I came here with a friend when we both had some artwork we wanted to get framed. We decided we would try this shop out and give back to a local business. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the store. There were so many different color palettes to choose from when picking both a frame and the backing. The owner was very knowledgeable and patiently pulled out a bunch of color combinations to help me pick the perfect style for my artwork. He really has an eye for this work! I was extremely satisfied with my frame when received. I will definitely come back here for future framings! read more

Business sold. Now "Art of Framing." Good service. Need to update this listing. They do good work and the prices are reasonable.

Clear and straightforward framing shop. Has art frames! And makes recommendations on the type of glass or plexiglass to use based on how your art will be presented. This USED to be FastFrame. But now: it's Bob's Custom Framing. read more

Bob’s - This used to be called fast frame, but now it is called. Bob's Custom Framing. - Framing Near Me - San Francisco, California

I was in a jiffy and these guys spent the time with me and helped me out last minute. I couldn't have asked for more. I needed an enlarged photo framed and matted and they did it within 20 minutes and nicely wrapped to boot. They were thoughtful in execution and didn't treat me any different despite me not spending an arm and a leg on a custom job. They do have readymade frames and can customize a mat for any of your needs. Highly recommend! read more

We had a custom painting that needed to be stretched, and Bob's Framing did an amazing job! We called around to a few different places, and the price at Bob's was less than half of any of the other estimates. The turn around was pretty quick as well (2 weeks, versus the other businesses who were estimating 6+ weeks). We are super happy with the final product. Thank you! read more

I brought in a collection of drawings from my 4 year-old to mount for my husband's 40th birthday. Bob was thoughtful, kind and worked out the overall look and design of the layout, as well as finding the right frame and glass for my budget. I'm so pleased with the way everything turned out, and the service is 5 stars. Thank you! read more

Excellent. Fast and importantly friendly! I cannot recommend Bob' Custom Framing more! I have been a customer for several years (from when it was operating under its former name) If you are looking for a professional and friendly experience this is the only place to go in San Francisco. The craftsmanship, attention to detail and value cannot be beat. Most importantly when you have a special item you can trust Bob's to treat the diploma or art with the care and precision it deserves. I have also taken a frame in for repair (damaged while moving houses) which came back strengthened and repaired to a very high standard. There are a lot of options in San Francisco when it comes to framing. If service and attention to detail are important to you then this is the place to go! read more

Ernesto did an amazing and quick job in framing two pieces of mine that I acquired in Mexico by renowned artist Francisco Toledo. A little pricey but with Yelp discount made it a little more affordable. You do have to pay for quality, though. read more

Every person I've worked with at Bob's Custom Framing is knowledge and friendly. Not to mention the turn around is really quick! The son, Bobby, has taken over the business that was once Fast Frame and it's now Bob's Custom Framing. The service, price and their work is still unbeatable. Best framing spot in the city! read more

I love the fact that the staff took extra time with me. Worked with my budget as well. I love the final results. Could not even see the flaw that was in the picture after the finished product. read more

Had a great experience today at Bobs framing! Ernesto was great to work with, he recommended on how he would approach framing my 2 photos and frames, both were very good. Great customer service! I will recommend this place to anyone who needs framing and mats cut! Nice to feel welcomed and treated fairly at a business' these days and not feel like they're taking advantage of you! Great job Ernesto! read more

We had four pieces of art framed from them and it always turned out great! They really do hold up to their name- FastFrame- as our frames were turned around very quickly! The staff is super helpful and nice, too. They are also affordable compared to other frame shops in the area. read more

It's all in the name--fast frame! As a designer, I can tell they sweat the details; the craftsmanship is solid and although they can do same day service, they don't rush the art of framing. Bobby helped me frame a print of mine all within the same day! This place has a solid selection of frame types from ready made to custom; it provided me with all the options my heart could ever desire! (Minus a hanging fishing wire but they're working on it.) With this being my first visit, I felt well informed of my options along with the price tag it comes with. Stop by and whatever you're trying to frame will be in good hands, I guarantee it. read more

Fast Frame is amazing. As their name implies, they are indeed fast. They are also the nicest frame shop I've ever had the pleasure of going to. From my initial call asking if my project met their work parameters, to the day I walked out the door with my beautifully framed print, it was the best frame shop experience I've ever had. Their customer service is matched only by the excellent job they did. Parking is hard, but if you call and say you're out front, they will bring your finished art out to your car and load it for you. Now that's a business that cares about its customers! Thank you, Fast Frame! read more

