This place is awful. I dropped off my laptop 3 months ago and they said they would pay me $50 for it, but when I went down to pick up my money, they "didn't have it." Then they were closed during business hours. Then the phone they give stopped working. Then, when I finally got ahold of someone, they promised to mail my money and call back with a tracking order. No call back. Ever. I've called to ask, beg, and complain about 10 times in the last 2 weeks, and finally got ahold of someone today. The manager said he'd personally drop off the money today, but I see no reason to believe that. If you want to get ripped off, go here. If you value your time and money, stay well away. read more

Stole my equipment, did not pay me... I took a bunch of laptops and other equipment to them to sell. They said they would get through "testing" all the stuff to make sure it worked, and they would call me back. They first told me 3 days at most. After a week I called them, and Haley told me they were not done "processing" the paperwork. After 3 more days I emailed, and did not get a reply. I would call and they would give me the same story and promise to call me in 2 hours. They never called me back at all. They rarely answered or returned my emails. It took me 5 weeks to get a check for $620. When I cached the check it bounced and my bank took the money out of my account. Haley keeps promising to give me the money. Haley at one point blamed the problems on Clint the other owner. I was told Clint left the business one week, and that he was back the next. I was told that they simply forgot about the check or the money order they promised to pay, or that they were out of town. It is now 11.14.2011 and I am still out $620 + $12 return check fee. I have no choice at this point but to contact the Hays county district attorney and try to file criminal charges against them. Update: Today is 12.2.2011 and I still have not gotten paid by Bobcat Electronics. They have just signed a deal with someone else to provide financing and backing. I have turned them over to the San Marcos DA for writing hot checks. If they owe you money, you better go after them now before they blow all the new financing they just got. They do not deserve to be in business. Update: 12.16.11. "Haley Joe" also known as Christopher Michael Miska, DOB: 10/10/1979, has paid me in full via money order. I do not recommend that anyone do business with them. It has come to light that persons working there have an extensive criminal record for writing hot checks and other offenses. THE most awful experience. Dropped it off the 15th, needed a screen replacement..simple enough. Repair time is already one week to maybe one and a half. I call and stop by twice a week after the one week mark... First, they said the new guy broke my webcam when trying to instal the screen so it's going to take longer to order a new screen from Michingan or something weird like that, then they say my computers all taken apart so they can't give it to me bc the guy was always on service calls at businesses. Then they say that the screen for my laptop is in their warehouse and the guy who works there is again, out on a service call and I can pick it up Friday the 4th at 5:00 pm. (They close at 6). I go to pick it up....they just closed the store early at 4:40 when I got there and never came back. Finally I have my dad come with me to make them give it back to me whether it was taken apart or not. (I'm a 20 year old girl, guess these computer guys didn't take me serious) In the store they obviously don't want to loose a $300 sale, they say we just missed the UPS guy with your screen we'll have it fixed by tomorrow. HA didn't they say my screen was in their warehouse? Why would the UPS deliver like that....they don't. ONE month later is when I finally got my laptop back....it was untouched....webcam was NOT broken....they are LIARS!! They just want to use your money, never have anyhting in stock. And the owner doesn't know hwo to dress appriately for work...he dresses as a man or woman whichever he feels like and it's extremely unprofessional.... they suck. If you want a huge massive hassle take it there, if you need a fix take to Best Buy or the laptop place next to Alvin Ords.....NEVER BOBCAT ELECTRONICS!!!! read more

I would not wish this horrible experience on anyone. I ordered a part from them and over 2 weeks later still did not have the part. I called numerous times with no answer and when I went into the store they continuously lied to me about where the part was and why I could not get my money refunded. I finally had to get the assistance of a police officer in order to be refunded. The people who work here are rude and do not care about their customers at all. This place has got to be one of THE WORST businesses I've ever had the displeasure to deal with. They are not only LIARS but also are pretty damn ignorant about keeping their lies straight. We took my son's Xbox in to be serviced on December 20th and today is January 6th and it is NOT fixed! Here are just a few lies: "it'll be ready on Saturday" (we got that one three different times!), "the disc is on order", "disc will be in tomorrow" (that one was told to us at least twice including yesterday). There was a new guy who knows nothing apparently. Then there's Clint who is most definitely a dishonest person. He told me just yesterday that it would be ready today at lunchtime and to ask for him. When my husband called him out on telling me this, he lied and said it wasn't him. WORST experience EVER! and now my 11 year old is devastated. Not only did he wait but now we need to find a different repair business while he waits even more to place his Christmas games. NEVER use this business!!! read more

I had a great experience at Bobcat Electronics! They're prices are really good and the service was quick.

Do not pass go. Found used speakers. Could not demo for me in store. Bought, took home, plugged in: crackling, buzzy, awful. Took them back for a refund. Wanted to give me a store credit... with no inventory to choose from! Refused to honor the refund. Had to contact my credit card company, file a claim, and got a refund that way. Do not even THINK of doing any business with these folks. There are far more reputable computer repair, used computer sales businesses in town. Go there. read more

This place is terrible. I bought a charger/chord replacement for my laptop a month ago and it already broke. They are also unprofessional. The chord was not delivered when they said it would be and they never called me when it did come like they said they would. I called and they said it was there so I came to get and the employee had no clue what was going on and couldn't find it for 15 or so minutes. They were also unexplainably closed during regular business hours one time when I came by. This place is terrible do not go here! They claim to have the best prices in town but really they sell pieces of junk and have terrible service. read more

I took my laptop in 10 weeks ago. They told me the LCD backlight went out and I would need a new inverter and bulb. They quoted me 5 - 10 business days for parts delivery. They have never contacted me since I dropped the unit off. Also, there is no such part as an LCD 'bulb,' something which I should have picked up on initially. The store has been closed for over 3 weeks now and they have yet to return any of my calls. Essentially, they took $200 and my laptop. Also, their phone number is no longer the same one that is listed on their door. The new number (if you were lucky enough to get it from their note on the door before they took that down) goes strait to voice mail which they do not answer. Very unprofessional and incompetent. I am seeking legal action against them. read more

As far as I can tell they've disappeared with my laptop. I went in there over a week ago to drop off my laptop for repairs, mistakenly thinking the place was still Bobcat Laptops. Bobcat Laptops had done work for me before and always gotten it done on time and were very good about keeping their regular business hours and communicating with the customers. I don't know what the hell has happened since then or who this new owner is, but they have no business being in business. If I'd seen all of these reviews beforehand I wouldn't have gone. Now I'll just go to the parts store around the corner; they're at least opened and stocked, and that place is also a "down to earth local business" if that kind of thing matters to you. read more

On Monday, 01/02/2011, we took our old laptop here to try and sell it. We left it to be evaluated and the manager said he would call to let us know how much. He called and said that he would take it; however, after that phone call we got the round-a-round for two days. On Tuesday, after two trips to the store to get the money, the manager told us he was going to lunch and would stop by the bank and call when he returned - never got the phone call. Wednesday we called and were told, by the manager again, to come between 6 and 7pm to get the money. When we arrived we were told they had no cash. So, we asked when were we going to stop getting the run around and receive our money and the answer was "I don't know" from Clint the apparent "new employee" who miraculously knew nothing about the manager or the way that he runs his business. Overall, we made 3 trips to the store and called once, and still did not get our money after being told we would. So, we got our laptop back after getting no answers about why we were being told to come at specific times to get the money only to be shown a register - empty. Based on our experience, this business is incredibly unprofessional and even though they are apparently under new management and have changed their name (slightly), they have not changed their old ways (based on some of the reviews below). read more
