I can't believe i haven't already reviewed this place . . . . but apparently I haven't. I ve been coming here for years because of their fantastic beer selection, especialy craft beer. I love being able to buy singles and mix and match to see what i like . . . . or just have a variety. For the last couple of years ive been getting into bourbon and rye. This place has a great selection at good prices. I've even ran across some harder to find and allocated bottles sitting on the shelves. Today i went to ny very first allocated bottle drop. Pretty fun . . . . and not just because my ticket was drawn 3rd or 4th (but that helped) but because it was a good time and i met some great people. The staff are always friendly and helpful too. The Perfect Pour has the most amazing selection of beers and spirits I've ever seen! I visited The Perfect Pour looking for non-alcoholic beers for my mom whom had spine surgery a couple weeks before and because of medication couldn't drink alcohol. We had heard from people that non-alcoholic beers still had some level of alcohol in the them and that they weren't safe, but thankfully the team at The Perfect Pour educated me about the subject. They had a nice selection of non-alcoholic beers, however explained that only the ones that show "0 alcohol" in the label of the bottle are 100% free of alcohol. The other ones, still have a very small percentage but qualified to be labeled under that category. I really appreciate the time they took to the educate me and walk me through their different options. Besides the beer, I really love that they have an organic and kosher wine sections which makes it super easy to find organic wines. Overall good experience. I came here looking for a nice bottle of whiskey or bourbon and they did have a smaller high end selection But I was able to find something that suited my needs. I did ask for recommendations on non alcoholic wine and was guided to one that is 1 of the most popular I believe more because of branding verses taste. I ended up buying it anyway because I didn't remember what it tasted like but was no different than grape juice. Over all they have a very nice selection of just about everything including new and interesting stuff so it's absolutely worth a stop and the staff seems pretty friendly. read more

I love this liquor store. It's the only place that l could find in my area of Maryland that carrys my favorite wine. Mad Housewife which actually keeps me from becoming mad. I love the Sweet red and the chardonnay. My favorite is the red though. They usually have on the weekends some sort of tasting. We usually purchase this wine by the case. Love to keep it on stock at home. We joined their club and we always receive a discount. This wine originally came from California. So if you need to find the impossible wine list. They probably have it here. I will definitely continue to patronize this business as long as they keep my wine in stock. The staff is very helpful and friendly. read more

The wine choices were great, with some staff selections featured as well. There was a whiskey tasting happening when I went, which is so cool. I've been going to The Perfect Pour for years. They've always got a great wine selection, as well as craft beers from all over the nation. I wandered in last week to get some beers for a get together. One of the managers there basically toured me around the store for 15 minutes looking for beers that fit this narrow parameter of what I was looking for (sour, ABV above 7%, canned). Pretty sure I was being an annoying customer, but he was patient and super knowledgeable about what was in stock and came remotely close to my requirements. That kind of customer service had me buying more beer than I intended to, but I was pleased with my purchases. The Perfect Pour is a keeper I'll be visiting sooner rather than later. read more

In my opinion, they have the best local craft beer selection within the HO Co & AA Co area; whether you build your own variety-pack, select a shelved 4-6packs, pick a cold refrigerated brews, or choose from their growler/crowler tasting board you can always find more to take home than you originally wanted! Bonus perk: they usually host small tastings to try beverages (beer/wine/liquor), so sign up for their email list or browse their event page regularly! We have met a lot of great local brewers stopping in on Fridays 5-8pm and took home discounted 6packs Along with this bonus perk of tastings, their staff are super knowledgeable. They always point us in the direction of something new & exciting to add to our byo-pack (which is discounted by 10% if you fill all 6 spots-which is like buy 5 get one free haha) Recently we found an obscure IPA from a local brewery we never saw on tap there, found our long desired variety pack of IPAS nobody else in our area had, and took home a super cheap crowler to-go of a brewery too far to drive to..SCORE My only woe...hen building your own to-go pack there is no way to determine the individual bottle price until you get to the checkout, which sometimes means you end up with some super expensive can..but with so much variety the staff understands I don't want to pay $5-6 for one can when I can easily pick out some other variety for half the cost, so they nicely let me price check each item intermittently and make changes before checking out. read more

