Avoid using their services. I brought in my brand-new scrub tops and bottoms for cleaning, pressing, and to have my nursing school patch sewn onto the top. They assured me everything would be ready by today (08/27/24), but that wasn't the case. We had to call three separate times because, during the first two calls, the staff couldn't confirm whether my scrubs were ready. They even asked if they could extend the deadline to Wednesday, which I couldn't accommodate. By the third call, they informed us that they only stitched on the patches and hadn't cleaned or pressed the scrubs, despite having them since 08/24/24. When I finally received my scrubs, I noticed that they had initially sewn the school patch crooked and then attempted to fix it, leaving holes in my brand-new scrub top from the previous stitches. On top of that, the patches were tarnished. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I will never return to this place; it was a huge mistake that I won't repeat. DO NOT GO HERE!! THEY WILL MESS UP YOUR CLOTHES AND BLAME YOU FOR IT!! I brought a sweater that smelt like alcohol that I had brought from Mexico the alcoholic didn't get on it but it smelt like it, when they returned it back to me it had 3 small holes. Small but visible. She proceeded to say it didn't happen at her shop, that I brought the sweater with the holes in it, and that it was my fault like she's told me before with the few encounters I've had at her shop. Claims they have pictures but when I ask for them they never have them. Mind you This sweater was roughly 80 to 90 bucks and sold out at the shop. There was no way I could get it again. When I brought the sweater to her it still had the tags on it because it was brand new. I didn't even get to use it NOT EVEN ONCE. When I came in today to pick it up they stitched it up and just looked ugly, you can see the stitching it's a darker color than the sweater by a bit it just looks bad.. She picks a fight starts elevating her voice at me when I am calmly speaking to her telling her about the issues snatches the sweater and tells her husband to pay me the 80 bucks but that I ain't taking the sweater which i am okay with. Because when I brought it in it was in perfect conditions with the tags on. Mind you her husband is telling her to stop as well. She then tells me I can never come back and bla bla bla. Tells her husband to pay me because she's not paying me nothing. I look at her husband and tell him not to pay me. She gives me back the sweater with a smirk on her face and like she's throwing it at me. I take the sweater and just leave. I wished her nothing but the best. So many people I have recommended here even though I've had bad encounters with SPECIFICALLY the "owner" Maria. Just sucks she would do something like this. Definitely do not recommend this place at all ANYMORE! You can't run a place with a shitty as attitude if all you wanna do is pick a fight with YOUR costumers and CANT take accountability when your shop messed up a couple of times. If I was to tell y'all about everything she's done. Yikes. You'd definitely wouldn't use their services. Ok went here to have comforter Dry cleaning which I've done at other places before but Bobs has no idea what they are doing. I picked up my item and got home to check it out they ruined the comforter Holes all over the place Large rip That was repaired Very badly and the color was White came back Cream color. The comforter was Wet cleaned and put into a Hot dryer and burned the Down feathers so bad that it's not soft anymore but brittle to the touch Fabric was crunchy. This Comforter is Ruined $400 gone due to lousy work Never will I bring anything or recommend this cleaner Stay away if you value your clothes and other items. read more

I used to bring my comforters to them, because they were easy to go to when I was going to pick up my husband from work. I liked the work they did so much, that I stopped going to Norge in El Cerrito, another good cleaner. I didn't go this last time, because another cleaning company had a deal and it took Norge a bit of time to get back to me with an estimate. I have been bringing my dresses to get altered here since December. I stumbled across them when I was looking for a last minute place to alter a dress for me literally that needed to be done in a matter of two days. Maria the owner and Reyna the seamstress were able to accommodate me. And charged what I thought was a total steal. Reyna made me feel really comfortable and would joke saying I wasn't too short/small the dress was just too big. Lol I loved her sense of humor. Since then I've taken a few more for my photo shoots. Most recently I have my best friends Indian wedding. All the outfits were so big and the Indian stores charged an arm and a leg to alter it. I brought it to Reyna and to my surprise she was leaving. Maria and her husband made me feel extremely comfortable and assured me everything would be done in time. I even received her cell phone number Incase I couldn't get a hold of them. I received three outfits fully altered and paid what the Indian place was trying to charge me for one outfit and half. I absolutely love them here and will continue to bring my stuff. read more

