We had a quick dinner at Bobs place. Their soup and salad bar were awesome. Food was fresh and plentiful. My husband had the chicken cordon blu sandwich and he loved it. Chicken and blue cheese were plentiful! Although our waitress had several tables she managed them well. Their dinner entrees looked delicious especially the homemade mashed potatoes and gravy. You could tell from the interior furnishings that this place was a local treasure.

We were starving after striking out on finding anything decent to eat in Paradise, MI (ironically, not much paradise for the taste buds). So, after crossing the bridge, we stumbled into Bob's Place--and I'm convinced the food angels themselves guided us here. I ordered the Reuben, and let me tell you... this was no ordinary sandwich. The corned beef was made in-house--perfectly tender, melt-in-your-mouth goodness--not too salty, not too fatty, just chef's kiss perfection. My other half ordered the French Dip with au jus, and honestly, I almost considered a sandwich swap mid-bite. The sub roll was fresh and soft, the beef was rich and flavorful, and that au jus? Liquid gold. Service with Betty was an experience in itself--friendly, attentive, and with the kind of quick wit that makes you feel like you've been a regular for years. We came in hungry travelers... we left plotting excuses to "accidentally" get lost near Alanson again.

I almost hate writing this review, because I risk not being able to get a table here. Never in all my life have I felt more welcome or had food worthy of a 5 Star Rating. The ambience is just perfect if you are looking to feel at home. Taylor served us, and in a way you would have thought she owned the place! She takes pride in her craft, and we absolutely felt the best this year of it being the best dining experience. Taylor was polite, explained the dishes, and recommended items. If you do not Go To Bob's Place, it is your loss, and best of luck.

Do yourself a favor and make a stop at Bobs place tops on your list in this area. Food-outstanding -80% if their menu is homemade. Pulled pork chili was superb. Bloody Mary was crazy good. The BBQ Mac and cheese is a warm hug of deliciousness. And Joyce our server is one of our favorite people we have met while in Michigan, she is like your favorite crazy fun aunt you want to visit over and over. Cute atmosphere - we can't wait to go back again and again.

Looking forward to trying this local eatery.

Best Friday fish fry in the area. Wednesday music is great. The new owners have really stepped up the food and service.

Yelp should remove this as a place for breakfast. We tried to go there, but it doesn't open until 11:00 AM.

Service was excellent. The loaded baked potato was dry dry dry and looked like it was sitting forever.

The owner is very rude and doesn't know the meaning of the word "professional." So if you want to be treated poorly...eat there!

First off, this name was associated, but it was also called 'Smash Sandwiches'. If you search it on…read moreGoogle Maps, that's what comes up. I visited on a Friday, so it was a bit busy. There was a wait and the food took a bit too, but it was still doable. I loved all the options and the sandwiches are a good size! They come with a bag of chips, but you can upgrade to get a drink and additional side (I picked the coleslaw). I think I would have just been fine with the chips, honestly. The coleslaw was good, but not anything amazing. I thought my sandwich was pretty good, and I appreciate the dips and sauces they serve with it. The chicken on my sandwich was a bit dry, but the sauce helped a lot. I got to try a different sandwich from my friend and it was good too, but also a bit dry (oddly!). I'd definitely come back here again and I think this spot is a great option. The area is so congested, expensive, and busy, so I appreciated that this was different!

I was very surprised at how empty this place was because the food was so good!! You get a large portion for 15-18$ and it comes with choice of chips. I love the creative combination of flavors, works so well!! After eating American food all weekend, I was looking for something that stood out and Zachariahs was just what I was looking for! Had a hard time deciding between the Mighty Mac and Pistachio Press. Went with the Mighty Mac & it didn't disappoint. High protein and the Greek yogurt ranch was phenomenal. I should have gotten both to be honest because I can't stop thinking of the pistachio press. Lol

The building is small and unassuming. Bring your appetites because portions are very generous. Today I had the corned beef hash with red skin potatoes, onion and 2 eggs served with camp toast. All the flavors were amazing, the corn beef was tender, lean and the combination of flavors were very good, probably one of the best corn beef hash dishes I have ever had. My wife had the Iron skillet scramble with 2 eggs, sausage, american fries, cheese and it also came with camp toast and fresh raspberry preserves. And of course what breakfast is complete without cinnamon rolls. :) We highly recommend the cinamini's served in a small iron skillet with bourbon vanilla cream cheese glaze. Our server Colette was very friendly, and attentive and took good care of us. If your looking for a breakfast destination, check out Brutus Camp Deli. There might be a wait time, but it's definitely worth it!
