I called a few places and left messages late on a Saturday afternoon, trying catch a cancellation. I didn't find one, but Kelsey took the time to call me back after hours and helped me schedule an appointment for the following morning. My aching back really appreciated that great customer service. The location is homey and the studio I was in was spacious with a nicely appointed sitting area. The massage table was comfortable and had an awesome armrest under the headrest that I'd never seen before. My massage therapist Kara was wonderful. She was easy to talk to and I was quickly able to communicate where the worst of my knots were. An hour was nowhere near enough to untangle me, but she was able to hit every major problem area I had asked for and she showed me a couple knots I didn't know I had! Kelsey is wonderful!!! She has become an absolute angel during my pregnancy. Even though we live in San Francisco, she is totally worth traveling across the bridge for my near-weekly prenatal massages. It's easy to get to from the freeway, and parking is super easy (except on Thursdays from 12:30-3:30 - street cleaning). She is so affordable that it really enables almost anyone to incorporate massage into their lives on a regular basis instead of sporadically. However! Don't let her rates fool you. This is a woman who is dedicated to the practice and lives accordingly; she is affordable because she believes that money shouldn't be the issue keeping people from taking care of themselves! She is strong and soft in all the right places and at all the right times. She really takes her time going deeper and staying longer in the areas that need more attention, and her intuition as to where these places are is spot on! Additionally, I never feel rushed or hurried to leave as I have with other therapists that practice out of their home. After such a short time together she has completely gotten in tune with my body. This past week I left her place feeling like I was glowing and vibrating and could peacefully and gracefully accept any experience that came up, from the stresses of daily city living to the intensity of birth. She has such a beautiful energy, too. I always feel listened to when we check in before the massage, and she does just the right amount of checking in during, without any unnecessary chatting. Kara did a great job adjusting her pressure and kneading out all the kinks in my body. Normally I'm impartial to having my feet massaged, particularly because it tickles me, but Kara's hands were complete magic! The heated massage table and essential oils were a great touch. I wanted to share my very positive experience with Kelsey at Sora Therapies. I was immediately put at into a calm and responsive state of mind with her mindfully appointed massage room. Kelsey herself was a true gem, open and thorough. You could tell right away that she is passionate about what she does and goes out of her way to provide the service that your body requires. Kelsey is terriffic! I saw her while she was working in Oakland at a chiropractor's office. She has a wonderful touch and is able to find all those spots that I never knew were sore. Before I go ANYWHERE for a massage I ALWAYS read reviews on Yelp and Google and anywhere else i can find them. Well there isn't a bad review ANYWHERE for this place and for good reason! I saw Kara and she is AWESOME! I had a HUGE knot in my shouler blade area and I let it go WAY to long. So when i got there I could barley lift my arm without pain shooting down my side. Now I'm very happy to say that I can now type with both hands as well as life my arms! :). She sat me down and asked me about my pain, where it was, if I did anything to hurt it etc....I have NEVER had someone be so explicit about my injury! She had the right amount of pressure and she focused on my shoulders but gave me a full body deep tissue massage. She also found another knot in my OTHER shoulder and massaged it out (I had apparently been favoring that side!) Before I even got to my car I was texting my sister and cousin telling them that I had just had the best massage ever referrring them to Kara and Kelsey. read more

I saw Kelsey for massage when she was working at my Oakland chiropractor's office. After my first massage with her, I took to scheduling my chiropractic appointments around her work schedule. Kelsey has an intuitive touch, and is both gentle and capable of doing deep tissue and sport massage. On top of her wonderful massages, Kelsey is unassuming, kind, and easy to talk to.