My family and I have been coming here for several years and I've always been happy until a week ago. I recently dropped off two blazers and when I arrived the owner was working behind the counter along with another younger gentleman neither of them greeted or acknowledged me. The owner's wife came out and took my garments and apologized for them not wearing masks. She logged my information it into their system and asked me to come back a few days later. When I returned a day later than my ticket said my garments would be ready and the owner couldn't find my them using their computer system. Finally the owner's wife was able to locate them in the back and they informed me they were not ready, but asked me to wait a few minutes. I waited and they packed everything up and I was on my way. I figured no big deal they must have been busy. I was happy with the way my blazers were cleaned and pressed and it was only $18 for both, so I drove back home and picked up another blazer that needed dry cleaning and I headed back. When I dropped it off the owner said it would be $9 and asked me to return a few days later and again he logged everything into his system. When I returned a few days later I handed the gentleman at the counter my ticket and he couldn't locate my blazer in his system. The owners wife came out and was able to locate it and then he rang me up and said I owed $20.80. I asked if there was a mistake as I had just paid $18 for two blazers a few days ago and he seemed confused and looked in the system. The owners wife quickly came to the counter and said that because the blazer was a designer brand it was going to cost more. I informed her that her husband had quoted me $9 a few days ago and she replied; "well I don't know what he told you, but this is my price for designer clothes." I replied; "wow, so you took my garments and quoted me a price, but then you looked at the label and decided to charge more based on the label?" She responded; "It cost to wear designer clothes." DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. Like so many yelpers have posted for different establishments in the past, "If I could rate this place zero stars, I would!" I asked my mom to drop off some items that needed to be dry cleaned. I work in SF so my hours don't work well with theirs. They gave my mom an incomplete estimate because the wife of the owner determined a tweed jacket with a suede collar needed to go to an external, specialized cleaner and they won't know the price until that place has an estimate. Fine-- that happens. My mom expressly told the wife to give her a call when she gets it to let her know if we wanted to get that done. She gave my mom a call back-- my mom missed it by a second and called immediately back. No answer. The next time the cleaners call is to let us know that the item is ready and it cost $25. They didn't let us know ahead of time, they never called my mother back. NOTHING. I decided that I liked the jacket too much to just let them have it. I went to the cleaners-- I didn't have a ticket but I saw they are electronic, so they MUST have either my name or my mother's attached to the item, right? WRONG. The guy asked me to describe the item and I do. I see him go behind the first rack and find it immediately. I asked him, "who's name did you have it under?" twice. "I don't know, my wife did it," he said. I told him that someone called my mom specifically about this jacket so the item and my mother's name must be attached somewhere. "My wife did it-- she's not here. It's a long story." YEAH, LONG STORY. Your wife went ahead with an order that she wasn't supposed to do and you don't even offer to give a discount. They're ELECTRONIC. They pulled up every person with my last name on their computer and they couldn't find us? They couldn't give us a call back to go ahead with the cleaning order? What self-respecting establishment does a service without giving an estimate WHEN EXPLICITLY ASKED? What place once getting that estimate just GOES AHEAD with the order WITHOUT verifying with the customer who will actually be PAYING for the service? Not this place. Go somewhere else. it was a thursday night. i was going thru every tailor places in richmons and all of them closed at 6 or 7 pm. and I needed my birthday dress to be tailored for a friday night which was the next day. i saw this place and i called them right away hoping that they would answer and they did! i explained my situation and i admit i sounded desperate. i was also coming from concord. the owner said that his wife will come and get my measurements at 7:30. mind you, they close at 7 pm. i got there at 7:15 pm, and him and i talked till his wife came. he basically taught me how dry cleaning works ( no knowledge of it ) and his family. it felt like i was talking to my grandfather. :) plus! they only charged me low so i will forsure leave them a good tip for the good service and for making me feel at home. :) I forsurely recommend. read more

Is it weird to enjoy going to the dry cleaners? I actually look forward to my visits to Bob's! First of all, its on 23rd Street - always an adventure. Sandwiched between the Panaderia and the torta take -out, the place smells fantastic. The husband and wife owners are the nicest people in town and go out of their way to give you the best customer service. Today when I was picking up my cleaning I asked if there was a nearby fax place - of course! right next door at the Panaderia! Then, to my horror, I discovered that I had locked my keys in my car...so the owner said 'wait for my husband to get here and he can drive you to your house to get your spare set of keys. WHAT? Like I said, the nicest people in town! But back to the dry cleaning...We have loads of vintage clothes and you can't take those just anywhere. I have been coming to 'Bob"s' for YEARS and trust them to take great care with our stuff. Plus they do alterations! I HELLA love Richmond and this place is just one more reason why.
