injury. BodyMax physical therapy is awesome! I have been a returning patient and would not even consider going somewhere else. Craig and Dana are true experts in his field and is truly gifted. He is what I would call, old school, he and his staff work to create a treatment plan that drives you down the road to recovery. The office staff is amazing and easy to work with as well. Upon entering you are greeted by Michelle, the nicest receptionist/scheduler you could meet and it only gets better from there. I have read some of the negative reviews in regards to billing issues and have never experienced any of these. After you check in the PT aid comes and gets you ready for your visit with your therapist who darn near performs miracles. The one thing people need to know is what their insurance covers, that is a patient responsibility and the office staff will gladly help. read more
