The service was extremely slow. There's no reason to have to wait the way we did for oatmeal and biscuits and gravy. Then to be served like-warm food there's no excuse. Well, I guess there is one standard for quality if you eat in, and another for carry out. Ordered Wildfire Chicken Salad with dinner rolls. The rolls were uneatable. They were so overcooked and dry that they crumbled into pieces when I tried to butter them. The salad was ok, but the fried chicken was sparse and what was there was also overcooked and dry. They included one small container of dressing - not nearly enough for a large salad. Won't order takeout again! read more

First of all, I was told my order was going to take 15 minutes to prepare, as I only ordered a chicken noodle deep dish platter with a side of broccoli. I get there for them to tell me they ran out of broccoli, so I substituted it for fries. I'm on my lunch break and it took almost an entire hour for my meal to be prepared. the person severing was also very unprofessional and gave me attitude when I told her that I was out of time and needed to go, saying "I'm all by myself and would appreciate some patience." First of all, she was not by herself. Second of all, I would appreciate if you didn't lie to me about how long it was actually going to take to get my food prepared. I used to eat at this Bob Evans on a regular basis. However, the last 3 times the food has been lukewarm. The last time I ordered grilled chicken and was served deep fried chicken, which I can't eat. The waiter was very nice, but I didn't want to wait for another order. Passing through OH on our annual pilgrimage, we made a late breakfast stop (11:00 a.m.) at a lifelong favorite restaurant chain. We love Bob's. This location was on the back end of the normal breakfast crowd. Some tables were in need of clearing. The store was clearly short staffed and struggling to keep up at every station. Our server was a tad overwhelmed, but upfront with us that it would be a "few minutes". We were in no hurry. The food came out in about 20-mins. A few items were forgotten, but everything got to the table soon enough. Food was ok. Wasn't bad. Wasn't great. ( Big Breakfast, breakfast protein bowl, pancakes, eggs, etc), The one exception was the fruit. All of the grapes that were brought to the table in our fruit sides were moldy. Not ok.... The cook, the server should have never allowed that out of the kitchen. Regardless of how busy or under staffed you are, you'll work twice as hard doing it twice. However, the breakfast did the trick and filled our hungry stomachs. Nothing flashy here. The store being so under staffed clearly caused some issues with service across the board. It was sad to see a long time family favorite restaurant, seem like it was struggling to keep the lights on. That was my perception. Hopefully other B.E. Are in better shape. Ate here with the family on Saturday in between soccer games. The food was good and the coffee as good as always. Service was decent, though they were rather busy and we had a long wait to get a table and another long wait to get the food once we ordered. Oh, Yuk! As with many other reviewers, this Bob Evans needs to go. An embarrassment for the lovely Levis Commons area. Yes, the service is terrible here. SLOW. Our 3 third visit here, and I must day our LAST. But worst than the service is the horrible food preparation. Who the heck do they have cooking back there, Children? (Kids can do better) Long 30 minute wait for food. This is the 2nd time here that the sausage patties were burnt to a crisp. Black and hard as a hockey puck! It made a clinking noise on my plate as I tapped it on its side for the server to see. I sent it back. Finally got new patties after all of us were FINISHED eating and sad to say, they were same as the first! No apologizes.No offer to remove charge from bill. Our friends- sausage links raw. Pancake not done inside. Bacon looked like it was a "redo", dropped in the fryer and hard as nails. Fried Mush was brown on outside, raw in center. Toast not done. Yep. Not many people in the restaurant @ 11:30a.m. on a Wednesday. Hmm? Wonder why.? Can't blame it on "busy". WE walked inside and it was freaking freezing inside!! Cold air was coming out of the vents! Everyone in the place dined in winter coats! We waited an hour for our food which was also cold, no wonder with it basically sitting in a frigid place. We asked why it was so cold and were abruptly told the thermostat was in a locked room! Absolutely horrible experience. Went to lunch with my sons and regretfully, I was the one who suggested going there. Pro: The water with lemon was good. Con: The rest was really bad. The hash browns were cold and not cooked all the way. My son ordered 4 eggs and there was 'maybe 2 eggs' on his plate. The rolls came out so well done and burnt up that you couldn't tell what they were. The biscuits were so hard that I couldn't even cut into them, and could have used them as a weapon if called for. I guess what was most disappointing was that the waitress actually brought all this food out and expected us to eat it. My thought is, 'if I wouldn't eat it, I wouldn't expect anyone else to eat it.' I know it's "Bob Evans" and nobody will care; our service was poor. I asked for cream for my coffee then she proceeds to fill it to the rim??? I asked for over easy eggs, one was fried hard the other had little yolk. We asked for water and we got kiddy cups while everyone else had full glasses. Never got a coffee refill. Now I remember why I don't come to this place anymore. Sunday night with 15 people in the restaurant and we sit here waiting for our drinks or even someone to come and acknowledge us. It's wonderful sitting and watching the servers complain over who has our table (at least do it out of the sight of the customers). I fondly remember Sunday lunches as a kid where it was top notch service with wait-staff with the name of Flo and Dolores. Our server arrived finally and explained that she isn't sure why they sat her with so many tables at one time. Not that busy, work as a team to figure things out! Bob Evan's is, well this one is great!! I had not been to a BE in quite a while (2yrs) and was surprised how nice this one was inside. Plus the food came fresh and tasty. Even the dishes I sampled from others at my table were good. Atmosphere - Clean, bright, oak-ish and crowded (w/ mature members of the community). This usually signals good food to come and this signal worked again. Oh, and the menu I received was freakishly new. It was so clean, I bet it just came out of the box! Service - The waitress was motherly sweet and prompt with service. She worked with me to get the tastiest grilled chicken sandwich, which helped me to forget about the awful one I had at M&E a few days earlier. Food - I had a great grilled chicken sandwich on a cornmeal roll that while a little on the store bought side in texture was still very good. The chicken was hot and tender w/ appropriate grill marks to let me know how it was made. The fries were excellent! So hot and crisp that I had to force myself to not eat all of them. I ate some of a co-workers banana bread. It had nuts and fresh banana pieces inside clueing me in that it was made in-house. I could have eaten a whole loaf!!! Worst breakfast ever. We ordered a soup and sandwich. The soup was 90% noodles with 10% broth. We asked the waitress for more broth and she gave us a weird look and said, "... When I htink of a home cooked meal I think of Bob Evans and they never disappoint. Anytime you go to a Bob Evans you can pretty much throw a dart at the menu and whatever entree it lands on you will not be disappointed. I had the farmer's breakfast with french toast, bacon, one scrambled and one over easy with home fries. It was just enough to stuff me without having to take anything home. The staff was friendly and accommodating which is what I have come to expect at any Bob Evans I go to. All in all, solid choice with tasty options and an overall great experience for a couple, family or large group. read more