Indeed a Perfect Pour for all alcohol variety! Outstanding Service, Awesome selection of Alcohol and Great Prices!!! We visited this store after getting fed up from the pathetic selection of the liquor stores near savage area and boy was i surprised. It was a hidden gem very conveniently located in the Elkridge shopping center. The service is excellent. They constantly walk around and ask you if any help is needed for selecting and their recommendation is spot on. They have good selection of wine which they arranged by both types and region of origin. I asked for the recommendation with a price range and specific notes in mind and ended up buying what was suggested to me and it turned out to be perfect. They have huge selection of beer in every size and type and best part is mix and match policy so you can taste different beers in a 12 pack. They have amazing selection of growlers to try from as well. I was told that they often change their selection so it would be interesting to try something new every time. The day we went they had vodka tasting which is perfect if you want to try something before buying. Overall this is a "perfect" place to grab any variety of alcohol. P.S. That that is totally what this place is. Inside you'll find mountains of beer wine and liquor. They often have harder to find wines. I had an excellent moscato in Philly and this place was the only one in a 20 mile radius that had it on hand! I was kindly greeted upon arrival by the front cash register workers and asked if I needed help numerous times as I circled the store. Some of the shelves are really high so I indeed needed assistance. Two gentlemen were very kind to help me and made me feel like they appreciated my business. My review is geared toward the beer end of the store, and is based on several visits there over the years. The Perfect Pour has a wonderful selection of beer and is impressive in its scope. Good blend of domestics and imports; from local canned IPA's to premium bottled Belgian selections from the usual storied breweries. Solid inventory. The bottles are arranged nice and neat, and the store makes a nice impression overall. Ive never used the growler fill station, but it's a novel idea. On my visits, I have been immediately greeted by their highly trained and rather persistent employees, complete with their little headsets. They are helpful, but almost to the point of being officious. Give the consumer time to navigate the selection. You don't need to ask us continually if we need help. Let us peruse the offerings. Please. There are definitely some shelf turds here, if your savvy enough to notice them. Saw an Avery IPA there that was over 5 months old. That's ridiculous for a style known for crispness of flavors and bitterness dependent on freshness of hop volatiles. This shouldn't even be offered for sale. I bought a 4 pack of an obscure Belgian Quad there one time. Dusty bottles from a Trappist monastery languishing on the bottom shelf. Reviews online were glowing. I checked the date and it was right at the 4 year mark. I thought "ok; it's a 10% quad, no problem as these age well". Unfortunately I guessed wrong and upon sampling, it was a mess and clearly oxidized. Drain pours at $25 a four pack really hurt. Finally, it must be mentioned that you pay dearly at this place. I know it's Columbia, so demographic plays a role, and perhaps rent, but I've noticed most prices are 10-20% higher here than other bottle shops. I like the variety they have here, but this level of markup limits my desire to come here more frequently. The selection doesn't justify the pricing unless I am intentionally looking for something rare or it's an impulse stop. read more

Echoing the other reviewers here. Pristine facilities and selection aside - and it is a HUGE selection of hard to find beers and liquors - the staff is great. Knowledgeable, approachable, and clearly very happy to talk shop when they come upon a fellow geek ... made for a great first experience. Calling this place a beer & wine shop is probably not doing it justice - an emporium maybe? As for that selection - on the aforementioned first visit here, we came upon Mikkeller's Beer Geek Breakfast (yes, the one made with coffee from beans that have made their way through the digestive tract of a small jungle cat), and Ola Dubh scotch barrel-conditioned ale. Both of these are items that we had been searching for for over a year without any luck. But naturally, this place had plenty of both. Additionally, the liquor shelves boasted a number of rye whiskies, white whiskies, genevers, bitters, and other assorted goodies that you just don't expect a your friendly neighborhood joint to have. The Perfect Pour has one of the biggest and best selections of beer, wine, and liquor in the area. The staff is very knowledgeable and can help you try new things based on your taste. They have free tastings quite often; follow them on FB for easiest/fastest way to know about these tastings. Also, they have rotating taps in the back! They also post this "menu" on FB. You can fill a 64oz or 32oz growler....bring your own or buy one from them. They do have a members/reward program to help save a little bit once in a while on purchases, but I do wish the points were more weighted. It seems to take a long time just to get $2 off and I shop there fairly regularly! Obviously, this doesn't stop me from spending almost all of my "fun money" there. read more