Over the years I have tried most frame shops in San Francisco (I have a large art collection) and Bobby has become my go to framer of choice for all my high quality custom framing. They have just rebranded to Bob's (it was called Fast Frame before) but this family business has been around for years. They know how to handle artworks properly and use archival acid free and UV material. The turnaround time is also one of the fastest in town. read more

We took a very challenging project to Bob that involved suspending a rice paper painting on a grid of dowels and magnets inside a frame. Bob was a fantastic problem solver, and iterated solutions in communication with us. Ultimately, he probably put in twice the work he quoted us for but he didn't try to revise his quote. Nice guy who communicates well. I highly recommend him for any complex jobs. read more

I wish there was a sixth star because these folks deserve it. Facing a time crunch and after visiting several other SF-based frame shops (all of which told me that their quickest turn around time would be three weeks), Bobby at FASTFRAME came to my rescue. Not only was he able to turn the job around in 6 hours, while also delivering upon an incredibly gorgeous product, his customer service was beyond anything I had expected. YOU'RE BRILLIANT! THANK YOU! read more

Fastframe did an AMAZING job framing a couple jerseys for our office. I would recommend them to anyone I know. First off, Carlos the owner was extremely attentive and spent a lot of time making sure he built us a custom frame for our jerseys that met our every expectation. He also made a very useful recommendation to go with the UV protective glass to make sure the autograph wouldn't fade over time in the sun. I left both jerseys in his care and they were done in no time at all and for a very reasonable price. When we picked them up we, we were amazed at how good they looked. I was initially very pleased with the response time of my quote on the order I was planning on putting in. When I explained the details of my order and method of payment (Groupon), I had been given the green light by the employee over the phone that FastFrame would be able to accommodate me. After making the 2 hour drive to the city, I was dumbfounded by the ignorance and miscommunication between employees at this establishment. BEWARE of this shop, and any offer you buy from them online. BEWARE of false promises over the phone as it may have you driving back home for 2 hours regretting you ever even considered FastFrames. read more

I needed give my plumber some alone time, so I dug out all my old Fillmore posters and left them w. Bobby at FastFrame. OK it was a little more involved than that, but the end results are truly spectacular. I was quoted a week when I brought them in on Saturday, I had them Tuesday and they helped me to the car. Five star service, I could not be happier. read more

I had my paintings stretched here and FastFrame did the job perfectly. I compared quotes from multiple places and they were the best in terms of speed and value. Everyone is also super nice and friendly. Highly recommend! read more

Prefacing this by saying that they did do a good job with my pieces, however to say that it was overpriced would be an understatement. I got quoted for 4 pieces that I had and on my largest piece they quoted me $1400, I didn't do my research before hand and even though it seemed high I bit the bullet on all except the largest piece. After searching around and getting a second opinion, I got a quote on that same piece for $400!!!!! That's a THOUSAND dollar difference. DO NOT come here, they will overcharge!!! read more

I first bought a frame here and thought I'd frame a poster myself which was a BIG boo boo...I messed it up big time. Robert saved the day! Even though it took us a couple tries to get on the same page, it all worked out and he did a great job and it was a super good deal for the amount of work. Then I got his business card and it said he's an owner, which made the whole process even better knowing that he's doing this to give people a quality product. read more

A good Groupon deal brought us in to FastFrame. They were a great help in suggesting frames for my hard to please partner. The print had some wrinkles which they were able to remove and the completed job came out great. read more

I went to FastFrame because they had a coupon in the yelp add and I am so happy I did. I got three pieces framed in time for a special event. They all look amazing and it was very reasonable. The person who helped me was efficient and the work was professional. Thank you! read more

I cannot recommend this place to anyone anymore. They never have my framed pieces ready when I come in to pick them up. My posters are wrinkled more when I get them from this place. They overcharge you and quote you lower prices, but when you get the bill they expect it to be paid. All of their employees are incompetent and unprofessional. They will suggest using more expensive frames and techniques just to get you to spend more money. Horrible service overall. You have been warned. read more

