I contacted Fish Electric through Yelp, and Sean quickly reached out with a quote for both and was at my house two weeks later. Sean installed the dimmer switch in what seemed like one minute. I was embarrassed thinking about how long it took me just to take the old plate off and try to get the wires off the old switch. He then started to install the outdoor outlet and had a few different box options for me to choose from. It was also installed pretty quickly, and he even offered to install the camera even though I didn't buy it through them. I thought that was super nice and not expected given he didn't charge me any more for it. The camera installation is so clean that you can barely tell it's even there. It would have looked 100x worse had I tried to attempt it myself. The whole process was simple and quick, and I appreciated that I could get the quote, schedule the installation, and pay my invoice all online without having to talk to someone. It was a quick and simple process, and the services were definitely worth the reasonable cost in order for it to all be done correctly and with minimal effort from myself.

Anthony from Westborn Electric was given the task of replacing a light heater fan combo in the bathroom. I was able to obtain a new one from the 1980s, 1990s still in the sealed box. He was trading one in and trading the other one out. He had to go into the attic and work from up there too. Insert the new box and the insides. Connect them, adjust the light fan heater switch on the wall. It was a big job, two and a half hours. But he was able to install it beautifully. It runs perfectly and I'm very happy with the job Anthony did for me. As a postnote, he said the biggest surprise for him was that I was able to find the exact new unit from 3 decades ago! They're much better made, American. I told him it was the only one in the country and I found it for $50. The install was pricey, but every time I've needed to have electrical work done it's pricey, regardless of what electrician does it. Anthony was personable, respectful and not invasive. He arrived and did the work.

I can't say enough good things about Alex and his crew…read more I called XPower in order to get a quote for installation of several picture lights, a floor outlet, two dining room wall sconces, and a new chandelier. Alex promptly got back to me with a very reasonable quote, and I was happy to learn they have weekend availability. As a professional working in healthcare, I hate to take time off on short notice, as it requires me to have 25-30 patients rescheduled last minute, which is unfair to both my office manager and my patients. Fortunately, XPower is flexible in their availability, which I greatly appreciated. They showed up between 9:00 and 9:30 AM on Saturday as promised; I did not have to wait around for hours for them like I've had to for other contractors. They promptly got to planning how to rout the wiring as I'd requested and got to work. They kept me abreast of their progress while I worked in my yard, and even though they hit multiple snags (to be expected in a 1930s home like ours), they managed to creatively strategize ways to get the work done exactly as I'd asked. Under normal circumstances, I'd expect to simply be told the work cannot be done as I'd like and to be offered some sort of half-baked alternative or worse -- to be told that the contractor is going to back out of the job because of the difficulty. Not these guys. These guys are the essence of "Where there's a will, there's a way." The crew was even happy to add on some last minute work I'd requested, as I had accidentally struck something in my wall the day before when I was installing some wall anchors to hang some paintings and unexpectedly set off a shower of sparks. Turns out I somehow managed to penetrate a live electrical box one of the previous owners had sealed over after they had removed some sconces from the wall. That was a lifesaver. I can't say enough good things about this crew. They're accountable, they clearly care about the work they do, and they'll do whatever it takes to get the job done. Any time I have any electrical work that needs to be done in the future, I will only be calling XPower, and I will be recommending them to all of my friends and family. I am already planning on having them back to install some more picture lights as well as a recessed media box and recessed outlet for my Samsung Frame TV and soundbar. I'm even considering getting a quote to buy my parents a whole-home generator for their house as a gift, as their power goes out frequently and unexpectedly. Highly recommended, can't say enough good things about this team.

He first asked, "Are you pretty handy?" I said I was. So, at 5:30 on a Sunday evening, he walked me through a few things that might have helped. He told me that he likes helping people over the phone if he can. Wow. It turned out that expert help was needed, and he was there the next day. He got the system working, temporarily, then came back the next day to put a control module in. It wasn't cheap, because of the control module, but the price was reasonable. Before he left, he asked if I cleaned off the AC unit outside. I told him I did it last year, but apparently I didn't do a good job. You can spend a lot of money with electrical bills if you're not careful about cleaning the fins. That alone made his visit worth it. And, I found out why he lists 24 hour availability. Calls go directly to his phone, and he always picks up. If you are in need of air conditioning repair, make your first call to Jim.
