I kept driving by Base 6 and decided to give them a-go since I like HIIT classes and I workout better in group classes than alone. It's been almost a year since I've been going to Base 6. The classes offer a lot of variety. You are able to push yourself as much as you want or take it easy if you're having an off-day. I am probably one of the least coordinated people and I never feel embarrassed when the entire class is working out on their left side and I'm on my right b/c I can't follow direction. The coaches are very knowledgeable regarding the exercises and correct your form when needed. They also try to push me but know when to back off when I give them the stank eye. The class formats can sometimes be a little hard to follow, but the coaches offer great direction and explanation of the format. The owner, Brian, does a good job keeping the routine engaging and fun. There are always themed classes around the holidays and group challenges. There are familiar faces any time I show up to work out which makes you feel like a small part of a community. Even if you're afraid of HIIT- like classes, give them a shot, you may enjoy it.

I loved how unique and thoughtful this class is to not only stand out from others by include all mama's at different stages in their postpartum journeys, but also your baby (or without). Claire provided options for pre&postnatal exercises, as well as modifications if you are pregnant or wore your baby during the workout. Claire has great energy and very friendly! I look forward to attending her class again. Parking at LoHi is limited. There's maybe 3-4 spaces behind the building, but mostly it will be street parking.

The workout itself is interesting using different resistance bands and something I've never tried before. I walked in for class and was hardly/not at all greeted by the instructor and not really introduced to the new workout style very well. I would say that instruction was subpar. I was told to follow the person next to me often, critiqued in my moves quite often and not told anything about what I was doing right. It seemed no matter what I did, I still wasn't doing it right and was not given much encouragement. Btw, I don't think the moves are rocket science either. Let me preface this part by saying I did go to bootcamp this weekend, which was WAYY harder than this class, and I was still recovering from that. I was not ready to give it my all this morning but ready to try. The instructor actually came up to me and said "you're obviously struggling, so just stick with the [lowest resistance] bands." Thanks for the encouragement, dude! (Sarcasm) I'd say I was pretty annoyed with his instruction style, repeating the same commands over and over again. He didn't really say anything positive to anyone. If you like encouragement, motivation, or positivity during your workouts, this is NOT the place to go. Honestly I didn't like the customer service provided (or lack thereof) from this first time drop in. No thank you for coming in and trying it out, no acknowledgement whatsoever.

Review update since last posting…read more I have been a member of HHP for over a year now and I have to admit, I really look forward to these workouts. I'm shocked, I know! If you, like me, have a "squirrel" type of attention span and need constant stimulation and variety, this is the workout for you. The routine changes every week and yes, it is on the high intensity side of group classes. You will sweat, probably enough to warrant the quick baby wipe down before heading back to work if you can't take a shower. There is a beginner learning phase, so be prepared and don't give up if you feel awkward in the first few classes. I believe that is why they offer the free intro week, so you can go several times before deciding if it's right for you. Some coordination is required but not necessary as you go at your own pace if that's what you need to do. No one is going to make fun of you (in person) j/k. 30 minutes of cardio and resistance training is really key here. You will burn a lot of calories, you will see results. I believe I lost 1% body fat without dieting the first month or so I started. Since then, I've lowered my body fat by 6% - sweet!! I go 2 or 3 times per week and it really feels great, I have more energy and my endurance is has improved considerably. I have recently been going to the DTC location and it's just as great there as well. Whichever location you choose, you'll definitely get your workout on!

I accidentally came late, but no worries--the staff member there was kind and welcomed me in and explained the workout to get me up to speed. It was a great workout! A few things I love about F45: - the workouts are varied during each class, with not too long of a time per station/exercise, which keeps things interesting! - the workouts are varied from class to class, so different muscle groups get enough attention, and again, this keeps things interesting! - the music is fun and energetic, with a combination of current tunes and throwbacks, and the mashups are creative - the screens in the front of the room show you what you're supposed to do at each station, so you can truly "shut your brain off" and focus on working out rather than try to memorize all of the workouts in the beginning of the class and then try to recall them later in the hour (which is not easy at 6am or at the end of a long workday) This gym location was clean, organized, and everything was in working order.