I'm originally from California, where stores like Bev Mo' (Beverages and More) were the liquor warehouses of your dreams. In Hawaii, we had Tamura's Wine & Spirits. Each were specialty, full of imports and exotic flavors of booze. Since I'd moved out to Maryland, I'd found nothing but crappy little hole-in-wall liquor stops that have nothing but mainstream booze and baseball light beer. Maryland was very disappointing on the alcohol front (I still can't believe that you can't buy liquor in grocery stores in this state!!!). Then we found this place, The Perfect Pour, which we saw because it was near the Trader Joe's we drive from Glen Burnie to get to. This is going to become our one stop drink shop. The place is lovely, loads of selection, and there was a guy letting people try samples of beer up front. There was a quick-bottle chiller in the store, which was neat. We checked out the Sake section and a really polite, well spoken employee came over, introduced himself as the WINE guy, and taught us about sake refinement. This place even has my favorite Hawaiian Dark Rum! read more

This place is like the MOM's or Whole Foods of liquor stores. They have a really nice extensive selection; actively helpful staff; cool interior; and, higher prices. I've found some new wines, beers, whiskies, and liqueurs that I've really enjoyed thanks to them. When I needed certain things to make aperitifs for a get together I knew they would have them. In fact, I was able to find more than one imported crème de cassis. Not the most unusual, but still. Go figure! They also offer growlers here and a free chilling service, though I haven't used either yet. This is the BEST liquor store I've ever been to. A couple of my cookbooks and books on wine recommend having a reliable person at a store, which always sounded ridiculous to me... until I started coming here. The folks at Perfect Pour are experts in their fields, and won't BS you; if you want wine and their specialty is beer, they'll find the right person to help you. So many times I've come in, explained what I want (beer, wine, liquor), the occasion (birthday gift, something to cook with, a casual drink), and price range (fits the budget, willing to splurge), and known that I will walk away with a quality product. I've yet to be disappointed. Their best asset is an unparalleled beer selection. Craft beers, major brewing companies, local brews like Flying Dog, Heavy Seas, and even Pub Dog are well represented. Anything you want, chances are they have it. You can even buy individual beers that you pick out of a pack (watch out though; this can add up in price!) The wine selection and liquor are not nearly as extensive, but still pretty respectable. While I might have more options at Total Wine (formerly Corridor), I know I can get a reasonably priced wine or liquor here, and the employees will recommend some of their favorites and be able to gauge what I want based on my specs. There's often a free tasting or two every weekend, so be sure to drop in for those! I've never purchased any of their tobacco products, but for those who fancy a cigar with their drink, Perfect Pour carries those too! My boyfriend and I were in here looking for wines for Thanksgiving. The staff was helpful but not fantastically so. They were, however, acutely aware of how tight it is in there- stepping aside, trying to make sure they weren't too in the way. The place is huge and has a ton of selection, but when it's busy its practically impossible to stand in one place and peruse the selection. Should be renamed: The Perfect Store. This marvelous store could have been plucked outta D.C. and into the Baltimore burbs for all I know. Absolutely superb store with guys that work there who love beers and great liquors. I spent quality time in here discussing different beers and selected a gem. The selection rivals anything I've ever seen in D.C. with comparable prices. Stocked, neat, and meticulously maintained. It blew me away. I didn't get to check out the wines, but the Scotch and Whiskey area is pretty diverse. (I'm targeted in what I'm looking for). I definitely found some things that I haven't been able to find up through my normal haunts in Montogomery County. The prices are good, compared to the area. The people working seem to be knowledgeable. it seemed like they have quite a lot from the local area too. I didn't get to see the tasting area because I was on a time-sensitive mission, but I'm looking forward to going back for a real visit and updating my review. The Perfect Pour also has an excellent liquor selection! This store sells good wine too, but the wine stock is not as deep as the beer and liquor. Browsing the beers here is simply daunting. They have quart bottles from Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Japan and you name it. Craft beers from the East Coast, the West Coast, even from Schlafly in St. Louis. So much beer, so little time, so little room in my shopping cart! Prices are all over the map, some high, some low. Craft beer sixes are about ten bucks. Liquor prices are very competitive; I found a half gallon of Beefeater gin for just $27, regular price, not a sale. They will sell you a case of beer here at a slight discount, but the cases are not piled high here as they are at some stores so look for your cheap case of american lager elsewhere. Maryland 9% alcohol tax adds a bit, ouch. read more
