Several times she went over my spine with her elbow which was very uncomfortable. She also had no regard for my decency in terms of being careful and modest with the drape which left me feeling very exposed and made it very difficult to relax. I am of the opinion that the gender of your therapist should not matter when it comes to massage but if this had been a male massage therapist i would have felt extremely violated. I asked specifically for her to work on my scalp and my feet. She kind of aggressively scratched at my scalp and seemingly forgot about my feet and when I mentioned it at the end she worked on them for like a minute half heartedly. With places like this that have an obvious language barrier, it feels really important to do an intake form of some sort. At least so that the massage therapist knows what you want worked on and if you have any sensitivities.

I suggest dressing down to a higher standard than usual if you are accustomed to North American massage therapists. She is responsive to feedback. My aching back really appreciated that great customer service. The location is homey and the studio I was in was spacious with a nicely appointed sitting area. The massage table was comfortable and had an awesome armrest under the headrest that I'd never seen before. My massage therapist Kara was wonderful. She was easy to talk to and I was quickly able to communicate where the worst of my knots were. An hour was nowhere near enough to untangle me, but she was able to hit every major problem area I had asked for and she showed me a couple knots I didn't know I had!
