Sandwiches are so good, especially the breakfast ones! I got the Classic Bodega and it was so good. Their lattes are delicious. Counter order services but they bring it to your table. The outdoor seating is amazing, shady and not bad even on a warmer day with fans. read more

Great renovation on the building. Great location. I'm not gonna lie but it's a little young of a crowd for us, and the drinks are delicious but pricey. We didn't stay and eat as the band was starting and there were no tables available. Friday night place to be for the 21-35 crowd!!!!!!! read more

Marketed as New York bodega-style food, I was expecting a classic bacon, egg, and cheese that reminded me of the corner spots back home--but they've definitely taken some creative liberties. The vibe and decor are great, with a lot of attention to atmosphere, but the food doesn't quite live up to the theme they're selling. Menu items are loosely inspired by bodega staples, but don't feel authentic or comparable in flavor. Also, for a casual brunch, the prices felt steep--nearly $50 for a breakfast sandwich and a lunch sandwich. Not quite the value I was hoping for. read more

We just popped in this morning after checking out of hotel, we were just wondering around Charleston and found this cute little gem. K had a Matcha Latte and said it was better than Starbucks and I had the Hibiscus Jammer. It was refreshing and not sweet. SUCH A CUTE SPOT! I love that even if you sit inside, you're outside. I don't love the parking situation around here, but there is a parking garage at the visitors center.. Service and food was a little slow for a Friday mid-morning sandwich, but when we got our food it was really great! You could definitely get one sandwich and split it with someone and if you were feeling it, also get a side to share or have your own.. I really couldn't finish my sandwich it was so packed with everything great! I had the Burro and my friend had the Classic with bacon and both were great. My only complaint: why are the iced coffees and water glasses so little? Like literally maybe 3 sips worth which is kind of ridiculous to me. read more

Walking around Charleston on a gloomy afternoon, my body decided to shutdown due to a lack of nourishment. Lucky for me, that shutdown happened next to this awesome place. I had The Arthur Ave, and a Trop Hop at the recommendation of the bartender (I can't remember her name, but she was awesome). The sandwich would've been great on its own, but the beer put it over the top. If you're in the area, and in need of a place to grab lunch, this place should be at the top of your list! read more

Tried this place on a weekday for lunch and it was SO GOOD! I had a cocktail, the vegan chopped cheese sandwich, and shared home fries. All were delicious, 5 stars all round. The cocktail was pricey, but really good and no more expensive than all the other restaurant cocktails. The sandwich was $15 which I thought was high but it was HUGE. I could only eat half so saved the other half for lunch tomorrow. In addition to the taste of the food, the place itself is super cute, close to parking, both indoor and outdoor seating, and the service was great. I highly recommend! I will be back to try coffee/breakfast and maybe a salad sometime. read more

Bodega is one of our favorite places in town for a great sandwich! We love to sit at the bar, have a few drinks and enjoy our lunch. As a chicken salad purist, I was a little skeptical about ordering The Chick Flick, but our bartender quickly assured me that I would love it and she would even trade it out for me if I didn't! I ordered it, and have never ordered another Sammie again! The mixed berry jam and candied pecans go perfectly with the rosemary chicken salad and mixed greens! The strawberry matcha was the winner and my wife said it was her favorite matcha ever. We went back to get it a second time. The gropfather was ok. It didn't come out like I've seen and it wasn't a big hit. I think maybe it sat for a while. The server at the espresso bar was very good. read more

Bodegas The Lowcountry was fabulous. The Arthur Avenue was not. Do not get. If you can call ahead and place order do that. Phones were down so had to walk over and it took over 30 minutes to get my two sandwiches which is ridiculous. So again if you can call ahead and place order do it. Food and atmosphere were excellent. I got the chick flick, hub got the Arthur, and daughter got the dinner club. Unique twist on the sandwiches that was on point. Tea tasted good but was served in a juice glass that never got refilled. $2 for a few sips seemed excessive. There was nothing special about the tea, just regular southern sweet tea. Water glasses were a little dingy looking. I'm sure they had been washed but weren't sparkly clean. The service was adequate, nothing more. Way overpriced. Caesar salad with shrimp that was deep fried (horribly prepared and like jerky) was $17! It was small bowl of chopped lettuce and shaved cheese, crouton crumbs? And dressing. The salad was fine but the shrimp were gross - my daughter got salmon on her salad and also deep fried and dried out? The bill: Lunch for 2 was 2 coffees and 2 salads and it was $53? Bodega was great. I'm glad we came here. It was by accident, the bagel place we had in mind was closed so we stumbled upon Bodega while we were downtown. I got the classic Bodega breakfast sandwich. It came on a brioche bun which was nice and soft. I'd want a little more to my sandwich. It felt like they were skimping on the bacon and any seasoning or sauce. I also got an iced coffee and it was unusually small. My friend got the fried green tomato breakfast sandwich and said it was delicious. Service was great; no complaints there. read more

Enjoyed a delicious brunch at Bodega while visiting Charleston for my bachelorette party! The food and drinks were super tasty! Some notable sips we had were the Reese's hot chocolate (which had the sweetest aroma that you could smell from across the table), the Breakfast Spicy Paloma, the Vanilla Latte Martini, the Cookie Martini, the Bodega Bloody and the Teeny Espresso Tinis Such a fun spot super close to King St! Our only complaint is that there was a DJ and the music was so loud that we could barely talk to one another, even the person sitting next to you. We were a party of 6 so conversing with our entire group definitely wasn't possible. But would definitely go back and sitting outside probably would've been better, but it was raining! read more

