My favorite because they're the best. The staff is superb! They're helpful and enthusiastic to answer questions or just stay out of your way and let you browse. The tastings have a sense of community and it's fun and educational without being pretentious. The prices are great and the store is bright and clean! You won't see gaudy bright pink or green sticker stuck to the front of your favorite liquor bottle. This isn't a business to make money, this is a livelihood and you can genuinely feel that here. Angel's Share is the model all stores should follow. TLDR; a great whiskey selection with amazing staff and management, a proven track record of amazing picks that blow most "tater" bottles out of the water. They pick their own picks with a team of great palates and give back to the community. Whiskey tasting room coming soon! I travel for work all over the US and as an avid whiskey drinker, I have visited hundreds of stores (really, I even have a spreadsheet). AS is everything I look for in a liquor store and that's why I drive 90 mins each way to go there every few weeks. What I look for: I want to be greeted and acknowledged when I walk in and asked if I can be helped with anything. I want to find something I can't find anywhere else, and for me that's store picks exclusive to that store I want someone with whiskey knowledge to talk to me about their picks, to let me try them, walk me through what they taste and as a bonus to hear the story around the pick. To me the story sells the bottle along with the flavor. I want to know that the picks were picked personally and by folks with a good palate instead of just dumped on the store by the distributor and you are tasting the barrels thst no store or pick group wanted when they tried it. I want a store with personality, with staff that makes me want to come back. I want a store that's not just out for their own bottom line but that does some amount of charitable work to give back to the world. All this and more can be found at Angel's Share. Bridget and Sam are the managers and are amazing personalities to get to know. Bridget has an amazing palate and a wonderful personality to match. Sam is an awesome mountain of a man who will gladly chat with you about the picks there today and what's on the horizon. Their mutual devotion to animal shelters in the area and the fundraising rhey do with their allocated bottles is something more stores should emulate. read more

Just left this place without getting to purchase anything because this pregnant lady was watching me (came around twice). It's one thing to offer to help but nope, fixing party favors that 'suddenly needed to be fixed' and being your run-of-the-mill racist was more important. Liquor stores are a dime a dozen around here. I'll just buy wine for a dinner party somewhere else. Not worth coming here if ALL people aren't welcome. read more

Great place to go to buy some hard to find bourbon at a very reasonable price. Small markup, but def not close to full secondary or a museum which is what you find in DC. I'll pay the "tax" because they had bottles that VA won't see. Staff were great; tastings, discussed flavor profile, etc. Def will make the 90 min drive back. read more

I love this store! As weird as it sounds to say for a wine and spirits store, it's beautiful. When you walk in it is very warm and inviting. They have an amazing array a product, but it is not overwhelming. However, fear not! If you cannot figure out what you want, their staff is friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. I have discovered many hard ciders and wines that I have never heard of or tried before, thanks to the recommendations of the staff, and even other patrons. It is family-owned and locally operated. Sam, the general manager, has been in the industry for a long time and it shows. He is fairy friendly, as well as the rest of the staff. This is a wonderful local business that the community has truly embraced. And, if you were not sure are they gift to buy for your next dinner party that you attend, consider a gift card! Every town needs a place like Angel's Share. I feel like it's the Cheers of Wine & Spirit places. They are super personable and knowledgeable. I can tell them what I like to drink and they have tons of suggestions that wind up being perfect. They also give a discount for teachers!!!! And a few times they have gone above and beyond for me. This most recent time I messaged them on IG to see if they had the 2021 version of a beer we got in NY and loved. They said they didn't have it yet. A few weeks later I get a DM that they have it in stock and then put some aside because they suspected it was going to go quickly! Totally love this place. We went a few times at then beginning of the pandemic and they were worried how everything was going to shake out for them, but they've done really well for themselves and even expanded! Cute place, lots of selection and great customer service. Can't go wrong with making this place your go to establishment for all things beer, wine and liquor. read more

