Everyone enjoys working with Tom, and they do their best work for him. He was very hands-on and was here on the job site almost every day (unlike other contractors who disappear and let their teams fend for themselves once the job starts). I also have requested over a dozen times to get him to send me receipts for the money I paid him nearly a year ago, and still have not received receipts.

I wish I could give 10 stars for Shaddle Construction's work on our master bathroom addition…read more Working with Shaddle Construction was like night and day in comparison to the original contractor we hired who did a horrible job. Shaddle's level of workmanship, attention to our needs, and old-fashioned customer first attitude was clear from the start. The honesty and professionalism of John Shaddle, his subcontractors and his crew were evident in every interaction we had with them. It took us almost a year to find Shaddle Construction after the debacle of the prior contractor, but it was worth the wait. John and his subcontractors figured out how to correct the innumerable errors in workmanship in the bathroom interior and the exterior stucco. The shower needed to be completely demolished and redone. Subcontractor Chris Field meticulously made sure the floor slope was correct, the walls were plumb and painstakingly measured and rechecked his measurements before cutting each tile. Chris used a laser beam and a level to check each tile he installed to make sure the tiles were even. He was patient, professional, exacting and a joy to work with. The resulting installation is absolutely beautiful. Subcontractor Armando, of Armando Plastering, fixed the exterior stucco. He is an artist who managed to match exactly the style of the original 80-year-old stucco. The crew made sure that our house was protected from any dust and debris, cleaned up daily and were respectful of our house and us. We love our new bathroom and are so grateful to Shaddle Construction for making our dream finally come to reality. Our faith in people and contractors was restored. Thank you, John!

I had a great experience with Brandon for an electrical issue at my house. I originally called him…read moreafter finding some sketchy electrical work in a switch box in a new house I bought. I know enough of the basics to explain what I thought the issue was. Brandon stayed on the phone with me for 30 minutes asking questions and giving suggestions of things I could try. Everyone else I called didn't want to spend time having me explain the issue and instead just went straight to invoice writing. I appreciate that Brandon tried to help me over the phone in case I could solve it myself, saving me money. Ultimately I asked him to come out to take a look for himself since it didn't seem like there was an easy solution. He came out a few days later. Coincidentally, when he arrived I was frantically trying to figure out why my cement driveway was literally pumping water out of its cracks. Brandon was here for the electrical issue and not this and I already had a plumber scheduled to come out for an emergency call. But Brandon immediately started helping me out by checking the water meter and a number of the irrigation solenoids. In about 10 minutes he root caused it to be a massive leak in one of the irrigation pipes (we're not sure which but that's for another day) and was able to shut off the water line to the irrigation to stop the flooding. His whole goal was to save me a bunch of money by no longer needing a pricey emergency plumber to come out on a Saturday. He didn't even charge me for this adhoc troubleshooting. Because I was interested in the electrical work he was doing, he explained everything he was testing, what he thought the issue was, how the wiring should be done, and what new wires needed to be added. Ultimately, he determined that a 3-way switch was set up incorrectly and the box didn't have the appropriate hot wires and neutrals needed to get things working safely and to code. He charged a fee to come out (which is expected) and gave an estimate for the work to be done if I wanted him to fix the wiring (minus this initial fee if I went with him), but he also recommended I give it a shot myself given I had the knowledge to run the new wires. I really appreciated the fact that he wasn't trying to just charge me a bunch of money that was potentially unnecessary. It earns a lot of trust, and I plan on using him and his company as my go-to for all things electrical and remodel.

We…read morestarted a bathroom and kitchen remodel in Nov 2020 and it quickly spiraled into multiple change orders, him firing his entire staff, and then we fired him after he abandoned the project and did not meet the project deadline of July 23, 2021. After we fired him on Aug 9th it went from bad to worse. He called 911 on us, convinced his sub contractors to harass us, filed an improper mechanic lien, and had his subs also file improper mechanic liens. We have spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars to not only finish our project but to to go through the courts and bond system to remove those liens. Tommy had a great crew working on our house and he checked in every morning and often every afternoon to make sure the project was progressing as expected and that the quality was high.
