#45/2024 Well the last time I reviewed this was covid. Over 4 years ago It's been through a few changes I've been here a couple of times but I haven't gotten around to another review. Last time I was here I think of at least over a year and a half ago. But one thing that's not changing is my star rating for me I'd gotten there right at opening time I was the first one there. They opened up the door I sat down she said give me a few minutes I'm still getting everything ready I got a cup of coffee looked at the menu. They have some newer choices some nice stuff But it was breakfast time and I went with the double Farmer's breakfast. That basically gives you extra meat. This particular day the cook was also the manager and a whole lot more. I asked for the eggs to be soft scrambled, I also wanted the pancakes on a separate plate butter on the side. Food came out fairly quickly Quality was great Very nice sized pancakes this manager Cooks up you get your money's worth. Thoughts of the hash browns were very tasty and the sausage links and bacon were very good too I haven't been here for quite a while but I definitely if I'm hungry and I'm in the area I will stop in again park the truck and come over to eat. They still have their classic little country items there for sale candles with unique scents. Bathroom was very clean. Stopped on way to Renaissance Festival. Good food there, but lunch lines are long. Not busy here at 11 on a Saturday. Service friendly, a little slow- surely short staffed. Baby K got kid's french toast and bacon. Good, nothing amazing. They do have games and crayons on the kid's menu. I got the rancher beef dinner. I love BBQ, and did not like "BobBQ" a few years ago. They dropped that, and I was leery of this new offering. But I had to try it, of course, and it wasn't bad. Not great, but not bad. Tender beef, some flavor actually in the meat, and not completely drowned in sauce. But not good enough to have again. Portion seemed small for $13, but that's inflation nowadays. Meat comes on baby potatoes (I had assumed tots,) with cheese and green onions, and a couple of onion rings. Enough to get me down the road, but kinda small. Comes with rolls or biscuits; I got the rolls and they were fine. Bob's has gone downhill the last decade or two. This was better than I expected, but nothing special. read more

On route to Cincinnati from Cleveland we stopped at Bob Evans in Jeffersonville for some breakfast. This Bob Evans is very spacious. It's very clean and appears pretty new. We quickly got seated. The menu was huge and had a lot to choose from. I got an omelette with American cheese, mushrooms, tomato and avocado. The avocado had an upcharge of $1.50. This also came with choice of bread, I got the banana bread and fruit. I also got their sweet creme iced coffee. First the fruit arrived. It was two slices of cantaloupe and about a handful of grapes. The cantaloupe was very hard and not very sweet, the grapes were ok, some were moldy. The omelette was pretty good and on the smaller side, but the amount of guacamole was laughable. It was the tiniest scoop of guacamole. I got banana bread, this was like eating paper. There wasn't any taste of banana at all, or really any taste to it. The iced coffee was very tasty and it came in a mason jar. When I was almost done the waitress replaced it with a fresh jar of coffee. I was a bit confused, since I didn't ask for it, she said "it's free". Ok, as much as I enjoy coffee, I'm not going to chug a glass after glass. My friend got pancakes and sausages. These were ok. Overall, Bob Evans was just ok. There are a few things that are easy fixes, that could have earned them an extra star. I will probably not be stopping by here again. read more

This is how I imagined a recent Bob Evans corp meeting went. " Hey we gotta drive profit and reduce costs, soooooo let's make our chicken noodle soups with 90% thick ass noods. Then reduce meat servings , especially the pricey ones like steak." My steak tips dinner LITERALLY had 6 tips total. Toss in watered down gravy and there you have my $20 dinner. Well, let's just say we went and left. The 1 star is for the bathrooms being clean. The hostess was nice but we then we waited a really long time for someone to come and even acknowledge us. We waited and waited and waited....The manager even made eye contact with me as I tried to wave her down but she ignored me. So we decided to leave and she watched us leave as she was setting up another table and didn't even acknowledge us as we left. Went to Bob Evans for the first time and the bldg and atmosphere seemed very nice. The menu had all sorts of what appeared to be delicious options with great pictures. The waitress we had was loud and short with us. She would walk by and drop menus off while still walking away without pausing or stopping. When she delivered food it would hit the table hard and startle us. After we received our food she never returned to check on us. Overall it was very poor service. There was an older waitress with an arm brace on that we observed serving other tables and she was clearly a great waitress and we wished she was ours. The food was bland and came out looking nothing like the pics in the menu. Specifically I ordered the special blue ribbon basket of bacon. This was supposed to be thick cut bacon. I received paper thin floppy bacon that was sitting in an inch thick pool of juice. I have no idea what it was but it looked nothing like the pic. No more Bob Evans for me. read more