Our go-to, hidden gem, favorite stock-up location! They do an amazing job stocking variety; whether it is craft beer, wine, or liquor there is no way to leave empty handed...actually we've never even left without grabbing more than what we went in for. The selection is that amazing. Specially when exploring their craft beer selection both on the shelf (warm) and to-go (cooler cold) they promote seasonal surprises, craft specialties, and have really great discount section. The prices are less than other places in the area no matter if buying a complete pack or individual beers. I also really love that their website is kept up-to-date, allowing the ability to order curbside or just really to check their stock and if they don't have something...just reach out to them! They follow their facebook closely- they will put stuff aside, try to find stuff, or tell you where to go to get what they don't have. And if all that wasn't amazing friendly service wasn't enough..they host unique tasting events where they provide a lot of great insight on what to try. read more

They literally have everything you could imagine. Customer service is far above your typical spirit store and don't forget to sign up for their mailing list to here about new releases, specials and free tastings ( not so sure this is still offered with Covid). I've been roughly 10 times and on each visit I learn something new..I went last week looking for the tequila that Dwayne Johnson endorses and they had plenty in stock...it was recommended that I try Michael Jordan's next....I didn't even know MJ had his own brand of tequila, so go figure...if you are looking for a particular item 9 out of 10 I'm willing to bet this place carries it...and if not I'm sure they know who does or will get it for you. read more

I'd give this place five stars, but because some of the staff are clueless--lack basic knowledge about their products--I can't. One lady said there is no difference between the sweetness of Moscatos. That is unacceptable. OTOH, they do curbside, they have a pretty good selection, and they have a rewards program. read more

This place is a gem! The ownership does a fantastic job at keeping a really great selection of craft beer. When I say great, they usually have all the good stuff dropping from local brewers...sometimes even after it sells out at the actual brewery. They have been fantastic during Covid, offering curbside pickup. They have a website you can order off of, and pay through, making transactions smooth... They also are attentive to Facebook messenger, they will put stuff back behind the counter so you don't have to spend a lot of time hunting it in the store Good spirit and wine selection. I wanted to show my mom how much I love her this Mother's Day (all the way from Colorado) by buying her booze - Hey, it's an essential pandemic item right now! Anyways, Angel's made this possible and extremely easy. The extra effort they put into helping me out, like offering to write a note to include with the items (the handwriting was phenomenal!) and making a delivery on an off day because they were going to be in the area, really stood out to me. Sam and the bloke I spoke with over the phone (which may have also been him) were very friendly and helpful. Angel's Share is a great local place for all your beer, wine and spirits needs. There is a large selection of specialty beers you can purchase as singles instead of having to buy a 6 pack and being stuck with a product you did not enjoy. Their selection of bourbon is excellent and their prices are reasonable. The manager, sam chaney, is always willing to find a particular product if they do not already carry the product in the store. He has helped me find specialty items multiple times and then keeps them in stock to make it more convenient on my next visit. The staff is friendly and you can usually find a tasting of some sort or kind taking place. I have found some of my new favorite items this way. All around great place. I try my best to keep my business local and this store has made this practice easy to follow. If the staff doesnt know the answer about a certain product, sam chaney will find the answer for you. The angel share is the portion of alcohol that evaporates over time when being matured. You see you just learned something on Yelp. This store just recently opened not too long ago and before you go checkout the circular magazines as they have coupons that can be used at this establishment. The employees are very helpful and if there is something that is not in their inventory they will special order it for you. I am talking about common alcohol so don't expect to go in and get bottle of Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve. The selection is pretty good and like many liquor stores you will find something in one that is not offered in another. I found a tasty Japanese plum wine I never seen before and was not disappointed by it. I know some of you are curious as to what type of store this is. It is a liquor/wine store vice a straight up liquor store you may have entered where you open the door with metal bars on it. It caters more to the bourbon/vodka/wine crowd but there is a selection of beers to choose from. I will say not a large selection but they have some of the more common and popular brands. A nice clean store with a helpful staff but it can be a little tight between the shelves when there are more customers perusing through the aisle. read more

Bad customer service. My friend and I walked in, saw two employees at the register, no other customers in the store, & neither employee greeted us or acknowledged us. I've been going here since they opened. Initially service was great, now it's apparent they're interested in certain clientele. Their selection is okay for such a small place. I don't drink alcohol, but I use a lot in my cooking & baking, so they would've profited a lot from me. I love supporting local businesses, but I'll never return to this place.
