What enticed me to come here was reading Tracy W.'s review and her comment that they played "very white music" here. I found this to be an offensively racist statement which I further pondered once I returned from my safe space. What does that comment mean? Is it folk music by the New Christy Minstrels? 70's rock by Fleetwood Mac? Hee Haw music by Buck Owens and Roy Clark? Maybe it was an autocorrect issue and she meant Barry White music? I had to go find out. There was plenty of parking as Boba Bee is located at a Ralphs plaza. As I went inside I immediately realized their sound system was quietly playing a radio station. A mattress commercial was faintly oozing from the speakers. I didn't think of that as being connected to any specific race. As I ordered - and playing until I left - the song "We Are Young" by Fun featuring Janelle Monáe played. A bit of a mixed bag. So I still don't get what she was getting at or whether it was a positive or negative comment or simply an observation. But what about the drink? I ordered a Boba Bee Milk Tea, which is made with oolong tea, with boba. The two young women working were friendly and quick. I liked the drink just fine. It was slightly sweet and satisfying. I usually like my milk teas a bit sweeter but this one was okay. To be fair, the woman helping me told me it probably wouldn't be as sweet as I liked once I told her I had a sweet tooth. She suggested some other drink but I declined so kudos to her for offering great customer service; I should have taken her advice. I wish Boba Bee the best of luck and hope they set the world on fire and burn brighter than the sun. read more

This place is surprisingly so good. I came here and expected just another boba tea place but this one is more like a dessert place in the form of boba as opposed to a boba place that focuses on high quality teas with boba :). Although I'm sure they use quality teas here as well. I'm not one for super sweet drinks however, I really enjoyed my Cookie Butter Freeze. I ordered it with 50% sweet not knowing what to expect. The presentation was great, the drink had just the right amount to sweetness, anything over 50% for me would be too sweet. I added egg pudding and it worked well with the flavor. It was like dessert in a cup and was so yummy. My daughter ordered the ube Cloud with Oreo cookie crumbs and it was pretty excellent as well. I thought it was cool with the cookies adding a nice texture to the drink and it was not as sweet as my cookie butter but very tasty indeed. I would still order my Cookie butter next time though:). You have to really want to come here because even though there is a lot of parking all the spaces are taken. I really wanted a ube iced coffee so I circled around and finally found a space sort of close. Once inside, there was a line and it was like a busy doctors office, people sitting and standing everywhere. It wasn't that the service was bad. There were just a lot of people wanting to order. I finally got my coffee and it was good, but I don't know if I would fight the parking and the crowds again to come to this location. I love the Ube Cloud boba drink and so do my kids. However, they really need some more employees working in the evening time. I always have to wait for way too long for a drink. Today I stood at the register for 10 minutes before someone helped me- there were 3 kids in the back SLOWLY making drinks and talking to each other. I don't ever leave negative reviews but this was not a good experience. Cup size is average for price. we tried their brulee series and it was just way too sweet. Got o e brown sugar and one ube. I don't know why previous Krak Boba supporters are dissin' this place, when the owners, workers are the same exact people! Additionally, their drinks are similar to Krak Boba. In fact, some of their drinks are better than Krak Boba. The owner/s of this place just got sick of paying for high franchise fee and created a name for themselves. They also concocted their own formulae of boba drinks, which I quite like and appreciate. They have their own classic milk teas, and signature drinks. I mostly value their 100% sweetness level isn't disgustingly sweet especially when I forget to adjust it at a lesser level. Here are some of my family's favorite drinks: UBE CLOUD - Refreshingly delicious! If you're like me that doesn't appreciate overly sweet drinks, I recommend this drink at 50% sweetness. However, I forgot to adjust the sweetness level at one point, and it came out very sweet but not cloying. CLASSIC BLACK MILK TEA - Very good! My son and I love this drink. He gets his at 75% sweetness, and I get it at 50%. UJI GREEN MILK TEA - Non-dairy. My lactose-intolerant niece love this drink. OREO CRÈME BRÛLÉE - Drink dessert. I personally have not tried this, but it's one of my family's fave. Service is always friendly and polite here. I also appreciate that they have their rewards point. I forget exactly, but you get a free drink or BOGO half off if you reach a certain point level. My only complaint here is that they're so STINGY ON BOBA! I wish that they give more boba, 'coz the amount of boba they give is gone after several sips. There are plenty of parking spaces. This boba place replaced Krak Boba, so it's the same store. Inside is small and one bench to sit on, but they do have outdoor seatings. The Uji Matcha milk tea tasted like Jasmine Milk tea with matcha powder ~ my new favorite for this location. It will make you stay wired though if you are sensitive to caffeine. I always go to this place because it is close to my house today I ordered a creme brûlée boba with extra creme brûlée, I paid 0. 85$ for the extra which was totally in vain because they did not put creme brûlée. The drink tasted and looked totally different than what I usually order, it had like a lot of white foam that tasted very salty, and the pearls I am almost sure they are overcooked because of the rancid and bitter taste a very weird taste. Prerty good boba, but some times you just dont want boba, needs snacks (like waffles) to bring me back more often.

I usually attempt to find a reason for bad food/service and therefore give businesses a break with a passable review, or some reason to justify it as an off-day, but the milk tea here is just flat out awful. This place uses a non dairy creamer, which is an excuse to cheap out on real milk. They are most likely using a soy milk, which is the cheapest one out there - esp with so many subpar brands available (this taste even worse than Vita Soy). That was bad enough, but why not indicate on the menu that it is a soy creamer so that people who are intolerant of it can be well-informed and not order that item. Problem solved, and those people (myself included the other day) don't go home with stomach distress and bloating because they are allergic to soy! Even if it wasn't a soy creamer, it was atrociously low quality non dairy creamer with cheap, inferior ingredients. You wouldn't expect this after paying $5.50 for seemingly high quality milk tea without the cheapskate offerings. I'm tired of being robbed and gouged especially during this inflationary times. Stop victimizing people by performing gouge tactics like this! read more

I literally live a block away from here and did not know this place opened as it happened so fast! But it was a nice little surprise as their specialty drinks looked really good! As a fan of milk teas, I had to try their queen bee, which was crème brûlée milk, tea with boa. And I also had to try out their cookie butter freeze which is milk and graham crackers. This is a blended drink so you can't adjust ice levels, the sweetness can be adjusted. I had them both at 75% sweetness and it was just right in my opinion. Especially enjoy the queen bee, I am more of a black tea and milk person when it comes to Boba drinks. There is no inside seating area, and that's the only down side incase you want to sit and relax somewhere. But there are a few tables and chair outside that's right under the sun if you are looking for a quick tan. If sugar is your concern for drinks, I'd be wary of buying them as they don't provide zero sugar options, and 25% is still lovely.