I would Give this a negative star if I could. I've been there twice in the last two months. The first time the hostess looked at us and promptly ignored us while she carried on a 10-minute conversation, so we left to go to waffle house. The worst breakfast ever. My husband ordered the complete breakfast, I ordered pancakes and sausage, the pancakes come to the table half raw and black stuff from the grill that they forgot to clean off properly. Then they made us another batch of pancakes came back very quickly they were clean looking but again raw inside. When leaving to pay the bill they had taken off only 10% plus a little bit, (big deal) this was not acceptable they still wanted to charge us for pancakes we could not eat. We were willing to pay for our coffee and the sausages we ate. They finally agreed that we did not have to pay for anything at all. We will never never never return there or eat at another Bob Evans. After being seated, no one even acknowledged us and asked to take a drink order for 30 minutes....and I had to stop the waitress to even get that (which she wasn't happy/nice about). I give two stars for the Server who was friendly and kept us informed of our meals that were obviously taking too long to come out. I ordered a protein skillet. It came out lukewarm at best. Imagine a "skillet" meal coming out next to cold. How does this happen?! It is my belief that it was not prepared in the skillet at all, but instead thrown in there and topped off with a piece of "cold" scrambled egg. My side of fruit was also not fresh. I was alone. This time there were about 10 tables seated. 3 servers and a hostess. I was seated and ignored for 15 minutes. It was more important for the host to adjust the blinds then to get the attention of a server to assist me. After 15 minutes I gave up. I will never be back! I came here with a friend just yesterday, and ordered a breakfast item that came with a choice of sausage or bacon. I kindly told my waitress, Alicia, that I did not want meat with my food. She clarified by asking "No meat at all?" and I told her no. It took almost an hour for our meals to come out. When my food came, there was sausage on it. We told her I didn't order this, and she said "oh i'm sorry, I thought we agreed you'd give it to your friend."!We did not agree on that. She then brought out a plate to remove the meat, and made me remove it from my meal. It's one thing to not listen to customer requests, but it's even worse when you make up excuses as to why you didn't listen. We stopped here on the way home from NYC to Louisville because we were tired of fast food. Biggest mistake of the trip. We were there around 4 pm so the place was almost deserted. The server took our drink orders and I ordered coffee. When she brought it she asked if I needed and I said yes but thought she should have asked when I ordered the coffee. As she ostensibly went off to get the creamer I noticed that there was no sugar on the table. So I waited. And waited. And waited. Probably a solid 10 minutes later she brought the creamer but quickly scurried off before I could ask for sugar or, more importantly, I could request a fresh cup of coffee since the one in front of me had cooled and once creamer was added was even cooler. I looked around for our server but she was no where in site so I took the cup up to the counter where two other women were working. When I first asked for a fresh cup of coffee the young woman just stared at me for several seconds then went over the coffee maker. She then stated she would have to make more so I went back to my table to wait. And wait. And wait. We received our apps and several people got refills of their drinks as I waited for my original drink. I did eventually get the coffee and the sugar but was never offered a refill. Then our food started to come. I ordered the same thing that two of the boys ordered and it came with pancakes. Suspiciously only my pancakes appeared overcooked on the outside and looked unappealing and after several bites it was obvious that while the outside was crusty they were undercooked on the inside. The boys however had no complaints about theirs. So the server continued to make several trips to bring us all of our food and when she appeared done and asked if there was anything else she could get us my daughter pointed to me and said, "What about the rest of her meal? She ordered what the boys ordered." By the look on our servers face this news came as a complete shock to her even though she took the order. To be honest I was fed up and was willing to say forget it at this point but she scurried off to rectify the situation. It is important to note that what came with the meal and was missing was eggs and a choice. I had also ordered a side of toast. Amazingly and despite the look of confusion on her face, when she finally brought out the missing food it was exactly what I had ordered. And no one had mentioned exactly what was missing, only that part of my meal was missing. Perhaps you are thinking that at least I finally got my food, and it was freshly cooked I might add but, wait. First of all when she brought out the plate she did not give it to me but rather set it on the side of the table so that I had to reach over and get it. At this point however, my suspicions that this server definitely had some issue with me was confirmed. Then when I picked up the plate and moved it closer I got a obvious and strong scent of some type of chemical. But I tried the food anyway and it was obviously tampered with. Therefore my entire meal consisted of 3 bites of undercooked pancakes, one bite of eggs and 2 bites of sausage and a half a cup of coffee. I did eat the toast though. So if you are going through Jeffersonville Ohio I strongly advise you to avoid the Bob Evans there. Although I can add one positive note. My grandson thought the server was cute, but he had only just turned 16 a few days earlier so take it for what is worth. read more

