I have been seeing lots of posts and ads about this new boba spot in Lake Forest. I finally got to try it this week and it was very good. I ordered online and it was very easy. It's a small spot and although there's a nice sign outside, it was hard to tell which door belonged to it. No one was in there when I first arrived so I had to make some noise to get the attention of the person working in the back. She came out and was very friendly. My drink was tasty, although it was super sweet at first. I guess I got a big gulp of the brown sugar and brûlée. I mixed it up a little more and the flavor balanced. There is plenty of parking in this plaza and the workers are quick to greet you and reach out to see if you have any questions about the menu. My husband had the perfect pair combo which included a croffle and drink. He chose a strawberry lychee yogurt refresher and I had the cookies & cream croffle. For my drink, I went with the boba bee milk tea. We enjoyed both drinks and the croffle! I ended up going in again a week later because I was craving their milk tea. Popped in here upon seeing they now have a croffle - croissant waffle so of course I had to try it. They do let you know it takes about 10 minutes to prepare so be forewarned about that. Overall, it was good - tasted like a flattened croissant, crisped out the outside. Also had a Thai iced tea. Service was very friendly. I've been driving by, Boba Bee, since they opened but always forgot to go visit. I was craving a dessert style drink sort of late in the evening. They were close by and open, so we finally went to give them a try. Boba Bee, has a few tables outside their door where you can chill and have your drinks. There is no seating inside, only a small space to order and wait. I didn't get the staff's names who were working at the time of my visit, but they were cool. One who took my order, was very helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. They had pink hair but after talking to them, I found out it was initially dyed purple which had since faded. They were very personable and I enjoyed our interaction. The worker in the back, came up and gave me our drinks. He had a smile on his face and thanked me for our purchase. What we ordered; 1) Ube Cloud - hubby had this and I forgot to try it. He said he liked it though. 2) Queen bee - half sweet, substitute grass jelly instead of boba. I LOVED this drink. It was still a tad bit sweet for me still but not bad. It was probably from the brûlée at the bottom of the cup. I would totally order this again. I'm glad to have found a desserts beverage/milk tea place close to home instead of having to drive into Irvine. I appreciate the later open hours too and most of all, for the staff. Tried Boba Bee for the first time. People waiting, people picking up online orders. Cute decor around the shop. A kiosk to order or a cashier to assist. I ordered the Queen Bee in the Crème Brûlée Series, 75% sweetness. I also asked for the drink to be blended but they couldn't accommodate. The order was quick but even after mixing the contents of the Queen Bee, the sweet cream was in clumps. I kept moving around the straw hoping that the cream clumps would dissolve. Nope. We first tried this place when they were offering samples at Taste of Lake Forest. Their their thai tea and milk tea with boba are both excellent. I recommend getting the milk tea half sweet! Friendly, helpful service, shop itself is pretty small so you'll be sitting at a table outside or taking your order to go! read more

Drinks here are expensive but good. My favorite is the Queen Bee. You can taste the tea in the drink. The boba here is soft and chewy. The cream brûlée pairs very well with the tea. I ordered the Queen Bee and the Cookies and Cream smoothie The Queen Bee sounded amazing with boba, pudding, and a cream top -- but the black tea had a weird bitter taste and the boba wasn't very fresh. The Cookies and Cream smoothie had a strong vanilla taste but barely any cookie flavor, which was a little bit of a letdown. However, the staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall for me this place was a bit underwhelming. We placed a group order and I will say that the other people enjoyed their drinks. They ordered the Thai Twist and a strawberry Delight while I ordered the Ube Brûlée for myself and we got the Oreo Brûlée to share. What keeps the score at a 3/5 is that my brother and his wife enjoyed their drinks. I was very disappointed by their Ube Brûlée. You can't really taste the Ube or the brûlée (basically a pudding or flan). It was basically like drinking milk with flavorless mush. The boba was soft but definitely overdone. It was borderline disintegrating into the drink. The Oreo brûlée was similar in that their brûlée pudding was flavorless mush but at least the Oreos held up and were crunchy. read more

