Pictures - Six framed photographs are placed on a windowsill in front of a glass block window. The images include group photos, a portrait of a smiling man in a suit, and pictures of people at a restaurant and a store. The window allows natural light to illuminate the display, and a wheelchair accessible sign is visible below the windowsill.

I've tried their other location on N. Milwaukee Ave but I wanted to try the original store. The guy behind the counter was jovial and nice. I ordered the Italian Beef, fries and a soda. As this is a cash only place, I was grateful I had the cash on me. There is an ATM just in case you need it. The dining area is mostly stool sitting, as I'm short I couldn't get comfortable. I hate when my legs dangle with no bar. I received my dipped Italian beef and it had a nice garlic and a little peppery taste. The meat was extremely tender and the peppers had a good heat to them. The fresh cut fries were done perfectly. Nice and fluffy with a little crisp. The sandwich was devoured in no time. I actually wanted another, but didn't want to be greedy.

    Italian beef. Good stuff!

Heard about the reputation and lived up to it. Was a very good Italian beef. I will go back again.

They won Chicago's best Italian beef and it was delicious. We moved from the area so we do t get over there that much and cannot wait until the second location opens up at Devon and Milwaukee . Had a beef wet and a cheese dog! Love the fires

About the best thing I can say about Bob-o's was that it was clean. Otherwise: Not the best Italian beef as they claim Parking was minimal Cash-only Customer service was not good Prices were high for what you get Food was average at best

Soggy - A cookie with a rough, cracked surface and uneven texture is placed on crinkled wax paper. The cookie appears to be partially eaten, with some bite marks visible. The wax paper has small crumbs and dirt particles scattered around, and the background includes a wooden surface and a dark object.

I was so very disappointed with the food I got. I went there yesterday (Monday) and got a chardog, a soggy, and 2 tamales. Both the chardog and tamales looked and tasted like they were leftover from Saturday because they were so dried out. The soggy was that but had no taste other than being hot (spicy) with way too much oregano. I wish I would have taken a picture of the chardog but I was hungry and with the fries and Pepsi I was able to get it down. The only thing I enjoyed were the fries. I had a little wait so couldn't understand why my food was so cold. Never Again!

Outstanding Chicago-style Italian beef. Authentic, original and worthy of the praise and loyalty heaped upon it by locals. Ask for your beef hot wet and sweet if you want some added bell peppers. Or any of the other delicious fare on the menu. Don't forget to get an order of fries for you and perhaps two friends to share. This an absolutely bare bones restaurant with immovable stools dotting a counter around the perimeter of the dining area. There are no bathrooms and a couple of picnic tables in front. This is really a take-out place but the food is great and the staff are responsive.

Bob-Os has the best ITALIAN BEEF in Chicago. I got it extra wet with mozzarella and hot peppers. It was fantastic.

Best Italian Beef in Chicago. It's worth the drive up Irving Park Rd. It's located in a cool neighborhood with plenty of seating. The staff was very friendly.

Okay it's been a while and I'll post this at the risk of repeating myself. Today I popped in after a morning ride on the Harley. I had a taste for one of Bob O's always tasty cheese burgers. I gotta tell ya , it sure was good but it usually always is :) I don't know where they get the meat from but it's so good. Littered with some grilled onions, lettuce, and tomato it hit the spot Washed it down with a diet soda that also tastes fresh Now I got to hike my leg back over that Harley on a full stomach and ride off into the sunset. All kidding aside , thanks guys for taking care of my cheese burger fix Stay safe All

Awesome value! Large portions of delicious food! Italian beef was fantastic- moist, flavorful beef! Chili and tamales were tasty! The fries were fantastic - crispy and fresh!

I've had better beefs and the guy at the front counter was kind of rude. I'm not sure if that's the neighborhood vibe they are trying to make but I was waiting for my food and he was the same to other customers. There was a man with a leg issue that ordered some food and then asked if he could use the restroom and was told he couldn't and then had to cancel his order to find a restroom elsewhere.

Chicago style hot dogs minus sport peppers and fresh cut fries.

Not the best beef at all. Fattier cut of beef than Johnnie's (which is the actual best beef) and had a funky taste. Fries are salted well.

They really have the best beef sandwiches.. I drive all the way in from Grayslake well worth it, and I greatly enjoyed their cheeseburgers.

This is an absolute 5 star place for me. I have been here probably 20-30 times before, yet have not…read morereviewed it. Maybe because it already receives so much positive attention, it hardly needs my two cents. But after this latest visit, I decided to "pile on" with my love for this place. First, I must alert you to pay attention to their hours, because they are closed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I kicked myself at least once, when I made the 40 minutes drive from home, just to find that I forgot that they were closed that day. This store is a double threat - offering a great take home Italian deli with a plethora of fresh and frozen items for you to prepare at home. This is also a great spot for lunch, with legendary sub sandwiches, and an array of hot dishes to choose from. I often do both. On this visit, from the deli, I picked up some of their marvelous, thinly sliced breaded eggplant, which I always get when I'm there. I bring some to my ex-wife and daughter who love it as well. Just give it a quick cook in the oven, and it's delicious. I also got some of their marvelous breaded potato salad, which is old-fashioned homemade style. From the hot bar, I got a couple of Italian sausage and some meatballs. I buy these ready to eat, but take them home to use for dinners later. That way I don't have to cook them. Obviously, they offer both meatballs and Italian sausage in fresh or frozen as well, which I get when I'm preparing my mom's spaghetti recipe. This time, I decided to try a quart of their frozen Nottoli homemade marinara, which I hadn't tried before. So delicious! I had pasta and spaghetti with sausage that night, and pasta and meatballs the next. On my various trips here, besides the Italian sausage that they are famous for, as well as the meatballs, I like their olives and other salad items, the sandwiches, brocciole, and many other hot Italian dishes for lunch. The rigatoni w/vodka sauce is a killer. Finally, the people have always been wonderful , which is very important to me. Despite being busy, it is well organized and you're in and out of there in no time (or you can sit at the table inside if you want to eat in). The prices are extremely reasonable, and I'm always pleased about the value I get for such a good price. I apologize for no pictures on this review. I always just seem to be focused on my own mouth watering choices, as opposed to a Yelp review when I come here.

At first, I was a little unsure how it worked since there's a service counter, but staff quickly greeted us and showed us to a table. Table service was a pleasant surprise. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, walking us through an impressively extensive menu. I ordered the Double Medianoche--pulled pork, ham, mustard, Swiss cheese, and sweet pickles, all pressed panini‑style. My friend went with the Pan con Croqueta, a ham and cheese sandwich topped with a ham croquette. For anyone unfamiliar (myself included), croquetas are minced pork that's breaded and deep‑fried. Both sandwiches were solid, but the Medianoche was the clear winner for me--warm, flavorful, and perfectly pressed. With so many options on the menu, there's plenty more I want to try. Friendly staff, good food, and a comfortable dine‑in experience. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. There at least two signs advising they will charge 18% gratuity to tables of three or more and will not split checks for three or more.