I'm giving this location a 4 because the assistant manager went above and beyond her duties. My mom, sister and I stopped in to have lunch and our service was horrible from the beginning. We waited a while just to get greeted at our table but we didn't complain or say anything to showcase our impatience, we just looked around and waited. We ordered as soon as we ordered our drinks. My mom ordered soup and my sister and I ordered two scrambled eggs and a fruit bowl (that was all). The food took forever but not from the cooking, we saw it waiting under the heated lamp for quite some time and we couldn't find our server because she hadn't returned to our table since setting our waters down. When we finally got our food she just set them down and didn't say anything and then we didn't see her for the rest of the time. We didn't complain to anyone at the restaurant about any of this and the assistant manager took the initiative to walk over and ask how our meal was and we said great (we're just nice people we didn't need to throw the server under the bus). She said she had taken care of the meal for us because she noticed we were experiencing poor service and waited for our drinks and food for some time. This means she had been watching us since we sat down and waited from the very beginning for drinks. I thought that was admirable that she took the initiative to cover our tab and also pay that close attention to guests dining at the restaurant. We visited this Bob Evans this morning at 10:45 and it was not a pleasant experience from start to finish. It wasn't crowded but we had to wait for a table, the soup wasn't hot yet so we waited until 11:20 to have it served. I ordered eggs, 2 pancakes and hash browns. The hash browns were like a small, burned pancake. I cannot believe the waitress and/or the cook allowed these to be served. The waitress never came back to the table to see if all was ok... I had to flag her down in order to have the hash browns replaced. The 2nd serving wasn't much better! Of course, I asked to have this charge removed from my bill and it was. I shouldn't have had to even ask! I can honestly say that I haven't had a bad meal like this for a long time. We won't be visiting this Bob Evans anytime soon if not at all. read more

Every time I order online and ask for bbq grilled chicken (wildfire chicken salad) they give me fried chicken with a drizzle of bbq sauce. Perrysburg location is not good. I would expect the chicken to be tossed in bbq sauce otherwise why would they even have that as an option. Also the salad came with barely any lettuce. I went this morning with my sister & nephew for breakfast was told a 20 min wait so I put my name in. There were no seats inside so we sat on the bench outside the restaurant. I kept checking for seats open in the lobby, but there were none. When I finally saw a bench open inside, we went in to wait. They called a family of 4 (which were before us) it ended up being a party of 7. The lady up front berated the guy taken names in front of everyone (though I believe it initially was 4). After the couple before us was told they were not there when called & taken off left, we checked to make sure we were still on the list. We were checked off, she said she looked for us (even though I stood by the door) she could put us at the bottom of the list. Had she apologized & offered to seat us next we would have waited. Instead, she lied & said she did come out & call us accused us of not being there & called me a liar. We left, went to Marie Scrambler's who sat us right away. Visiting from AZ we stopped in for breakfast. Wish we would have kept driving. My husband ordered eggs, hash browns, and sausage. His hash browns were scraped off his plate before he was served. The oil from the hash browns and a little residue was left on his plate and he was still served a half filled plate! My daughter's hash browns were black...completely burned black! She couldn't even use a knife to cut through them. My omelet was greasy with absolutely no flavor. I had 3 bites. We would have complained, but we already waited 35 minutes for our cold, tasteless food. I'm glad we do not have Bob Evan's in AZ...waste of money! read more