I usually don't really care about reviews, but this one was ridiculous. I enter in and am not greeted by the person, just rudely told, "Use the kiosk." I am a little taken aback, but I just want some boba. I go onto enter my order, pay for it and sign and decline a receipt because I don't really need one. Order doesn't go through and he just looks at me blankly waiting for what is supposed to happen next. I say, "Do you take cash?" and he points to the sign, "Cards only." This was my first time trying Boba Bee and I really enjoyed it! I went here on a weekend and placed an online order. By the time I got there it was ready to go so I was in and out pretty quick! I got the Tropical Fruit Tea with Crystal Boba and Rainbow Jelly! The Tropical Fruit Tea consists of Mango, Peach, and Strawberry tea that also has mango and strawberry bits at the bottom. The mixture of the different fruit teas and fruit bits at the bottom was very tasty and refreshing. Also in my opinion, the Rainbow Jelly and Crystal Boba were perfect add ons too! Came here completely by accident. Co worker was picking up lunch and I decided to tag along and saw Boba Bee. Decided to give them a shot, not expecting much. But, to my surprise, it was actually pretty good. The store itself is pretty small, nowhere inside to enjoy the drink in store - more of a pick up and go kind of shop. They do have some cute decorations inside though! The flavor of the milk tea and boba were both pretty good. I ordered their Queen Bee which is a Brown Sugar Brulee drink. Service was fast and friendly - they also have these cute snack sandwich things at the register and are Buy 2 Get 1 Free. Not sure why I bought them, maybe because I hadn't had lunch yet and was hungry haha. I got 2 taro and 1 pork floss. But to my surprise again, they were actually both pretty good. First trying this and I must say my husband and I enjoyed the boba drinks from here. Ambiance : I love how it's located in a shopping complex where the place seems so relaxing once you pull up to the boba spot. Service: the service was really good. I didn't catch the guys name that helped us but he was very detailed about all the drinks and was very kind in recommending the best drink to try. The drinks: the drinks we go were very refreshing. I got the tropical breeze and the stinger both taste like spring going into summer very refreshing and addicting with every sip supper yummy. My husband got the same drinks but not the stinger I forgot his second drink but he loved both. So I'd ever you are in the Irvine area and craving some boba GO TO THIS PLACE ! TLDR: It's really good! Boba and drink! This is the second boba place, other than Orobae, that I have ever given a 5 star. But the flavors are completely different from orobae's strong teas. The teas here are light, but tea flavor is noticeable and tasty. No bitterness. Not the awful artificial powder. It's refreshing. The boba is perfect- chewy and sweet. **suggestion: make sure you adjust the sweetness to your usual liking. But besides the classic teas, the slushies lean towards the sweet side... so opting to get a little less sweet than you usually would when you order for a tea worked for us. My house black milk tea at 75% was perfect. It is made with a non dairy creamer. (They have a selection of drinks using regular milk and a section of the menu featuring non dairy drinks.) Clean, light, and flavorful! We usually order 75% but we went 50% for the strawberry mango slush and it was still just a tad sweet for us. But, it was delicious and very refreshing. It reminded me of the strawberry daiquiri drink from Orange Julius which is childhood nostalgia for me. Oreo brûlée was the best I have ever had. Prob bc it has tea in it too. Love that! It also comes with boba. We got that at 100% and it was sweet so if we could, we would do 75, but strangely still felt like the slush (at 50%) was the sweetest. No room to sit and hang out. Pretty tasty drinks - great for a hot day. I took my kid here and he ordered the cookies and cream smoothie and added boba pearls to it. A bit unconventional, perhaps, but he rarely misses on flavors and combinations. And again, this one was on point! Very yummy, and I like how the pearls remained nice and chewy even though the smoothie was pretty cold. The drink wasn't cheap - about $8. I do like how on most of their drinks you can select a sweetness level. Service was okay - very to the point. Drink came out pretty quickly.
