We call it Knob Blevins. It's a terrible place to eat. The only reason to eat here in Paintsville is because it's the only place to get a sitdown breakfast that isn't a fast food restaurant. Everything is horrible. Three times I've suckered myself into eating there in four years. read more

The biscuits and gravy were the bomb. The cappuccino had ready whip instead of foam. The waitress was delightful. Very warm and kind.

The local hostesses are great, and the food is almost always very good. It's also pretty clean, which is a plus.

1. The service is atrocious. We waited 40 mins for simple food, never received our appetizer, were told we would get refills in "just a second" and we never received them. 2. The food. When I tried the hash browns I nearly puked, the bread had no taste, and they somehow managed to mess up a APPLE. CIDER. 3. Price. For this terrible service and food that may or may not give you food poisoning you only have to pay the low low price of 51 dollars!! The broccoli that was served with my meal looked like it was leftover from the night before and rotten. They should not have ever been put on the plate. The veggies in general were all like this. The quality of our food was not great. Very disappointed in this location. read more

I ordered the new sirloin tips without onions, mashed potatoes with brown gravy and broccoli. Based on the photo in the menu it looked really good and thats what made me want to try it plus it said it was a new item. I was shocked when the waiter brought it out. There were a handful of very small pieces of steak which were dry, 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes with a tablespoon of gravy on top and about 4 pieces of broccoli. ​it looked NOTHING like the photo in the menu. The portions was so small I thought they gave me the child size. I can't believe I paid over $14 for that. I was still hungry when I left. read more

It had been quite a while since we had eaten here. They were so unpredictable with the quality of a meal and we just got tired of guessing if our meal was good or bad. But then we heard that the restaurant had changed hands and cleaned house. So I decided to try it. What a mistake. My son and I picked burgers. You can't hardly mess up a burger. They were both good, but was a little stingy with the fries. The problem was with my husband's meal. He ordered breakfast. The Homesteader, which included two eggs fried well done, bacon, has browns, biscuits and gravy. He doesn't like sausage gravy so the waitress suggested the country gravy. When his meal arrived, the eggs were runny, the bacon was burnt, and the biscuits could have been used as lethal weapons. He told the manager that it was the worst meal he had every had at Bob Evans. They didn't charge for his meal and was apologetic, but I doubt my husband will be back. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is that the rest of the meal was satisfactory. read more

Hi, I rate places based on where I am, I can't compare a small town (well, sometimes with New York City or Los Angeles). So, there I was in rural Kentucky, Paintsville to be exact and dropped in at Bob Evans for lunch. The resturaunt was immaculate, hostess greeted us with a big, welcoming smile and seated us. The waitress, attentive. The food, looked and tasted better than "chain" resturaunt food, it was correctly prepared and tasty! It's the only sit down restaurant in town, but those of Paintsville are very lucky, they are doing it right at better than fair prices! read more

Some people shouldn't be waitresses. People go out to dinner pay good money. And is greeted by a rude hurry up and order won't answer your questions. Then you ask for bread or-rolls SURE BE RIGHTBACK . She didn't come back , Then food comes . Half the order wasn't there. She disappears so we find someone else to tail. And ask for rolls . Finley get the rest of the order NO ROLLS . Manager comes out ask is how we're doing. We will rock some Rolls please. He said of course I will send some out right now. In the meantime he had told us that they wasn't ready. A couple came Zan sit stand beside his next table and they bring them Rolls . So I get up and go to manger and let him k that the next to us received ROLLS. I don't understand why they where telling us that the rolls wasn't ready when other table got them. He apologized again and said that they would bring some out. We just paid our bill and left but I did have the chance to tell him that was wrong that the ppl beside was no better then us . Waitress needs to be fired she very very rude. The worst food and service I have ever had at a restaurant besides one! Seriously, we almost walked out! It was breakfast and not even busy! We waited over an hour! I was very upset since this put us way behind schedule! I used to love Bob Evans! You could count on them no matter where you were for decent food and service. Not anymore. So sad! Today was not the worst experience I've had at a Bob Evan's but was close. Staff was not attentive to the wait list. I expect a little bit of a delay after church because of crowds but this was out of line. Waitress is normally courteous but today was distracted. Can deal with that they are human too. Went in with my family for Breakfast at dinner. The service was awful! My wife ordered a grilled chicken salad which featured raw chicken gross and at first they offered to grill her some new chicken like E. coli wouldn't stick to the lettuce. I ordered one of the breakfast meals that included gravy and biscuits which was really the reason I came. After 45 minutes my biscuits were "still not ready" according to the waitress. When she finally brings my biscuits my gravy had turned cold. I asked for a new bowl and the waitress went to the heat lamp grabbed a bowl and gave it to the chef so he could spoon off the film/skin that had gathered not the top of it explaining that we were a problem customer. The bowl of gravy had been sitting there since my first bowl was made. I gave two stars because my daughters food was prepared correctly. read more

The food has always been good here. You can tell it is fresh. The staff can be heard arguing in the kitchen, the trash can by the register is always over flowing. We also had to go the serving station for refills. We saw 2 other tables do the same thing. If the service improves, so will our rating. read more

I've been here 4 or 5 times over the past year or so and it has always been sloppy food with sloppy service. The first time I ordered stroganoff which took at least 30 minutes to come to the table and was ice cold. Another time the entire experience took 1 hour and 45 minutes and the food was par but not terrible. The only time I got a halfway decent meal was to order it to go and take the servers out of the picture. I believe the only reason this place is still here is the fact that it is the only restaurant of its kind in the area! If Cracker Barrel came around this place would be out of business read more

We waited ten minutes to be seated with plenty of tables available. We were the only people waiting. A waitress walked by and said she would be with us in a minute and proceeded outside. I am assuming she needed a smoke break. Several other employees just looked at us as we waited to be seated. After finally being seated it was another 15 minutes before they took our drink order. There appeared to be a lot of tension among employees. It appeared that the customers were a burden to them. It took another 10 minutes for our drinks. Our food arrived 30 minutes later. Not quite sure why it took so long because obviously the bacon had not been fried. As we were leaving I noticed another family waiting. Today I gave Bob Evans of Paintsville ky one more try. Should have known better. My husband, my 3 year old grandson, and I went for breakfast. First of all, our server was great. Very friendly, very efficient. He took our order and delivered it to the window. After 35 minutes, we began to notice everyone else was getting their meals. After an hour, I told them to forget it. It's hard to keep a three year old quiet after expecting his breakfast. Now, like I said, this was the second time this happened. The other guests noticed this also.
