On route to Cincinnati from Cleveland we stopped at Bob Evans in Jeffersonville for some breakfast. This Bob Evans is very spacious. It's very clean and appears pretty new. We quickly got seated. The menu was huge and had a lot to choose from. I got an omelette with American cheese, mushrooms, tomato and avocado. The avocado had an upcharge of $1.50. This also came with choice of bread, I got the banana bread and fruit. I also got their sweet creme iced coffee. First the fruit arrived. It was two slices of cantaloupe and about a handful of grapes. The cantaloupe was very hard and not very sweet, the grapes were ok, some were moldy. The omelette was pretty good and on the smaller side, but the amount of guacamole was laughable. It was the tiniest scoop of guacamole. I got banana bread, this was like eating paper. There wasn't any taste of banana at all, or really any taste to it. The iced coffee was very tasty and it came in a mason jar. When I was almost done the waitress replaced it with a fresh jar of coffee. I was a bit confused, since I didn't ask for it, she said "it's free". Ok, as much as I enjoy coffee, I'm not going to chug a glass after glass. My friend got pancakes and sausages. These were ok. Overall, Bob Evans was just ok. There are a few things that are easy fixes, that could have earned them an extra star. I will probably not be stopping by here again.

Absurdly thick Noods with a few chicken cubes added in

This is how I imagined a recent Bob Evans corp meeting went. " Hey we gotta drive profit and reduce costs, soooooo let's make our chicken noodle soups with 90% thick ass noods. Then reduce meat servings , especially the pricey ones like steak." My steak tips dinner LITERALLY had 6 tips total. Toss in watered down gravy and there you have my $20 dinner. I don't blame the nice staff at the restaurant but the pics say it all. Based on several of the reviews before mine, I don't feel this was an outlier serving event. Best way to keep people from returning is to make them feel ripped-off. Well, if the above was truly their goal they succeeded. I'll never go back after this Cashectomy ( surgical removal of cash from my wallet cavity)

Went to Bob Evans for the first time and the bldg and atmosphere seemed very nice. The menu had all sorts of what appeared to be delicious options with great pictures. The waitress we had was loud and short with us. She would walk by and drop menus off while still walking away without pausing or stopping. When she delivered food it would hit the table hard and startle us. After we received our food she never returned to check on us. Overall it was very poor service. There was an older waitress with an arm brace on that we observed serving other tables and she was clearly a great waitress and we wished she was ours. The food was bland and came out looking nothing like the pics in the menu. Specifically I ordered the special blue ribbon basket of bacon. This was supposed to be thick cut bacon. I received paper thin floppy bacon that was sitting in an inch thick pool of juice. I have no idea what it was but it looked nothing like the pic. No more Bob Evans for me.

When they clean the grill they forgot to clean the black crap off of it. Terrible

I did a quick search and turned to go to Trail Haus. I parked and walked in and asked for options since I had never eaten here. The young lady behind the counter gave me several options and I chose the "Dagwood" and a water with potato salad vs potato chips. I sad down at the counter. And about 5 or so minutes went by for the huge sandwich and potato salad came out. The sandwich was very tasty and I will say a yummy Dagwood. Now me personally I am not a fan of dill so the potato salad wasn't my favorite sadly. It was still good but again. I don't like dill and it had dill so if like me choose something else. Again the sandwich was huge and I took half home and ate it the next day and it was still very yummy. I would gladly order this again. The place was very clean including the bathroom. Everyone on staff seemed very polite. I would gladly come back and I recommend this location if you are in the area. There is also a bicycle shop attached so if riding a bike trail or needing something new, I am sure they will take care of you while you enjoy a yummy meal.

The menu has a good selection with the counter having signs about many specials. Everything is fresh and creative. They do not have kids meals so I ordered bubba cakes for the kids to share. They loved the pancakes and it came with bacon. My husband tried the chili and it comes with a side of cornbread.

Sterling, OH Mon-Sat | 7am-11am (937) 269-1911 Inside the Sterling Bluegrass Jamboree FIRST IMPRESSIONS: 5‍‍‍‍‍ - 5 of 5 If Cracker Barrel and a banjo had a baby, it'd be The Farmers' Table. You walk in through the main entrance of the Sterling Bluegrass Jamboree building (yes, that's a real thing ), and boom--you're in a dining room that doubles as a music hall. Tables, and the unmistakable scent of sizzling bacon. Bonus points for the "Text Your Order" feature --I sent a message, got a cheerful reply, a photo of my ticket, and an ETA. Ms. Celina greeted me with a smile, my food was boxed and bagged, and the whole place was cleaner than a bald head after a fresh polish. Would they let me sing on stage while waiting for my omelet? Probably not. But a guy can dream. THE FOOD: 3‍‍‍ - 3 of 5 I opted for the 3-egg omelet, which included ham, mushrooms, cheese, and wheat toast. Solid. Eggs were cooked perfectly, and the fillings were generous. However, it needed a little salt and pepper to bring it to life. #NoSeasoning #OmeletNeedsAMicDrop ‍ SERVICE & STAFF: 5‍‍‍‍‍ - 5 of 5 Ms. Celina runs the show like a breakfast ninja. Friendly, fast, and full of charm. I suspect she could whip up pancakes and solve a crossword at the same time. VALUE & PRICING: 3‍‍‍ - 3 of 5 $12 for an omelet? That's a bit rich for my bald wallet. I could make the same thing at home for half the price... but then I'd have to do dishes. CLEANLINESS: 5‍‍‍‍‍ - 5 of 5 Spotless. Like a freshly waxed dome. PARKING: 4‍‍‍‍ - 4 of 5 Street parking is available. There might be a lot out back, but I didn't go exploring. I was on a mission for eggs, not asphalt. ‍ HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY: 2‍‍ - 2 of 5 Small step at the entrance. Not ideal. Use caution when entering or exiting--especially if you've had a few too many cups of coffee. ‍ SOCIAL MEDIA: 3‍‍‍ - 3 of 5 - Strong Facebook Presence. Makes frequent posts, and the page has all the required contact information. Stop by the Farmers Table page and hit "Like". Why you're at it, take a look at the Sterling Bluegrass Jamboree page as well. You may be a Bluegrass Fan and just didn't know it. COMMUNITY VIBES: When Ben & Joy's closed, Mt. Sterling's breakfast brain trust lost its HQ. The Farmers' Table has stepped up as the new morning meeting spot for farmers, business owners, and individuals working to solve the world's problems over coffee. ‍ It was good to see some familiar faces. OVERALL BALD HEAD RATING: 4‍‍‍‍ - 4 out of 5 ‍ A charming breakfast spot with heart, hustle, and hash browns. Worth a visit if you're in town, at Deer Creek, or just craving a side of community with your eggs. SUPPORT LOCAL!
