My husband & I came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning around 10am...had to wait ~15 minutes for a table for 2...not bad. The lady who seats you is very friendly & full of energy...definitely a nice welcome to vacation. Our waitress was also very nice & attentive. Breakfast - awesome! I was most excited to see scrapple on menu - found out they do use Rappa Scrapple & not some knock off & the chef knows how to cook it! Seven of us came here for breakfast, only waited about 20 minutes. Service was quick and efficient. We got coffee (okay), three stack pancakes (average), country fried steak (very good), felicias burrito (great!), garbage omlete (incredible), biscuits and gravy (phenomenal), sunny side up eggs (perfectly done), corn beef hash (good). Good stuff. We are at one as we were heading out of town and was expecting the rude staff entertainment. We got the opposite. Staff greeted us, and waitress explained the specials. I recommend the daily specials, great price. We noticed a crab meat theme. Son had the crab meat and corn soup and he enjoyed it. Very disappointed in the place. Service was ok but our food was cold and they are not that busy for the food to be cold. It's November not the middle of the season. Ordered breakfast, sausage gravy no sausage and u know when gravy is cold it looks solid like, yep it was cold like that, fried potatoes were cold, and bf over medium eggs we not done correctly. This is THE BEST place to get "all you can eat" crab legs and shrimp"! The crab legs are made to order each and every time. So you are not eating legs that have been sitting under a light in a buffet. The servers are FANTASTIC, and Bob himself always makes it out into the dinning room to chat. I moved to the Outer Banks area in February, and I've tried many places for breakfast. Up to now, I haven't been impressed. That changed the first time I went to Bob's Grill. Not a good experience. The staff was unfriendly. The waitress would sigh and seem agitated when we asked her for simple things like refills on drinks and coffee creamer. Just another dive diner on the OBX. We ordered biscuits and gravy and a special seafood "benedict". Both meals were pretty gross. The biscuits were undercooked, the gravy was flavorless, and tepid. For the "benedict" they used over easy eggs (one of which was served over hard), served on an untoasted store bought and split English muffin, covered in crab meat and a odd tasting hollandaise. I don't understand why breakfast places here call chopped breakfast potatoes hash browns, (hash browns mean shredded fried potatoes) but that isn't unique to Bob's, but the fact that they don't offer hot sauce is very odd. I would recommend stack em high if you like biscuits and gravy. read more

Must have caught them on a bad day when we came to Bob's earlier this week, or maybe we should have had breakfast. My smothered chicken sandwich was decent and the hash browns were pretty good (although Stack 'Em High's next door were better), and my daughter seemed to enjoy her wrap, but my wife's chicken fingers looked to have been fried in grease that hadn't been changed in a week or so. This will be one of our must stops every trip! The portions are HUGE. They have a pretty big selection of food. It's just a classic diner. Nothing fancy, but comfortable, delicious and filling. We all had breakfast items (they're only open for breakfast and lunch, I think) and no one in our party of 6 had a complaint except of how much food we were wasting! They have scrapple (I'm not a fan), but the few of us who got it loved it and apparently it's not something you can get everywhere. Plus, it's reasonable.
