The food it's hit or miss the polish and gyros are ok but the pizza and fries not so much.

Everything is consistently good, and you can enjoy a nice clean place to enjoy your food. Service is always 5 star.

There are no proper hours listed on the website (it says open 10am - close. What?!?). I went to this establishment with high hopes. I was STARVING one day and strolled in during a car show that was taking place. I decided this was going to be the place I try. I ordered a chicken strip meal (fries and drink included). Over priced for one. When I tell you these were the WORST chicken strips and fries I have had in my life and I am not exaggerating. It tasted like they took these chicken strips and fries and threw them in a steamer for about 4 days. Then I ask for a ranch to dip them in. This ranch wasn't cold, it wasn't warm, it was HOT. After a long day hiking at Starved Rock, my family and I popped into Bobaluk's for a quick bite on the way home. I grabbed a pair of pizza puffs, since pizza and puff pastry are two of the greatest foods ever invented. I was looking for an ice-cold beer too, but the taps were limited to domestic light beers. I'm not enough of a beer snob to expect a mom-and-pop restaurant in rural Illinois to have the latest IPA microbrews, but I'd have loved a PBR or Blue Moon to go with my dinner. Oh well. The food came out to our patio in short order and hey, it was pretty good! The pastry was a liiiittle bit dry, but the cheese was melty and warm and the sauce was tasty as well. Enjoying it while watching the small-town traffic go by was something of a zen-like experience to me. All in all, the food won't set the world on fire, but it's solid, has a low price tag, and is dripping with rural charm. read more

Was disappointed in our recent visit. Hot dogs were barely warm and the fries were soaked in oil and burnt.

Ordered on line and picked up. Beef sandwiches were overwhelming large as were the order of fries that come with the daily special. Desert showcase looks very appealing. Don't order delivery on this site cause you won't get an order and you'll get talked to very rude & hung up on ‍ I assumed they delivered so I placed an order and it even asked how will I pay at my door, cash,credit or debit. Went to Bobaluk's on a whim wasn't even sure if it was open and think we were 2 of about 8 people there. You order at the register and sit until they bring it to you. I asked what they were known for or what was good and was told to order the Gyro. When it arrived at the table it was overflowing with meat, so much so that I think I could have made another sandwich. Not only was the gyro huge, but excellent! The meat was tender and had great flavor and everything else that makes a gyro a gyro was delicious. Not sure if I will ever be back, but if by chance I am, this is where I will go to eat. read more

I ordered a Italian sausage to go . It was horrible took 2 bites and threw it away. It was old and BOILED and had no taste at all. I called up and talked to mike he was easy to talk to. he talked me into coming in for a free sandwich. When I came in I was insulted by his big mouth mother who acted like I was lying I tried to keep it quiet but she started yelling so I started yelling. There were customers in line that left because she was so ignorant and loud. So she refunded my money and said if I don't like the food to not come back. I said that sounded good to me. Was in town visiting my boyfriend and he suggested this place. This is a true home town restaurant. Huge portions. Great prices and met the owners. They were some of the nicest people I have met. They are the only place in town besides Burger King and I would almost rather go to Burger King! Not once Have I ever had their Gyros Sandwich when the meat was cut nice and thin. Their beefs are tasteless and my 6 year old can dress a hot dog better then these people. I truly believe if anyone would open a similar restaurant in town that actually gave a crap about the food they serve and the people they hire Bobaluks would go out of business!!! Love the Cheesy Beef here! Gyros are very good also-service is good and quick,nice family owned business. Very nice eating area with tv in main dining area and also has a nice eating area to the side for parties and overflow area when they are really busy. Pizza are really good but kind of expensive. No ma'am!! Are you serious? Well truth be told I only had the beef but that was enough. It smelled horrible. I don't know what kind of gravy they use for the beef but they definitely need to do better. The stench was terrible and I did try some of the meat. Lived in Chicago for over a decade and managed to find two places that had decent New York Style pizza. While camping in Illini State park my daughter and I went out for pizza. Earlier in the day I asked the camp ranger where to get good pizza. He said if you like a chewier/thicker crust try Bobaluk's so we did. I had a pepperoni pizza and my daughter had a cheese. Not exactly New York style, but close enough. Both tasted good, crust, cheese and toppings were delicious. Happily surprised to find very good New York style(ish) pizza in Marsallies. Great Gyros and hot dogs, wanted to try a slice of their pizza to go ...Got charged for it and never received it .The worst thing was that there wan an additional fee for using my credit card.. They said that was my option. Granted I understand that they are charged a fee from the credit card companies but dont put it back on the consumer for the price of them wanting our business,.... They charge a "convince fee" to use a credit/debit. There pizza is over rated. Casey's general store is better. They charge for cheese on your pizza. Yes CHEESE. I ordered a two topping pizza. They charged me for 3. I questioned it and they said cheese is a topping. $19 for a true two topping 16" pizza.... never again. Not worth it. It had a huge burnt bubble in the middle. read more

Good luck finding a time on a Friday night when they are open past 7pm. The food is good and if they ever decide to start keeping their posted ours we might be back. But as we work on a Friday night till 7pm and that is our order out night there won't be any orders from us. I actually called one night on my way home and was told they would be there till 830pm. ok, I've been waiting to get my hands on this issue with this place and finally i can write my review. in the town of marseilles there are not much good places to go to to eat when you are not in the mood to cook bc its been too hot or whatever. anywho. ive been to this place about a total of 3-4 times, my husband about the same. when we order, we order either a hot dog for the kids, and gyros for ourselfs. when we got our gyros , there was no sauce!!, i didnt know you had to ask for sauce for your gyro,?? EVERY GYRO COMES WITH SAUCE, when we told the guy we didnt get any sauce he acted like he didnt care that he messed up our order. They act like we are bothering them when we place an order. when we walk in their they are always sitting down either eatting or watching tv. i saw a couple come in while we were eatting it took them a few minutes to get up their to them. also, my husband went there on a saturday we were having a birthday party on sunday and asked the guy if they were open on sundays, so we can help them out and order food from them , he rudely told him " umm no, we have to have a day off some day"!!! Its like you couldnt of just said sorry we are closed on sundays.? oh not to mention i ordered pizza that was supposed to be big, it must of been tilted, and the cheese was off to one side, and it was burnt. how can u give food like that to customers. i called to complain but the phone was busy or they closed. who knows. maybe they have caller i.d and know they messed up so they wouldnt answer the phone:/ when we go there , there is hardly anyone there, so its not like they are busting their butts off all hours of the day, its not the customers fault that there are not more people coming in eatting their food,maybe if they werent so rude to people, they might get more customers.!! if business is that bad, change the hours so that your open from like 12-10 or 3-10 or 11 pm, something like that instead of going off on the people that pay for your rent, and food to feed people. after that, we havent been their since. we felt like we were not treated right at all as a person. and that we were pretty much done with that place, I try so hard to not go to the bbb on them, im not sure if they even go through them or know who they are! but, id like my money back for every single time ive eatten there. here i thought i would brush it off because they are having a hard day and its been slow. but it shouldnt be the case of me feeling sorry for them,. i walk pass there, they are open but there are no customers. if there are no customers and i understand that they stay open to earn money their not.
