I had the lomo saltado a lo pobre at Bocata Kitchen and it absolutely hit the spot. Under the egg was rice, and everything came together perfectly. The flavor was very good, the steak and fries were nice and juicy, and the egg and rice blended so well together. I ate every last bit of it. The passion fruit drink was also delicious -- sweet, refreshing, and very hydrating. On top of that, the chicken soup was the icing on the cake. It flushed everything down perfectly and made the meal even better. The neighborhood isn't the best, but it's close to home, which was a huge plus. I didn't have to drive out of my way for some lomo saltado, and I had been craving it all day, so this really satisfied that craving. The cashier was such a wonderful lady. She let me taste two different drinks and was incredibly kind. I'm a Black man, and she spoke to me in Spanish and encouraged me to learn. Growing up with Spanish friends and having a Spanish girlfriend helped, so I was able to hold a conversation, and she seemed genuinely impressed. Her service was amazing and made the experience even better. Great food, great service, and definitely a place I'll be coming back to. Highly recommend. Hidden gem right here! Was craving Peruvian food and decided to stop in. Parking is in the back or the street. Inside is pretty nice - air conditioned, comfortable seating, a waiting COUCH, fight on TV to watch while you wait or eat, and tables for a family gathering. I came for the pollo a la brasa, and i was disappointed chicken was super dry sauces didnt help at all. So sad i cant find a good peruvian rotisserie chicken. The tallarin verde was good. The maracuya was delicious! The service was great we had a nice waitress. The place is nice but small and parking was limited. Will try and come back next time and try the Seafood platter. read more

The service was horrible. Upon arriving the place was empty only one other table and it looked like they were almost done dinning . We were seated immediately with menus. Took her about 10 mins to come get the order. We ordered . Ceviche and lomo saltado. The lomo came out first then the ceviche . The LOMO was like having beef brócoli it even had a bit of a fishy taste on the salty side. Which made me parched . I asked for water as I'm asking her for it mid sentence she turns to another table. She brought out food containers no lids still NO water . When she brought the check she brings the water with the check. Still no lids . No doggy bag . The ceviche was good. Saw an instagram post about this restaurant and was excited to try it. We get there around 3 on a Sunday, saw many people in tables with no food so I thought they were probably done eating and just chatting. Well, I was wrong!! We waited 30mins to get our drinks, soon we realized the people in the tables had been waiting to be served their food. So we decided to wait another 30mins for our food since it was super hyped on social media. The cebiche is by far the worst we've tried ever!! The aguadito is s soup and you would think it would be hot but no not hot/lukewarm, it was cold!! I have been there a few times and the food is not bad, however the service is horrible. Today, I placed my order over the phone and when I got there they made the wrong dish the waitress was apologetic and said "we won't charge you for the rice since we made a mistake" I was not expecting that but appreciated it. A min later she tells me "oh never mind the cook said no free food". I was ok w it although a lil annoyed. I got my bag and went home only to open the bag and my order was totally wrong. I called and the cook!!! Yes the cook was very rude told me if I wanted my money back I better not open the bag so they can sell to someone else!!!!!!!! We tried this place for the very first time - only because our usual spot is closed. They are EXPENSIVE for the food they serve. The lomo saltado did not taste like it. It came with less than 10 tiny pieces of meat and about gazillion fries and onion. The aji verde had no flavor at all. It also didn't make sense that they charged a service fee (for using a debit card) for each plate/dish we ordered. So if we had ordered 5 plates/dishes, we would have gotten charged 5 different times.....ALL UNDER THE SAME CHECK. It doesn't even make sense, they only swiped my card once. They didn't charge me 5 different times so there's no reason for me to pay 5 service fees. One thing for sure, I do not recommend this place. read more

I'm kind of mad at myself for not trying this place sooner. The lady who helped me was nice. They have seating and it just gives like a chill vibe for the locals. Went with the rotisserie chicken, that comes with two sides. I got french fries and the rice. Rice looks super plain, but it was very flavorful. They probably cooked it in some type of broth. The chicken was juicy cooked perfectly. Even the fries were seasoned with some herbs. It was really good. The staff member helping us had no idea of what was on the menu, and could not really provide us with any help on our questions about the menu items. I love Peruvian food! My favorite Peruvian spot closed down during Covid, and I've been desperately looking for an authentic spot. I think I found it! I had the lomo saltado, and the lomo saltado dumplings, I forgot the name of it but, it's an appetizer. Both very very flavorful. There is available street parking, not much but enough. I was visiting Bocata and I loved the food, the place and the service was very good and the place is clean with good music, the prices are a little high compared to other restaurants, but what caught my attention was that when paying and wanting to leave a good tip for the good service they provided me, I was surprised that the tip is left on the card and not given to the lady !
