Ordered a Lomo Saltado, and to be honest this is by veryyy far way better than un tal Mario's. The rice has a unique flavor that I really liked, presentation and vegetable cooked right on!!! Would definitely come back. By the way the place is clean! lol

    Lomo Saltado a lo pobre

I had the lomo saltado a lo pobre at Bocata Kitchen and it absolutely hit the spot. Under the egg was rice, and everything came together perfectly. The flavor was very good, the steak and fries were nice and juicy, and the egg and rice blended so well together. I ate every last bit of it. The passion fruit drink was also delicious -- sweet, refreshing, and very hydrating. On top of that, the chicken soup was the icing on the cake. It flushed everything down perfectly and made the meal even better. The neighborhood isn't the best, but it's close to home, which was a huge plus. I didn't have to drive out of my way for some lomo saltado, and I had been craving it all day, so this really satisfied that craving. The cashier was such a wonderful lady. She let me taste two different drinks and was incredibly kind. I'm a Black man, and she spoke to me in Spanish and encouraged me to learn. Growing up with Spanish friends and having a Spanish girlfriend helped, so I was able to hold a conversation, and she seemed genuinely impressed. Her service was amazing and made the experience even better. Great food, great service, and definitely a place I'll be coming back to. Highly recommend. I would also like to inform the owner to update the Yelp menu because the item Lomo Saltado a lo pobre I posted wasn't updated on here, just food for thought! Thanks for the great food and great service!

If you have not been to this amazing place, you are missing out! The food, the service all amazing! We drove over 3 hours to get here and it was well worth the drive! If you want truly authentic Peruvian cuisine, look no further! Can't wait to come back and try more deliciousness!

I came for the pollo a la brasa, and i was disappointed chicken was super dry sauces didnt help at all. So sad i cant find a good peruvian rotisserie chicken. The tallarin verde was good. The maracuya was delicious! The service was great we had a nice waitress. The place is nice but small and parking was limited. Will try and come back next time and try the Seafood platter.

    Very good food

The food is very good would come again The drinks are very good the staff is very helpful The restaurant feels very much like home

Saw an instagram post about this restaurant and was excited to try it. We get there around 3 on a Sunday, saw many people in tables with no food so I thought they were probably done eating and just chatting. Well, I was wrong!! We waited 30mins to get our drinks, soon we realized the people in the tables had been waiting to be served their food. So we decided to wait another 30mins for our food since it was super hyped on social media. The cebiche is by far the worst we've tried ever!! The aguadito is s soup and you would think it would be hot but no not hot/lukewarm, it was cold!! The lomo a la pobre was okay but I didn't enjoy it since the service was terrible and the wait for subpar food made it worst.

$3.20 for using card. BRING CASH

The unassuming charm of this Peruvian gem left an indelible mark on my culinary senses. Nestled inconspicuously, it may not flaunt the sophistication of places like Cabra, known for its enticing Lomo Saltado, but it far surpasses expectations in flavor and authenticity. Every dish bursts with meticulously crafted flavors, demonstrating an unparalleled dedication to culinary classics that your taste buds will undeniably appreciate. The service, though warm, could benefit from more efficiency, and the restroom needs a functional lock. These minor issues, however, don't overshadow the remarkable dining experience. I'm already planning my next visit later this month. Truly, I'm hooked. Bring cash. They charge $3.20 for swiping a card. Also parking is limited.

    1. Is the rice cooked in chicken broth or beef broth or plain water? 2. Is lard or crisco used in the beans?…

I'm not sure if the rice is cooked in chicken broth for the most part it is steamed rice.

I ordered the quarter chicken with rice and salad, and I was really impressed with the portion sizes. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and gave me the kind of authentic Latin food vibes that I love. The sauce was definitely the highlight for me--it was so good that I found myself adding it to every bite. The prices are also fantastic. For the quality and quantity of food you get, this place is truly a gem. That said, there were a couple of downsides. The restaurant itself is very small, with limited seating available. The customer service also wasn't the best during my visit. Since the dining area was completely full when we arrived, we decided to place our order to go. While we were waiting for our food, a table opened up, so we asked if we could sit down and eat there instead. We were told that because we had ordered our food to go, we were not allowed to sit in the restaurant. I found that a bit disappointing, especially since we had already paid for the same food as everyone else dining in. Overall, the food was excellent and definitely the reason I would come back. If I'm in the area and craving their chicken, I'd absolutely return--just with different expectations regarding the seating situation and service.

Even after being tossed in sauce, that initial bite has a perfect, loud crunch that stays crispy until the last piece. Honey Soy Perfection: The Honey Soy flavor is a must-order. It has the ideal balance of savory and sweet without being cloying. It's glazed perfectly so every inch of the chicken is coated. The Cheese Powder: Don't sleep on the Cheese flavor. It adds a unique, savory richness that pairs surprisingly well with their signature fry style. It's addictive. Quality: The meat is always juicy on the inside, which is the ultimate test for any fried chicken joint. Whether you're doing takeout or dining in, the quality is top-tier. There are a lot of different options on the menu, which was a bit overwhelming for my first time, but we decided on getting a half order of their classic boneless chicken in the signature Pelicana sauce, which was a delicious choice. The chicken was perfectly crispy and juicy, and the sauce was a great blend of heat, sweetness, and garlic. Everything was ordered on a tablet that is at each table, and there was one staff member assisting the whole restaurant when I visited on a Sunday afternoon; she was kind, helpful, and provided great service. I also ordered the Peli Shaken Fries which had a nice sweet and savory flavor that complemented the chicken well. The Kimchi Fried Rice was warm, cheesy, but ultimately a little salty for my taste. Overall, the space has a modern and cozy feel, and I can see this being a good spot to grab some drinks and food with friends.

I've eaten from there before. It's well cooked, juicy, with a good crunch, and light flavor. If you're gluten-free, like myself, you can only have two different sauces, and of course you have to pay for those separate. Not a fault, just an observation. Having any Sauce at all, is awesome... My complaint and withholding of a star is that The Only individual sized portions you can get is a chicken sandwich (I'm one of those dreaded * duh..duh..dunnnnn,* "Gluten-Free" peeps. After that the next size is half a chicken (to much for me to eat in a sitting.) and it Doesn't come with any sauces or sides. I'm not saying that's it's a bad price, for the amount and quality... It's absolutely fair. But an individual option, be it wings, tenders, something easy like that. Something comparable to the chicken sandwich, would be really appreciated. That's Star worthy to me. To add insult to a sour moment, I had to pay for parking... for only 3 to 4 minutes. While not truly a fault of the restaurant, it is a part of the experience, and should be noted. Lest others find themselves in a similar situation. And a final note. The manager was never anything but courteous and professional. He put up with my braty hangry behavior like a champ.

Thoughts? Woah, I never would've thought to find this in the middle of a supermarket! Well, here we are... Parking is fairly easy since it's... well, in a supermarket. The average wait time for ordering at dinnertime is 15 minutes, and all of it is made fresh. I enjoyed their 10-piece Soy Garlic Spicy and Original. Thoughts? Well, for starters, both were fried very well - crispy exterior, juicy interior. The amount of seasoning was perfect, not too salty and not too light. I'm a slow meal enjoyer, but I'd be lying if I told you I was able to stretch this 30-minutes... nope this was devoured in 10 minutes - bones cleaned out, too, not a single microgram of meat left. The only dislike I have is the inexplicable and unpleasant aftertaste that I can't quite pinpoint. They do have a side of radish as a palate cleanser, and you can rest assured that this is some real fresh chicken - after all, even feathers remain!
