I remembered Bob Evans for decent food to a reasonable price and nice service. Today, I learned otherwise. Waiter was totally unprofessionell and very inattentive. ~20 min wait to order the food (honestly we should have left already at this time) Plus another ~40 min to get the food. My food was over cooked and fried way too "crispy" ... I complained to the waiter which reacted harshly and instead to apologize and take the food back to the kitchen, she left it on the table and sent the manager. The manager apologized and promised a new meal. He answered the complain that we waited very long time for it with he will check on that ... no further comments to that, maybe 40 min waiting time is acceptable for him. After a reasonable time he returned with a new sandwich, the overcooked food still on the table and the new plate didn't have fries or anything else on it(!!!) Hmmm ... he quickly saw the mistake and promised the fries quickly. Finally after I finished the sandwich half the fries made it to the table. The cold and overcooked food still on the table! Other tables which arrived after us have left long time ago at this time ... After all we still paid the full price. With a long waiting time and overcooked food I would expect at least they take the sandwich off as an apologize to make me come back. Over all, I cannot recommend this restaurant, insufficient, inattentive service, manager tried but couldn't satisfy the customer either, and the quality of the food was unacceptable today. read more

I ordered an omelette with spinach, cheese, and tomatoes along with potato chunks. My sister had pancakes with a caramel apple sauce. Food and service were both good. I was pleased that my omelette was freshly made and tasty with a lot of spinach. The potato chunks were a bit greasy, but the delicious omelette was the star. Overall a nice place to eat and visit. Stopped in on the way home from work to get some take out soups with the soup deal of $5 per quart. Got there And placed my order for 4 quarts of chicken noodle soup. I also purchased some banana nut bread. With hardly any customers there I had to wait 20 minutes to get my order. They kept bring out partial quarts at a time it looked like for my order. Never once did they let me know they are short on the soup and it will take a few minutes to get it ready. But at the end they apologized. A little late for that. Advertising soups for take out but don't have any. This should have been a quick dip and go order. Would have been quicker to stay in and have a steak dinner. So my wife and I drove up to Michigan from Louisiana to watch LSU TIGER Racing compete in the SFSAE event at Michigan International Speedway. Of course we had to eat so we tried Bob Evans. The very first thing that struck me was how clean the place was. And this was during the evening dinner period. As my wife and I studied the menu I quickly noticed the pot roast. I had to try it. My wife got the Alaskan Cod. Oh my goodness- the pot roast was like home cooked- it was sooo good. And just the right serving size. No sides comes with the pot roast because it already contains carrots and potatoes. But bread is served with it. My wife's Alaskan Cod was very good as well. We were completely satisfied with our meal selections as the serving sizes were ample. The staff were excellent. They were friendly, knowledgeable of the food choices and prompt. I did not expect much when we decided on Bob Evans. I was very surprised in a good way and would recommend it to others. We wound up dining at Bob Evan two more times, once for breakfast ( their bacon is outstanding) and another time for dinner. Check it out. I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

We like the Bricktown Coney Island here in town, but this is our Chain Diversion every once in a while. We do small independent businesses versus corporate on a 9:1 ratio. Emma, our waitress, was well trained. She was very pleasant and rendered every little detail of what we asked for. The food was delicious. We had turkey and dressing, a side salad, chopped steak. The rolls were very fresh and the banana bread was moist. We split a slice of apple pie with ice cream and I would give anything to make a crust so yummy! The store was clean and the young man that helped us at the register was really happy and pleasant. Pre-ordered Thanksgiving dinner for pick-up. I made sure to order 4 hours early. Had a pickup time of 3 and was there at 2:55. Called in to let them know I was there and nobody would answer. I ended up calling 6 times for anyone to answer. When I finally got a hold of them they said my food was not ready and it would be another 15 minutes. Waited 40 minutes then called again to get an update. They said it was ready and would be out right away. I was surprised my food was not ready because at least 20 people had come picked their food up and left while I was waiting. I waited another 20 minutes and went inside. The assistant manager was at the counter and I told her I was waiting for an hour for my pick-up order. She says oh we are sorry but here's your food. Apparently it was ready for a while and just sitting there. She didn't offer a reason just handed me my food. I asked if the food was still hot since it had been sitting there waiting. She assured me that the food had just came out. Went home and as I expected it was barely warm. I knew it had been sitting there getting cold. While unpacking we realized they forgot some of the food and had to go back to get it fixed. Terrible experience and the management is terrible. They should have offered money back or extra food for being an hour late. Our whole Thanksgiving dinner was late because of them. Will never go back for the poor treatment by management. read more

My pregnant wife, our two kids, and my parents went here for Dinner on Sunday, August 4, 2013. We had to wait about five minutes to make it to the hostess for seating, as there was a group of six and a couple in front of us. Once there, the hostess said that she was going to check on a table for us. She didn't come back for awhile. While we waited, another employee came out to sit a group of four that had come in after us. Then the same hostess that we had spoken with came back to sit a couple that had come in after us. When the hostess came back, I stopped her and asked what was up. I asked why she hadn't seated us, or at least provided an update. She simply told me that "they" were working on getting a table ready for us. She didn't suggest we sit down in the waiting area, or anything. After waiting 5 more minutes, and finding that they were going to sit us in two separate booths, we left. Do not go here. Their customer service sucks. read more

So I just had to advocate for a longstanding quality employee of Bob Evans today. She was not allowed to go on break after working already for 6 hours, pregnant and experiencing full on puking symptoms that she made them aware of immediately in the morning! Despite other workers being treated and coddled very differently, the expectations of this hard worker are that she powers through the consistent scheduling irresponsibility of the company. The culture here is that breaks are frequently given out simply by asking for them. This rampant favoritism is obvious, not exactly a secret from within. Because of mgmt.'s deficiency to schedule properly and even cut a different server who was much healthier instead of this one server, they expected this server to just power through even with multiple trips to the bathroom while experiencing symptoms of sickness. She asked for a break and was simply sent home in response. She only wanted a break and have a freaking chance to make herself feel better, take something, crackers, whatever, something! She did not want to be sent home whatsoever! They might be able to hide behind 18+ people not being mandated breaks by federal law; however, the ongoing culture here is that you can get a break by simply asking. Favoritism, however, is not the only crime here. She asked for a break and then she was treated like no one else is after asking: she was told to go home. So, favoritism and now add retaliation for asking for a simple break after being guilt-tripped about the inconvenience that mgmt. put themselves in with their scheduling and even sending the other healthy person home. just THAT alone was a flagrant disregard, almost purposeful to show this server something. I know tons of people and I will be happy to inform others how this location treats their own, well, some of them, if you're not in their clique. read more

It was a terrible experience. After sitting for 35 minutes with only water glasses in front of us, we flagged down a manager. We noticed that customers who had seated 5-10 minutes after us already had food, and we didn't even have bread. Our waitress never came back to check on us, and it wasn't because she was busy. The manager determined that our order had never been entered into the system, and offered to comp our meals. By then we had used up our time, and were forced to leave and do fast food on the way home. This is possibly the worst Bob Evan's that I have ever visited, and the poor training and poor management will doom it to fail. read more

Terrible service and food. We had to wait ten minutes for a table when there were 7 open tables for my party of three. We ordered right away but the food took forever to get brought out. My salad had rotten tomatoes. My son got the piggy pancake they put it in front of him and the pancakes were burnt the bananas were black and they didn't have the grapes for the eyes. They did take it back and got different pancakes and bananas but we were done eating by the time he got it. It was the worst experience and meal that I have had in a while.
