Country-Fried Steak & Farm-Fresh Eggs*

We ate breakfast here because it was convenient. Overall the food was average. Service was excellent. While I might not go out of my way to have breakfast here I wouldn't avoid it either.

Big egg breakfast with side pancake and warm biscuits
TY Y.

Stopped in for quick breakfast late morning today while in the Columbia area. Was hungry so ordered more than I should've, but it was all served hot and tasty, with friendly service! Ordered Big egg breakfast... 3 eggs cooked over easy perfect as ordered, sausage patties were browned and flavorful but not as moist as I remember for BE, so perhaps not as freshly cooked later in the morning. Hash browns were crisp outside and tender inside, good portion. Also decided I wanted a pancake so ordered 1 side pancake, hit my craving! My better half ordered the Ham, Eggs, and hash browns, all good. Got biscuits instead of toast, they were fresh and warm - suggest asking for some honey to go with biscuits. BE is consistent wherever I go and food is good quality whether breakfast, lunch or dinner; so I like stopping here when traveling for an easy restaurant choice usually nearby a highway. Enjoy!

Restaurants should not spice foods ---some customers cant have salt or pepper because of medical reasons let them do it

I have eaten at Bob Evans a lot ever since it opened Most of the food is real good (Meatloaf nope like dog food) Breakfast excellent Now this morning ummm all good but now they have started spicing the hashbrowns Should leave that to customer Some cant have them because of medical reasons pepper no because of stomachs or allergies salt no because of HBP Calm Enough help it was nice relaxing not crazy like it has been

Just a space in Bob Evans.

This is a great restaurant. Their store hours have changed though, they are open from 6am-9pm, not 10pm.

They brew their own beer and it was all super tasty. The bartender was also nice enough to give me a small sample of two of the beers so I can decide which I wanted to have with my meal. My friend and I shared a pizza, a platter of wings, and a burnt ends plate. First of all- I was shocked how good the pizza was. Given I'm originally from NJ, I'm a bit of a pizza snob. But it was actually quite tasty. The platter of wings was solid. Not the biggest wings in the world, but the plate came with a bunch and the sauce was really good. And the burnt ends were phenomenal. Super tender, lots of flavor. The place itself was very lively- lots of happy, talking people getting ready for the night. Certainly a place to come to feel "energy". I was certainly overly stuffed after this meal- would come back again!

The beers are top-notch -- from the easy-drinking Canned Good and Flor Blanca Mexican Lager to the rich Thresher Porter, they're clearly brewing with care and creativity. The food matches the quality of the beer. We've been here for brunch and highly recommend it -- everything from the eggs to the bread feels fresh and flavorful. I also love how many of their ingredients are sourced locally, which really adds to the quality and uniqueness of each dish. On this visit, we shared the fried cheese curds and the brisket grilled cheese! We also happened to stop by for a jazz night, which was such a fun surprise. The live music totally elevated the atmosphere and made the evening feel special. That said, there's still a bit more they could do with the space -- it would be great to see more regular live music or special events to bring even more life to the room. Prices are a bit higher than average for Columbia, but for the quality, atmosphere, and local charm, it's worth it. Great beer, great food, great people -- a solid 4 stars!

Had really high hopes for this place after a long day on the road. The menu looked inventive and…read moreamazing. Things started out well, the BF had a tasty Manhattan and I had a mocktail that was subtle and delicious, and not overpriced as mocktails often are. But alas. The house salads that we ordered were overdressed in a vinaigrette so acidic we couldn't finish them. And there wasn't much to them. Other than greens and fried shallots and pickled red onions, there was a tiny dusting of some finely grated cheese. And who needs two kinds of onions and nothing else on the salad? Then we each had a bowl of the matzo ball soup, which was ridiculous. Three matzo balls sitting in a quarter-inch of broth that was so unbelievably salty that we couldn't eat that either. We ended up asking for hot water to dilute the broth to a level of saltiness that was edible. The chicken was okay and the matzo balls were okay. A little gummy. But the broth was just awful. It all made me wonder if the chef had lost their sense of taste due to Covid or something. Seriously. I've had that happen to me a couple of times and all I could taste was really basic stuff like sour and salt. And our waitress was totally uninterested in trying to make our experience better. She wasn't rude, she was just indifferent to the fact that we'd been served two courses that we absolutely couldn't eat. Didn't offer us anything to compensate or even express any sympathy about it. We got out of there as fast as we could and made ourselves feel better with an Andy's frozen custard.

Ernie's was not on the list, but once in town both the bride and groom verbally recommended it for breakfast. The wedding was Saturday, so before I left town on Sunday, I filled my tummy with a classic breakfast. It's a popular diner, so there was a line out the door. I will say, the manager/hostess kept it moving. A Karen, cut past several of waiting a went inside and went to take an open stool. She was quickly sent back outside and to the end of the line. The hostess, then came out and told another single diner and myself to come and take which stool we wanted at the counter. Ernie offers 12 different combos for breakfast, I picked one that I thought I wanted. When I ordered and said to hold the buttered toast and give me an half order of Biscuits and Gravy. My waitress was so sweet, she said, nope. She said she was going to save me money by ordering me the #11 and replacing the French Toast with the B&G. That's excellent customer service. My Combo #11 was delicious. Had my eggs scrambled and they were super fluffy and simply seasoned. The three slices of bacon were crispy and the Hash Browns had crispy edges. However, the true star of my breakfast was the Biscuit and Gravy. The biscuit wasn't as fluffy as I'd like, but the gravy was top notch. I love pepper and it was extremely peppery which made me happy. If anyone is going to Columbia, I'd tell them to stop by Ernie's for breakfast. When I come back to COMO, I'm going to stop by for lunch and enjoy a burger. Dick Tracy, thinks about them all the time.