I've eaten here before and always had a good experience BUT on July 10th, 2022 it was truly forgettable. the hostess was grouchy. Our waitress was handling two thirds of the customers. I ordered a Wild Fire chicken salad and received it in ten minutes, not bad BUTmy wife ordered a Summer Berry salad and didn't revive it for another 20 minutes with a quick "sorry" by the waitress. My chicken was cold but cooked, not sure f it was meant that way, one piece of the chicken was ok but the other half was marbled with gristle. the actual salad had a good flavor. My wife and I arrived around 6:30 pm on a Thursday evening as the only customers in line and were told the wait was 5-10 min. When we were finally taken to our table, the table still needed to be bused--and the restaurant was only 1/4 full. We placed our order (chef salad and an all-day breakfast meal--eggs with sausage and potatoes). It took 25 minutes for the order to arrive. My wife asked for whole wheat toast; they brought white toast instead. When I began eating the salad, about half of the lettuce was rotten. It was very disappointing and made me lose my appetite. I told the waitress about this and she offered to comp the salad--did not apologize on behalf of the restaurant or offer to have it made again. We won't be returning to this restaurant. read more

This Bob Evans is in a prime location in Jeffersonville where the 35 meets I-71, which leads to Cincinnati. There is a very popular outlet shopping mall nearby (Prime Outlets) as well as several food options including Waffle House and Popeyes. Because of the outlet mall and the people making a pit spot before the drive to Cincinnati, this restaurant seems to always be busy. This Bob Evans is pretty big and features many tables as well as a counter for quick service. They have a little pseudo-general-store at the front that sells candy as well as souvenirs, toys and many Bob Evans products (salad dressing, BBQ sauce, pancake mix, etc.). As I have stated in a previous review, Bob Evans serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, but they are most known for breakfast, which is served all day. Bob Evans' breakfast menu features a lot of variety and it is pretty reasonably priced. Their breakfast options include waffles, pancakes, french toast, crepes, grits, oatmeal, omelets, breakfast skillets, breakfast burritos, ham, bacon, etc. Bob Evans is a sausage farm so their signature dishes include their sausage patties, sausage links and sausage gravy with biscuits. I had their Western omelet, which came with diced smoked ham, onions, green peppers, red peppers, and cheddar cheese. The omelet was average. The ingredients were not finely chopped; therefore, the chunks of peppers were way too big. While the omelet was not overcooked, I prefer an omelet that is less browned so that the outside of the omelet is evenly cooked and not dry (Joan's On Third in Los Angeles does a pretty good omelet; they cook the outside perfectly). For omelets, I also prefer American cheese to cheddar cheese. American cheese melts better in an omelet and provides a nice creaminess to the inside of the omelet. The omelet was served with home fries. I find that home fries and breakfast potatoes are often undercooked. The inside of the potato is not that tender while the outside is not crisp. I also find homes fries/breakfast potatoes to be bland more often than not. That was the case here as the home fries were slightly undercooked and bland. The omelet did come with two good buttermilk biscuits--nice and warm with a crunchy browned top. I added a cup of their signature sausage gravy. The sausage gravy was very savory and creamy. As I have stated in other Bob Evans reviews, a lot of breakfast specialty places serve that sawmill white gravy with biscuits and it is too bland. Other places' sausage gravy dishes are too oily and greasy. Bob Evans avoids both of those problems. The sausage gravy was good (creamy and flavorful) and this dish is pretty consistently good (no matter what Bob Evans you visit). Service was quick and attentive. The waitress was friendly. Prices were good. Waffle House is nearby, but I prefer Bob Evans to Waffle House when it comes to breakfast. Even though the omelet was not that good, their very good sausage gravy and biscuits made up for it. While some of their breakfast dishes are misses, Bob Evans is worth at least one visit if you have never tried them. The parking lot is very big and free. read more