Honestly, Bob is a genuine person which means more than most these days. Bob consulted, advised, and quoted my project reasonably. Good work isn't cheap, but this shop doesn't upsell because they need the money. Extremely happy with the work and I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Be advised, the "total satisfaction guarantee' is only for the one who pays, even if that person is a senior requesting to put together a gift of pictures for her kids, and requesting to arrange one or two of the pictures in a significantly off-center fashion. Carlos the owner framed a few pics for my Mom and in each of two frames of three portraits one of the three pictures was significantly off center. I noticed the total satisfaction guarantee sticker on the back of the frame and thought, I'd bring them back in and see if anything could be done to straighten the pics. I even called ahead of time to be sure they would be able to address the issue. When I got in I was told (after one frame was already taken apart) that to pull them out of the frame and see if they could be fixed would be an additional charge. I asked about the guarantee and was told since Mom had oked it they weren't obliged. When I asked about the off-center-ness, Carlos said he agreed but that Mom arranged and pictures the way they were. ... Later, after I took apart the second frame he told me he had recommended Mom get the pic's photo-shop centered. On request he did waive the fee, however when I got home I realized he also didn't give me all backing to re-frame the pictures once I dealt with the off center photo. I'm not sure how much Mom paid, but whatever it was it was for naught. Too bad. read more

Two stars is being generous. I've been here twice over the past three months. Each time the cost (without matting) was very high (over $400 for each print). During both visits, I mistakenly thought I would get service commensurate to what I was spending. HA! I had the same counter man ( wouldn't even consider him a "sales" person) who was uninterested, a bit sullen and gave me a "complete date" and a promise of a call when my job was ready. Both times they did not call, so I contacted them to get an update. Neither time was my project ready and I had to wait several more days. The result has been no better than any other framing business in town. So I ask myself: Why am I still giving these people my business? As has been stated in other poor reviews, not a "thank you" or "we appreciate your business." Well, my response to Fast Frame is "see ya"! NOT!! read more

I had three Artwork framed at the Bob's Custom Framing on 1710A Market St. SF. The staff was, experienced, polite, and detail oriented. They offered a range of quality materials and prices. I finally pulled my diploma from under my bed and an old charcoal sketch drawing and decided I was going to finally frame them. Because Fast Frame is the closest framer to my house (convenience is important for the car-less), I decided to let them take care of them. I admit, there was a lot of sticker shock. This place is NOT CHEAP ($400 for two medium-sized frames: only one with matting). Maybe it's just that custom framing in general is not cheap, but this was my first go at it. I agree with the other reviewers that they did not call when the frames were ready, as they said they would, but they told me in advance that the frames would be ready a week out, and they were indeed ready on that day. I am giving 4 stars for craftsmanship. My frames look really beautiful. They are seamless, polished, and have all the extra fixin's, making them ready for hanging. The even put little cushions on the bottom of the back to keep the wall from getting scratched. Going here, as expensive as it was (for my budget), feels a lot like getting to fly in first class. If I had the money to drop, I'd always do it. read more

Let's clear up one misconception: this place is neither fast, nor expert in the field of picture framing. I visited Fast Frame to see if they could frame a semi-rare 1999 Kentucky Derby scarf we won at an auction. The salesperson assured me this was doable, and he seemed to understand that I would most likely just go with a glass cover, sans frame. I was told it would be ready by the weekend, but that they would call first. Fast forward a week. I return to pick up the scarf and they could not find any record of me in the computer. Finally, someone finds the piece it in the back, and it is quickly discovered that the scarf has been "overstretched", and is thus pulling off of its backing. In the words of this salesperson "This looks like shit". I return to Fast Frame the following Saturday to discover that NO WORK had been done on the scarf. In the words of the salesperson "We have been thinking about how to do it". I demanded a refund but was told that I had to speak with the manager, who was not there, AND that my scarf was "off site". Whatever that means. I returned the following Saturday for pick up and it looked "ok", although the edges of the scarf were pulled so tightly the print was crooked. I recently took the sad piece to Cheap Pete's sister framing place on Polk and they told me that that FF glued the scarf to the backing, so they had to float the scarf in a frame, rather than correct FF's mistake. $600 later, the scarf looks as it should have in the beginning. read more

After working out everything for about 20 minutes or so, another person says I cannot use a groupon for what I picked out. Sigh. I am not positive but I think they mishandled my print and there are now three dents in it. I took my print out of its tube a total of one time before coming here. I've used groupons for framing at other places and it was a much better experience and end product. read more