Came here on a super busy Saturday morning and tried a couple different sandwiches. I tried the breakfast sandwich with Taylor ham and the fried chicken sandwich. The breakfast sandwich was nice and warm with a good amount of cheese and I loved the soft roll it came on. It got a little salty from the ham but nothing too bad. The fried chicken sandwich was quite delicious too. It had a surprising amount of spice to it as well which I enjoyed. On to the downfalls. I understand they were busy but it literally took almost 45 minutes for us to get our order. We only ordered 3 sandwiches. My wife got the turkey and bacon sandwich and they put a bunch of bruised/old avocado in it which gave it a very unpleasant look. Taste was fine. Overall I would come back because I did enjoy the sandwiches but be aware of a long wait. read more

My boyfriend and I get Togo here quite often, we had an appt at 1 right down the street so I ordered at 12:15 thinking it would only take about 20 min. I was standing by the host stand waiting for about 30 min and one of the employees told another person that food is going to take at least 45 mins. I panicked a little realizing we were going to be very late. I decided to flag down a manager and tell him what was going on since I was going to have to leave. I offered for them to just hold the food in the fridge until around 2:15 when we could come back. He said that was fine. When we came back, I waited a few min for my food and when I got our food, I realized they remade it for us. I was so happy, we were both starving so as soon as I got to the car we ate our food. I work in food and Bev so I know when things get backed up in the kitchen it's impossible to go any faster. The only thing I would have changed from this experience is just for the girl at the counter to tell me how long it was going to be. As much as I love their sandwiches, we would've just gotten fast food at that point. But the manager really took care of us and I tried the "Bleu balls" special and for the love of God, PLEASE make that a menu item. It was the best sandwich I've had in a longgg time and it was worth the wait by far! read more

We had a pretty good time here! It was about 90° outside and we got on the waitlist for "first available" which was 100% our fault because we should have waited for a seat inside. In this heat I'd recommend waiting for inside, because there were two big fans outside that were on some tables and I'm sure it felt great, but because our table was behind the fan it was too hot to be able to enjoy our food. They definitely need more than two fans so staff and can have one as well as all tables. Our experience probably would have been much better if we were inside! I would definitely come back to try inside, or in better weather. read more

I haven't visited the inside of Bodega, but this morning I had a breakfast sandwich delivered and had to write a review. It was either so amazingly good, or I was just wicked hungry. Soft yet sturdy bread. Fried egg. Bacon (crispy). Hash browns. Cheese. Siracha sauce for kick. Each bite was excellent. I can't even write complete sentences. Give me anything from bodega and im a happy person. I will rave to anyone about bodega, always just saying the name is fun. Grab a drink or grab a big sandwich you will not be disappointed. I usually go during the off hours because i have a flexible schedule so ive never have had a hard time getting a table or seating. i also walk from my house so parking isn't an issue for me but there is always street parking if you try hard enough or go to Marian parking garage on king. or the vistors center which is right next door. Talking breakfast, they open early which is amazing for me. i ge their "The cow" fire. Lunch or really any time of day because i have ordered it for breakfast before but their chick flick... is my favorite chicken slad sandwich i the area. i ate that for breakfast on my 21st birthday once.I have opted out before on the berry jam. However im sure its good i just have trust issues with berries and chicken. Grab an expresso martini, you will hank me later. They have so many other flavors too so can you rlly go wrong with a french toast martini? no i honestly dont think you can. People there amazing, always so sweet and helpful even when busy. My wife and I met two friends here for breakfast 9:30ish. Overall my impression is a 4 at best based on the sandwiches which were large and tasteful. The restaurant was not heated properly and my wife and I found it to be chilly. Not sure, it's worthy of a return visit, based upon the many restaurants in CHS. This is a small sandwich for $20 including 20% tip. It's like a sandwich for a baby. The pics on the website are deceiving, no one holds two halves of a sandwich together like that. Went here with my sister for dinner last night and adored the hole-in-the-wall feel of the interior; the Truffle burger - aside from being the only option - was terrific. We ordered it on a Tuesday and it was half off - so $9 instead of $18! Really great for families or people trying to save a little money but still have a great time. Open air indoor seating or outdoor patio seating is available! We went around lunch time on a weekend and it was pretty busy, but we were able to get seated right away. Great little spot, we sat on the patio. Dog friendly there was about 6 dogs to prove it. Great drink menu. Food menu was very limited. But I ordered the Chick Flick and a Miami Spice which was very small. The thing that pissed me off was someone got here 10 minutes after me and had their food before me due to ordering egg sandwich and I had deli. The sandwich is as sweet and delicious. read more

Sat down at small table to wait (customers in front of us did the same). Husband got up to get pitcher of water and hostess came over and said we couldn't have it and that she thought we were getting coffee to go. We got up and then she says oh it's ok. No it's not. Ew ew ew?!? I technically ate at share house but there isn't a page for share house? I ordered the "crispy" wings, she told me there was a 40 min wait for food. I got a lot of wings that appeared to have been microwaved multiple times. I felt immediately ill and sent them back. Waitress didn't ask if she could sub it for anything, just let me return it.
