I suffer from degenerative spinal issues and everyone once in a while my back goes out. A good physical therapist can usually help me repair that in about 6 sessions. I was once referred to Pacer years ago. They handed me a print out of stretches and exercises, sent me to a table to figure them out on my own, and basically ignored me for the remainder of the "session". It's possible they've improved since then... but it was such an abysmal experience, I never went back. Shame, because there's not a ton of quality options out there. read more

Pacer Physical Therapy is the best place ever if you need PT services! Everyone is so friendly from all of the support staff and Physical Therapists! I had an Achilles Tear and they got me up and running in record time. I am a Crossfitter so getting my strength and flexibility back was crucial for me to competing again. Pacer physical therapy is what I would imagine to be the utmost, the top of the line for rehabilitation. I went in after a hip replacement and a negative experience at another "mill"-type clinic. I was quickly welcomed, expertly assessed, and started on a highly individualized program which exactly addressed my deficits and concerns. After only a week, I was seeing serious improvement in my strength, flexibility, and pain scores. I am now completely recovered, and I owe a great deal of this to pacer physical therapy. I found that everyone I worked with there had the same degree of knowledge and professionalism that you would hope for when you're seeing someone for the care of your body. The folks at San Ramon Pacer are wizards with their hands. They are helping me recover from a prolonged shoulder strain. 5 star is an understatement. The facility is clean and got all things needed to help get you back to where you need to be. The team here is what I consider a dream team! They listen to understand how and why you got to their practice . After a couple of visits, they gauge to see if all the dots are connecting and if not, they adjust. Allison and Jordan are rockstars. Have some appointments scheduled. This review is just for their customer service. They actually answer the phone and not have a recording saying they are busy and to go online to make an appointment. I have called twice and both times the phone was answered by a person. They are very polite saying if I minded being put on hold as they were waiting on people. Since I needed PT as I hurt my shoulders falling,and they were on a list the doctor gave me, I decided to just make my appointments with them. I have been to numerous physical therapy therapy offices over the years and Pacer is by far the best in overall patient experience. Ian, Tania and Lyndsey were my physical therapists over a 3 month time span. They were very knowledgeable in various exercises and were very hands on with different treatments and modalities. I improved my range of motion and strength in my ankle fairly quickly due to their expertise. As everyone knows, there are a million different places to take your business for physical therapy. I was recommended to Pacer by my doctor after I tore ligaments in my ankle. After reading reviews, I decided to pursue them. I called to be sure they took my insurance before I signed up. The receptionist said they did, so we scheduled out my sessions. I was being seen for roughly 4 weeks and just paying the copay every time I went- normal right? Then I get a call weeks after the services were performed saying that I owed them over $200 for a deductible (which they said was already hit)... I was very confused because they told me that I had already hit it and that I only had to pay a copay for my visits- which was part of the reason I signed up with Pacer to begin with. So, I called my insurance company and they said that not only had the deductible not been hit, they are not even in network with the specific plan I have... despite all my calling around and research, they failed to tell me that my plan was not covered and signed me up anyway. Yes, the specific provider was in network, but the plan I was on was not. So this whole time, this was going towards an out of network deductible. They then tried to blame the insurance company for giving them the "wrong information"... I asked Pacer to deal with this internally through their billing department directly with my insurance, but she said it was "already processed" and there was really nothing to be done. I asked her if there was anything they could give me in terms of a few free sessions since I'm paying hundreds of dollars for a mistake THEY MADE- after a few phone calls back and forth, the best offer I got was "10% off" if I wanted to come back... no thank you. Definitely not the right way to handle a "he said she said" situation. They lost a client because of it. Long story short, the insurance company paid for it since they know that wrong information was conveyed. Very unprofessional Pacer. I will be taking my business elsewhere. On a side note, the physical therapists were great and the facility was clean. Their billing department needs to get it together though... read more

Full knee replacement, 79 years old, and so happy I can't even begin to tell you! My therapist Austin directed a marvelous 3 month return to complete normalcy. His ability to communicate instructions in a compassionate manner, to read the extents of my personal limits, and ultimately send me on to a life with a new knee are to be commended. He pushed when necessary but in way that made me want to raise my game. not discourage and very much inspired me to try harder. The facility is squeaky clean and being constantly wiped down for germs, etc.. They all remembered my name from day one, were comfortable with seniors, had a great sense of humor, and were always punctual. I cannot speak too highly of this fine establishment. read more

I was suffering from some stiffness and pain after an auto accident and decided to go to Pacer. There were not many reviews on yelp, but two positive reviews were better than what I found on line from other sources. I was able to book my first appointment easily and was directed to their documents section on line. If you fill out the paperwork before you show up it makes the first appointment go faster. My first time there I got Danny as my Therapist. I was put in a private room and Danny put me through a thorough evaluation. At the end I was given a few exercises to start with. I kept being given slightly more exercises or work in what looked like a natural progression. The therapy helped me reduce my pain and get my mobility back. This is a family run business in that Danny and his wife are the owner operators. I never worked with his wife, but I was very happy with Danny and Joe. read more

I was treated at Pacer Physical Therapy for several months. Everyone here made me feel welcome and like a member of the family. I had the pleasure of working with the following PT's: Ashleigh, Heather and Tanya. Each PT has their own style and I enjoyed working with each of them. The PT assistants Jason and Greg are also amazing because they teach you the correct way to do exercises and encourage you to work on exercising at home. The receptionist Deseret is great! I'm so glad I chose Pacer again when I was having trouble with sciatica. I had been here before in 2011 when I had knee issues and they helped me then. My treatment was for about 11 weeks. They really made me feel like family and so comfortable. I totally looked forward to my treatments and chatting with my team. Heather, my PT, and her assistant ,Courtney, are gems!! Heather has MAGIC hands and she trully made a difference and I am now pain free! Working with Courtney through the exercises was fun, she kept track of my progress and made sure I was doing things right. If I had pain or difficulty, she would modify for me accordingly. Once in a while, one comes across truly special and exceptional people and Pacer in San Ramon is one of those places. If I ever have physical issues again (hopefully not), I would definitely return and recommend them to my friends/family hands down!! All through out my treatment there, I also observed how they worked with other patients and how truly wonderful they are. not impressed. people were nice, but turns out i was misdiagnosed by the pt and according to my doctor, i was doing exercises that have slowed down my progress. they have aides (with no schooling in pt) who watch you do your exercises and don't pay full attention to teach you how to do the exercises correctly. read more

This clinic rules!!! This is my second time getting treatment. First, right shoulder, now left shoulder. Nick is very attentive!!! He spent a significant amount of time understanding my condition after the recent surgery. Every time I come he spend a great amount of time doing ultrasound and manual therapy as well as making sure sure that I do my exercise correctly. He gave me great take home notes. When I needed PT earlier this month, I checked out several clinics and spoke with the head therapists about how they would approach my treatment, etc. Even though I have a bit of a drive to get to clinic, I selected Pacer Physical Therapy Clinic because they are completely professional at Pacer; since receiving PT at Pacer, I have been really impressed with the two owners, Danny and Tania, who are both excellent physical therapists--knowledgeable, attentive, skillful, and very approachable (e.g., they are excellent listeners and modify the treatment based on the input). In addition, their equipment is in excellent condition and they do not treat patients as if we are cattle, unlike the corporate-owned clinics I've been to in the past, where staff are overworked and the equipment is in poor condition.
