Ordered a simple Biscuits and sausage gravy. The food arrived with a large dinner plate with 2 biscuits and a separate bowl with brown liquidly gravy that looked like baby poop. I requested it change to white gravy. This arrived in a bowl with zero sausage. Taste was not good. Service person was a male that was not very attentive. I was very disappointed. This is our 2nd recent visit to this Bob Evans for breakfast and our 2nd experience with a server named Jenny. The food was typical of any Bob Evans, so no complaint there. But the service from Jenny was horrible both times!! We got the feeling that we interrupted her day, though the restaurant wasn't busy. She was not welcoming nor eager to take our order. Greg waited 12 minutes before even getting coffee and water. No refills were offered during our stay. We waited for our check and had to ask another server for it. Speaking with the General Manager, Michelle, was pointless. She didn't offer an apology for the poor service, but defended her server. Unfortunately, Jenny is the only server for breakfast, so I told Michelle we likely will not return. She didn't seem to care. When we walked in there were about 2 other couples in the place. We were sat, and orders placed. Drinks brought out, the waitress came back a few times to check the coffee. The past few visits we've had to the Plaza Drive Bob Evans in Columbia City have been pretty bad. Get seated at a table and wait at least a half an hour to an hour for our food. Tonight I chose them for my Mother's Day dinner because it's a small town and one of the only restaurants open on a Sunday night. We waited about 30-40min. for our food after we ordered it and my stake wasn't cooked and there was no resolution. Paid full price for a steak dinner and all I got to eat were my mashed potatoes and corn. This isn't the first time this has happened. One morning we were seated and ordered our breakfast and an hour later received it. I'm really disappointed to see this location do so poorly especially since there aren't many other places to eat for a sit down dinner in the area. read more

All while the food is mediocre for practically being warmed up in a microwave. The tables weren't cleaned up to CDC standards. The stores' floors were dirty. On veterans day, you'd expect a dual veteran family to be treated a little bit better. The host was very polite and seated us at a nice clean table. That sums up the positive experience at this location. I had to grab my own high chair (not a big deal), and we were seated for about half an hour without anyone so much as bringing us silverware or taking our drink order. The restaurant did not seem extremely busy, so we were very put off when two different waitresses tended the tables behind, in front and beside us without so much as giving us a look. The icing on the cake was when an elderly couple was seated after we had been waiting for what seemed like forever, and immediately were brought silverware and asked a drink order. We got up and left at that point. We will not be returning to this Bob Evans location nor recommending it to anyone. read more

The food is okay, nothing to write home about. Their ability to consistently mess up my order is nothing but amazing. I think if they replaced the staff with blind dogs I'd consistently get the things I actually ordered. The staff is okay, there's a few people who genuinely have skill in customer service but it's mostly filled with people riddled with toxicity who are just there for a paycheck and put no effort into their job. This place could benefit from firing 80% of their staff and starting over. If you're looking for below average food with a below average experience, this is your place. I'd rather have McDonald's breakfast because when I order an egg McMuffin I always get an egg McMuffin. At Bob Evans I may get someone else's order that's 2 hours old I may not get a side, I may have to wait an additional 30 minutes because they forgot my order. I understand mistakes happen, but their negligence is a consistent habit that's constantly ignored. That negligence is only rivaled by the poor attitude of most workers there. read more

Visited this restaurant about a couple of weeks ago. The broccoli soup had a nice flavor but it would've been nice if it had been more than lukewarm. The side salad could have been a bit more on the fresh side as well... But what really grinds my gears is when a waitress addresses me - EVERYTIME she comes to our table - as "Honey" and "Dear". I am not your "Honey" nor am I your "Dear"... And EVERYTIME you address me as such your tip is slowly going down the lavvy... Oh, and placing our guest check on the table before even asking us if we want any dessert? This place was horrible. I ordered the Grilled Wildfire Chicken salad and it had mostly iceberg lettuce with very little chicken or the other stuff that was listed on the menu. The server never came back to refill the drinks, the dirty dishes sat on the table well after the meal was finished, and she never once checked back to see if everything tasted good. Was in town for a wedding and needed some breakfast before hitting the road. This place had plenty of options for the hearty eater, but I opted for a Denver omelet and my wife got the Farmer's breakfast. Both of us were very surprised and at how delicious our meals were. I am EXTREMELY upset that your staff at the Columbia City store SCOLDED Aunt when she went in to pick up a dinner yesterday. The girl who checked her out stated "THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN! IT SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING NOW! THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE LAST TIME!" My Aunt was in tears by the time she arrived back home. She went to pick up the Turkey Dinner and was SCOLDED and EMBARRASED in front of other people. For the past 4 years, we have picked up a Hot Turkey Dinner and brought it home, always arranged 1-5 days prior to pick up. This year she was yelled at in front of the dining room because "it's not supposed to be served HOT." Really? Since when. After we calmed my Aunt down, I just want you to know that this issue was the topic of our dinner for the next hour or two. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED, FLABBERGASTED, and honestly ANGRY!!
