    Eggs benedict with hash browns
    Vicky B.

Walked in and the wait wasnt long for a table. It did look decently busy for the lunch rush. Sat down and a waitress came right over and I thought oh this is going to be quick and good. Little did I know, I was wrong. My friend and I ordered our drinks first. I asked for hot tea and a water and my friend asked for decaf coffee. Waitress brought over my drinks but no coffee. She came over to take our order, and i got the ham benedict and my friend got an egg omlett with hash browns and rye toast with salsa on the side. We sat around waiting for our food probably for a good 30 minutes. My friend had to ask for his coffee again because she didnt bring it out with my drink first. First off, our waitress brought my food over and my friends omelett with cheese which he had asked for no cheese. She brought it back fixed up later within 10 minutes! (Now why would the wait be so long when the fix was so quick) then our waitress forgot the toast and the salsa and I had to physically get up to ask for each individual item which she eventually brought over. It was frustrating having to constantly wait and ask for each item. By the time we finished eating, she had probably only come by once to check on us and not even refill any of our drinks. We paid up at the counter and the general manager asked us how everything was. We let him know food was decent but the service was not good at all. He applogized and gave us 20% off our order due to the service. Granted that was nice of him, I dont think there will be another time for me to come back unless service improved.

Our service was okay, the food better. My family and I ordered some food, it was okay but I've had better at Bob Evans before.

I watched this awful looking dive bar transition from an eye sore in the neighborhood, to thriving bar, restaurant and small local band venue over the past 20 years. John & his wife have succeeded in turning the local eye sore into a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating serving up some amazing food. Their burgers are out of this world! The chicken wings can hold their own over many of the people that claim to fame their own. The gyro's and other Greek dishes give a real taste of the other side of the world! I'm not a drinker, but they do have a full bar both inside and outside. They offer catering and delivery for your events! The outside venue has local bands play on certain nights and has a covered, heated patio with a cast-iron stove/fireplace. The place is always clean and the service is beyond reproach! The variety of whiskeys is unparallel to any other bar we've been in Cleveland! If you're visiting from out of town and you want a quick bite to eat that satisfies the palette, make sure you stop in and say hello! A perfect meeting place before or during a Guardians, Browns or Cavs game!

Eating brunch here on Sunday before going apple…read morepicking reminded me of just how hard they work and how terrible so many people treat these lovely folk. That's my PSA for today. As for everything else, this little diner is definitely locally owned and locally loved. It was only a few minutes from the farm I took my bf to go apple picking on the far east side of Cleveland. FYI!!! - The menu online is incredibly outdated!! Each thing is about 50% more expensive. Use the attached menu pictures to get an accurate idea of prices in late 2025. This is no longer a cheap place to eat. :( After about 15 minutes of waiting, we were sat at the counter right next to the cash register and could hear everything the staff said. I was enlightened as to how terrible they are treated by stingy, entitled customers. I felt terrible about my impatience at getting seated and getting our food but it seems like all the staff and cooks were just burnt out today. They still did a pretty good job at making yummy food though! My bf got a skillet with home fries and wheat toast. This was a lot of food and the toast was very thicccc and very heavily buttered. I ordered a gyro salad with tzaziki sauce and it came with buttered triangles of pita bread. Since we weren't prepared for the price changes, we just got water to drink. We both were shocked at how LARGE the portions were! The gyro meat was so good and the pita bread was nice and lightly buttered. My bf was a huge fan of the sausage in his skillet. Because we didn't want to leave the food in the car for a few hours, we ate everything and did not have leftovers although we could have! Not sure how well my gyro salad would taste as leftovers though so it was probably best I ate everything. Lastly, I made sure to thank them and tip generously. I hope everyone else there did the same. I ended up paying about $42.

The main dining area was full the side area was getting full. Our server was very friendly. Hometown vibes. The portions were large. We ended up taking some home. O tried my husband's sausage and biscuits. The biscuits were delicious ! Fluffy and perfect. The gravy was good. It needed a bit more flavor via spices like salt and pepper. Easy to add, but better cooked in. I had the Hercules gyro with eggs and wheat toast. Loved the seeded wheat thick toast. The tzatziki sauce was very nice. Gyro meet was tasty. The shredded hash towns were perfectly cooked. My mother in law got the godfather. The guido Italian sausage looked good and she said it was great. Would definitely come back!

I met a friend for breakfast this morning, and everything from start to finish was spot on. I ordered the Sweet Jalapeño Sandwich: an English muffin piled with jam, bacon, an egg cooked over medium, and cheddar, served with home fries. It was the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and just a little kick. My friend stuck with her usual: the Banana & Bourbon Caramel Bread Pudding French Toast, topped with fresh bananas and their homemade bourbon caramel sauce, plus a side of pork belly. It looked incredible and, according to her, tasted just as good as it always does. We arrived just a few minutes after they opened at 8:00 and were seated right away. The service was friendly, attentive, and very prompt without feeling rushed. Scratch has such a great casual, local diner feel, but with a menu that's anything but ordinary. The portions are generous, the flavors are unique, and the quality is consistently excellent. Definitely a go-to spot for breakfast or brunch...you really can't go wrong here.

White walls, glass windows in front, a few things hung on the walls. Not fancy, but pleasant. Very clean. The food is phenomenal. I've been dreaming about their biscuits and gravy since my last visit. Still perfect. The home fry-style potatoes are what a lot of places try to serve but fail at miserably. They are crispy AND fluffy! Yum! My scrambled eggs were not at all greasy or oily. My iced tea was delicious and refreshing. My lovely wife had the chorizo hash, which I tried. Oh, my. So good. And the chipotle crema on top was just perfect. They have excellent diner coffee here as well. My service experience was immaculate the first time and just OK today. He was fine initially, but I feel like he kind of forgot about us after he checked on our food. We were stuck way in the back. Maybe he was on a break, which is fine. I spent time as a waiter in two different restaurants, so I'm sympathetic, but I did not get a drink refill, and I wanted one pretty badly. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots, and it feels like a hidden gem.
