The forager
Lizzie D.

I wasn't sure what to expect but was so pleasantly surprised with my experience at Bode Gray's! We randomly stopped in for lunch with a vague idea of the menu and ended up ordering the pesto burrata for an appetizer and the forager for a main dish. Both were delicious but the presto burrata really wowed me as the different ingredients and flavors they imbued into a relatively simple dish made it stand out! The forager was really delicious and unlike any other pizza I have had before. It was a bit rich with the goat cheese base but the flavors came together really nicely and I found it to be the perfect pizza to share. I will definitely be back to try the dinner and menu!

Delicious! A fun gem in Waconia. Kind and helpful staff, great drinks (and even a few mocktails). Highly recommend the broccolini and the Chicken Florentine pizza. Street parking. Multiple steps to get in, could be a challenge for folks with mobility concerns.

Chicken Parmesan

Always a 10/10 experience! Best chicken parm I've had. Cheesy bread and the pineapple Serrano wings are great apps.

Not really sure why this place has 3.5 stars?!? I was so thrilled when they opened and enjoy the ambiance and the food! Great artisanal pizzas and their downstairs is a little speakeasy with great cocktails! This is a place that is different than any other place in Waconia and definitely with a try!!

Fennel sausage pizza to go

Hands down the best pizza on the west side, not just in waconia! we love the Bianca pizza for how fresh it is and the fennel sausage pizza. We usually pick up to go so like to add mikes hot honey to the sausage pizza- makes it a knockout! The one time we ate in person, right after they opened I wasn't impressed by the tortellini- would t go back for pasta. Great atmosphere and great service though! Love the speakeasy in the basement too for a different cocktail menu and atmosphere!

Bella Ciao Pasta and Bar Ristorante - Fra Diavolo (GF)

Bella Ciao Pasta and Bar Ristorante

Visiting from out of town for work and heard this spot was good. I would not recommend this spot at…read moreall. The pros: portion sizes are huge, chicken tasted good The cons: waiter did not stop by the table once, my water was empty within the first 10 min of sitting there and i had to take my cup physically up to the counter to get water from them because i was so thirsty. I didnt see him once after that, he just stood up at the counter talking to the other server. The pasta was oily, they put so much cheese on everything that the oils from the cheese come out and my pasta literally had a layer of oil all around the plate. The mozzerella garlic bread barely had any garlic bread taste, tasted mostly like mozzerella. The mozzerella was also so oily that the garlic bread was just soggy 5 min after the waiter put the plate down. The price is steep, by myself i got an app and an entree only and it came out to 48$ before tip. Overall, for a spot with the reviews it has it completely let me down along with the locals who recommended it to me.

It should be noted that I've never actually set foot inside Bella Ciao Pasta Bar and Ristorante. I…read moreonly experienced it today through the lens of a takeout container. For lunch, I ordered the Chicken Marsala. You get to choose a side; options ranging from Alfredo Fettuccine to Green Beans to Mashed Potatoes to Spaghetti Marinara. I went for the Spaghetti. The meal also came with two breadsticks. Overall, the dish was decent but not remarkable. The highlight was the mushrooms in the Marsala wine sauce. They were flavorful and well prepared. The chicken itself was just okay. Without the sauce, it lacked seasoning, and the texture varied throughout the breast, with some parts tender and others noticeably tough or chewy. The spaghetti was good, though comparable to standard spaghetti you might find anywhere. The breadsticks, however, were disappointing; they were extremely hard and not enjoyable to eat. I also wish the Chicken Marsala and the spaghetti were packaged separately. Because of the amount of sauce, everything blended together in the container. I don't mind my food touching, but separating the items would make for a better presentation and texture. I do think other menu items may have more to offer. One mediocre experience isn't enough for me to write off the restaurant entirely, so I would consider trying something else in the future. However, I wouldn't recommend this particular dish based on today's order. Overall rating: 3/5.

Rocky was our server and was super friendly. He helped us pick out a wine to split and gave great recommendations on pasta dishes based on what we liked. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with shrimp, which had a subtle hint of lemon that I surprisingly loved. My friend got the pesto pasta and really enjoyed it as well. I'm already planning to come back in the summer to enjoy the patio!

Note, they do NOT take reservations so it's first come, first serve. Our original wait time was around 1 hour but it ended up only being 35 minutes. Parking is quite limited but due to eating later in the evening, we were able to get a parking spot in their lot. Broaders' has both patio and indoor seating. Being the middle of winter, we sat inside. It's not an overly large restaurant so be prepared to wait during busier meal times (like dinner on the weekends). Our waitress was very nice, answered our questions, and helped us select the perfect wine. Shortly after ordering our wine, they brought out a complimentary bread basket which was delicious! We asked for butter and more of the foccaccia because it was SO good. For our mains, we got the Greek Salad, Ravioli Di Zucca, and Spaghetti Con Polpette. WOW! I don't have a single complaint. The greek salad was flavorful with all the mixed vegetables and dressed perfectly. The Ravioli Di Zucca was buttery and delicious and the Spaghetti Con Polpette was probably the best spaghetti and meatballs we've ever had. Somehow we had room for dessert and opted for the Tiramisu. It was good, not great. I didn't love that it was cut in the shape of a pie vs. a square -- Something about that threw me off. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend going to Broaders' Pasta Bar! You won't regret it!

We arrived a little early and had the pleasure of sitting at the side bar with JP -- and he was absolutely fantastic. Warm, charming, and genuinely interested in what we enjoy drinking. I could have happily stayed at the bar all evening. Once our table was ready, we were served by Madison, who was equally amazing. She helped us choose dishes we'd love, and her recommendations were spot‑on. We were seated at a cozy little table by the window, which made the whole evening feel even more special. I highly recommend Ciao Bella for date night or really any night of the week. And even if you're just stopping in for a cocktail, go see JP -- he'll make your day.

We made reservations and were seated right away, which was a great start. The host was friendly, and our server was attentive without being overbearing--checking in regularly on drinks and making sure everything tasted right. We kicked things off with the buffalo wings. They had great flavor without too much heat, which I personally enjoyed. For the main course, I went with the burger, and my wife ordered the rigatoni alla vodka. My burger was filling, well-seasoned, and packed with flavor. The bun was just a touch on the firm side (I'll admit, I'm a bit of a burger snob), but overall it was very good. The fries, though, were excellent--definitely a highlight. My wife really enjoyed her dish as well--the sauce was creamy and flavorful, and the chicken was juicy. She mentioned it could've used a little fresh Parmesan and a bit more heat, since she likes some spice, but overall she was happy with it. Since it was her birthday they gave us a free desert and the server mentions the bread pudding which was very tasty. Overall, a great experience with good food, solid service, and a nice atmosphere. We'd definitely come back.