I work nearby and could eat here regularly but this place is inconsistent in their service and food quality. Their constant up-selling is annoying. I only eat here when it is the will of the larger group I'm with as was the case this week when 9 of us ate together in the front room. There were large black carpenter ants running up and down the table. I made a point of telling the cashier that the manager might need to know about the ants and she just shrugged. Beware if you want the pot roast hash! It is potatoe chunks, with one big chunk of pot roast. I said that is not hash and was told it was "their version" of hash. The definition of hash is small chunks of meat mixed in with potatoes. Obviously it is a cost saving measure on their part. I love Bob Evans, but this location was a total disappointment. The service was great but the food was terrible. I ordered the slow roasted turkey dinner. The turkey was very dry and no seasoning at all, the mashed potatoes seemed like they were sitting under the heat light since the morning shift opened (this was dinner time). My son ordered a burger and he was let down as well. The fries were dry and seemed like they were limited to what they could serve. If I remember correctly they only gave my son about 10-13 fries. Yes, I counted them because I was shocked. We were not expecting a large portion but this was an adult entree. I visited this Bob Evans about 3 months ago and I truly hope that they figured out what was making the food experience so poor. pretty decent bob evans. we always get food from bob evans when we are at home, so we decided to stick to the basics while away from home. we had to wait a few minutes to be seated on a steady saturday, but that wasn't a big deal. the hostess was very friendly and so was the waitress. there seemed to be an issue with the kitchen though, as we had to wait extra time for our biscuits and gravy to come out. we waited an additional ten minutes after we received our other food. the good thing about it was that it was fresh out of the oven once it did actually come out so that was a plus. out waitress was very apologetic for the wait time, so i appreciated that. it's not a huge deal for me to wait for food as long as it doesn't come out cold! read more

Stopped in yesterday around 5:40 for a quick dinner for 4 and were advised of a 15 minute wait time by the host. There were multiple open tables, however they didn't have enough servers to seat anyone until the next shift change. Patrons continued to walk in over the next 15 minutes and the wait time remained "15 minutes". We weren't seated by 6:05, so we went to Max & Erma's across the street. I'm giving it two stars because I know if I had the opportunity, I would have enjoyed my Cobb salad, iced tea and banana bread. Had dinner here with our family of five on 12/26/15. We got seated quickly and the service was good. All the food came out hot at the same time. The waitress had a coworker help by bringing a second tray at the same time because of our large order. Even though we were seated in a far corner (by choice) we still got checked by our server and a shift manager frequently for drink refills. We have been here about six times a year since it opened and have been very happy. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and it was fried perfectly and easy to cut. This place is much improved over the past few months. I totally agree with all the negative reviews from the past, but please don't paint today's restaurant with yesterday's brush. Evening service in particular had gone downhill, but tonight and the last few times we have eaten there, the food was great and the service by Skye, Adam, and Noah was excellent. My guess is that management (or corporate kicking management's butt) has paid attention to all the bad reviews and they have done an admirable job in turning things around. I have been consistent customer of Bob Evans for the last five years I have gone in there three times a week at minimum spending $25 per visit. I will not be returning after my last visit they have a manager they there by the name of Lauren who has made it a very miserable place to be. I help to get one of the cooks hired in there he's a good cook he's been a great asset to Bob Evans but because of her personal vendetta against me from Asst manager Lauren with me he now has turned in his two weeks why am I telling you this because Not do you not want to work there but you don't want to eat there because they are very revengeful! They have a hostess there by the name of Kathy she's very nasty and I have had problems with her on and off! you might ask I ever returned well I will tell you why because Dennis the manager was a phenomenal person and I really enjoyed him that is the reason I kept going back! After my incident with Lauren the manager I called corporate corporate promised that they would take care of the issue but that was not how they expected any of their team to ever act towards a customer I have waited now for that suppose it effort and educating her how to take care of clientele but the upper management has failed to do so! My guess is that Bob Evans is OK with losing a customer and all of this is over the snide nasty remarks by a assistant manager that have been let's go unchecked! The company not only lost out on my weekly $100 but are losing one of the best cooks they have had in a long time! I am not related to the cook I only knew he was a good cook and referred him to Dennis but due to their lack of respect for their customer and the Assistant Manager Lauren they have lost me as a customer and him as a cook! They talk about their customers when they leave and the whole restaurant is aware of you are unhappy with the way management don't prepare for the lunch hour rush than you get punished by the staff for speaking out! They talk about you say that your a nasty person because you are not happy with your food that's wrong!!'
