Small place to get random things. They have very basics and alcohol. Owners are really nice!

Just when I thought I had enough gifts and snack to bring home to the islands, my luggage said I had space for more! What does that mean and meant going back for more goodies! The store was neat and had everything that I looked for. The staff were also very friendly. In regard to parking, I'm not sure if any parking is available. The next time I'm in DC and in the area, I'm definitely heading back!

When I decided to take a chance one late afternoon to buy chicken thighs and the shelf was empty. The crew does not appear to restock frequently when this happens. This is an issue at other local Trader Joe's, but the checkout line wraps well around the store if you come on a busy day. When the store is stocked and you can move freely around the aisles, it is a great experience. Despite it being smaller than other stores, I still find what I need a majority of the time. Other items like a graham cracker pie crust or tartar sauce I have to go to a larger grocery store. The staff is friendly every time I'm there as well. It is always a pleasant and smooth checkout experience!

There were two people in front of us when we ordered a chicken madness, a grilled cheese, and some fries, and yet, it took FOREVER to come out. We were pretty pissed when we finally sat down to eat. Speaking of sitting down, there's nowhere to sit! We literally perched on the steps of a fire escape between a dumpster and a rat trap--excellent dining conditions. At this point, we were going to hate the food no matter what, but we can't even report that we grudgingly liked it because it was so awful. The chicken madness had tiny pieces that were flying out of the bun, and they couldn't even bother putting the knife through the bottom slice to cut it fully in half. The meat-pepper mixture had zero salt and there was NO pickle included (though promised) to have some acidity to cut through the grease of it all. Our daughter put away her grilled cheese because she was beyond hangry, but the fries were limp and sad. UGH--why would anybody willingly order food from here?? Oh, let's talk about the cookies. Do you like the taste of stale butter and feeling like you just bit into the greasiest cookie imaginable? That's what it's like to sample the M&M and oreo cookie. Maybe this place is amazing at 2:00 am in the morning after a night at the bars. But in the light of day on a Sunday afternoon? Two stars, and that's rounding up. Do not go here unless you want to reenact a scene from Waiting for Godot but make it Guy Fieri-themed.

Therefore, for that moment I felt like I was in heaven when I stopped in and saw the wine selections, my heart was happy, I felt like I was back home in Seattle, WA, and for those of you who have never been to Washington State, one thing you need to know is this, you can buy beer, wine and liquor very late at any grocery store, 7-11, gas stations and/mom & pop stores in and outiside of the city and that's why I was so happy to see Trader Joe's in DC had the option to shop for both groceries libations (wine). The staff members are always happy to help you find items, and customer service is always great, in my opinion. I love me some Trader Joe's, even if I'm not able to purchase wine at my local Trader Joe's, or not is still my favorite place to shop for my groceries since I eat the same thing I already know how much I'm going to spend on griceries. and I will take the drive. However, now I will make the drive to DC to do both when I can. After all, I'm a road warrior. Again, this is just my opinion and experiences. Love U!

I regularly go to the Glover Park location so am quite familiar with the layout, but I must say this location is spacious and even when it's busy, it's rarely overwhelming. I have been to other locations where there was a lack of friendliness and efficiency, and these qualities really make the difference. Trader Joe's also still manages to have reasonable prices in DC which I appreciate. Lastly, they have free parking which is always a bonus.

We came in, found what we needed, checked out, and were back out the door without any issues. The convenience and walkability were definitely the biggest perks. That said, my colleague has told me some horror stories about the parking situation here, plus the higher prices and people loitering outside. Luckily, we walked over so we avoided the parking chaos entirely. Based on my experience alone, it was fine -- but it seems like timing and how you get here might make a big difference.

Parking: You have to drive down into an underground parking lot. That's cool, but you had to spend a $10 minimum to get free parking. Bet-let me get my little list together and head in. Shopping Experience-the store is nicely organized and the staff is friendly. I easily found everything that I needed to get. Upon exiting the store, I asked about how to get out of the parking area without having to pay. I was told that I would need to use the barcode on the receipt to scan out of the parking garage (remember this later in my review). Parking: I made an error and followed someone exiting the parking area and they ended up going further into the parking garage instead of going up. That was my mistake. I was in an area with taped paper arrows. It honestly looked like the area that Michael Jackson danced in within the Bad video. You know the video-they were dancing/fighting. I knew I had to get out of that parking garage or I might've seen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Exiting the parking garage was its own thing. The exit bar is on a 45 degree incline. Hope you aren't driving a manual. I scanned the barcode on the receipt-that did not work. FYI-there is a separate receipt attachment with a barcode that needs to be scanned-not the receipt itself. Oh Safeway-what an adventure this location is.

Your cooking, baking, snacking, and partying needs can all be met here. On the side, the prepared food section even looks good. The alcohol section in the back is quite expansive. Sometimes I like to peak in to see what flavors of Eastcider or canned cocktails they have. It's usually a little different from other stores. The Asian foods section is robust, with a very wide selection of instant noodles and Buldak ramen! Even though items can be a few dollars more here, it's worth giving it a try if you need something that you cannot get to a large grocery store for. Plus, Streets is well spread out through the city.
