On a road trip in a big u-haul and hungry for a hardy meal that will keep you going for many miles? Today was my first time to give Bob Evan's Restaurant a try and I was delighted with the menu choices and service! There is plenty of parking for your large vehicle! Believe me, the food is better than your mama cooks!! Angela was our kind and friendly, server. She was so nice to allow us plenty of time to look over the menu and brought me choices for a cup of tea and fresh honey! What a great start to a fabulous meal! The restaurant is large with tables of all sizes for large groups or single customers. It is a clean environment that was a real treat on a road trip! I had a large appetite for a small sized girl and ordered two items. Fresh oatmeal with brown sugar, milk, pecans and cranberries. Plus biscuits and sausage gravy which was a taste bud pleaser! My table mate had something he loved. Pancakes with an egg, bacon and cheese in between the two pancakes. He raved about it as it looked to me like a pancake biscuit. I was craving fish and BE had a fish meal so I ordered it and it was awful! The fish was all dried out, and the sides weren't good either. The waitress was only so so and it was after the lunch crowd. I gave them a try and I will never be back. read more

The service is extremely slow. Can take over an hour to get food after ordering. Servers generally do not check on guests beyond taking order. Could be waiting even longer to get the check. What should be a 45 minute to an hour visit can take twice as long waiting for service. read more

Stopped in for quick breakfast late morning today while in the Columbia area. Was hungry so ordered more than I should've, but it was all served hot and tasty, with friendly service! Ordered Big egg breakfast... 3 eggs cooked over easy perfect as ordered, sausage patties were browned and flavorful but not as moist as I remember for BE, so perhaps not as freshly cooked later in the morning. Hash browns were crisp outside and tender inside, good portion. Also decided I wanted a pancake so ordered 1 side pancake, hit my craving! My better half ordered the Ham, Eggs, and hash browns, all good. Got biscuits instead of toast, they were fresh and warm - suggest asking for some honey to go with biscuits. BE is consistent wherever I go and food is good quality whether breakfast, lunch or dinner; so I like stopping here when traveling for an easy restaurant choice usually nearby a highway. Well, the manager there is fantastic. He tries very hard to do a good job and provide good service. The cooks... less so. I got a lot of lukewarm food there, and when the waitress took it back, the kitchen staff shoved it in the microwave and sent it back with the initial bite still missing. Terrible service by the server I had but the server for the table next to me was great. I needed water, more napkins besides the one the fork and spoon are wrapped in. After delivering my food to my table, the next time I was visitors by my server (bald male) he gave me my ticket. So that was weird. Sunday of parents weekend - line out the door! The hostess was writing down names, seating people and clearing tables. This young girl was busting her butt with a smile. Our waitress was friendly and efficient - took our order right away and brought our drinks quickly. A couple of people brought out our food. You can tell this place has great teamwork and is used to being busy! We really enjoyed our breakfast - omelettes, pancakes, biscuits & gravy, etc... This was the absolute worst dining experience I've ever had !!! After waiting an hour for our food to arrive at table . It wasn't even edible , chicken was cold In middle And missing avocado which was supposed to be slices on the top , waitress brought back mashed up avocado in a bowl to spread on top. Daughters ordered BLT , bacon was raw waitress asked if she would rather have crispy bacon and she said yes so she brought more bacon back , this time it was burnt and still not edible , toasted bread so hard you couldn't bite it . Needless to say this was the biggest waste of money and time and we will NEVER be back here and will NEBER recommend that anyone eat here . Very high priced. 4 pieces of cocktail shrimp for $19... for a debrief of the menu. Overall the food was good, service was very slow and we waited forever for appetizers, drinks, and our main course meals. Completely shocked to get a $600 bill with 4 adults and 2 kids. We visited Bob Evans for the first time last night. The service was good and the restaurant was clean however the food was not good. The salad wasn't fresh and had a rust look to it. I actually love eating here. Just watched the manager (guy wearing yellow shirt) tell his employee to "shut up" because she was getting stressed about the amount of customers walking in. I assume they could only get the two girls to waitress as he mentioned he knows it's only the two of them. I was just trying to pay for my meal and his couldn't have cared less, apparently. I was the guy wearing overalls (in case he reads this). So, I will keep eating here but someone should probably look into those managerial characteristics. Servers have always been delightful. At 45 min they seated a group of five that had just walked in over my group of four. The hostess had an attitude with customers before me and continued on to me. It had been nine years since I've eaten at Bob Evans. My wife and I went in one Sunday afternoon and we were pleasantly surprised. Atmosphere: Very laid-back and relaxed place to eat. Pretty much a diner situation but, laid out much bigger. The noise was very minimal and the manager was going around talking to everybody at their table. He was extremely polite. They have T-shirts and hats at the front to purchase. They also have candles and their own Bob Evans sauce for sale. Food: I had steak and eggs with a side order of steamed broccoli and a glass of water with lemon. The meal was fantastic! Apparently it was a 6 ounce sirloin but, it did not taste quite right to me. It complemented the scrambled eggs with cheese very well though. :-). My wife had something that seemed to be a very large grilled cheese sandwich that she seem to enjoy very much. The food could be much larger and portions for the cost that you spend there. But, it is a wonderful breakfast restaurant when you're looking for some good home cooking. Service: It is a hair slow. But, I have been to much slower places. This is the main reason I'm giving this restaurant four stars. Our waitress was not very attentive to us. I had to call her over several times just to get a glass of water. Other than that, I found this to be a wonderful place to eat that's fairly reasonable in price. Seriously bad service... arrived at 10:30 hoping for a quick meal as my kid had to be on the field at 11:45. Sat down and began to wait.. ten minutes go by and people get sat on both sides of us. Waitress comes out gets the order behind us and then our waiter comes and gets the order in front of us. I have only been coming here for breakfast so this review is specifically for that meal. The restaurant is always spotlessly clean and the service is pretty darned good as well. I don't much care for their coffee, but I am a coffee snob...the rest of the guys in my group that I meet there seem to like it just fine. Eggs, sausage links, toast, hash browns...seems hard to mess this up. However, the hash brown often have a hint of cinnamon flavor - like a pancake was cooked right before it and it picked up a little flavor from the griddle. It is not overwhelming by any means, but I think it takes away from the hash browns. The rest is spot on. The kink sausages are my fave as the bacon and sausage patties are less tasty IMHO. I can't give this 5 stars - but I am comfortable with this 4 star rating. read more

We came in at 4pm. The restaurant was fairly bare and we met someone there who was already at a table. We were greeted promptly and got our drinks quickly. Soon after we placed our order, everything seemed pretty standard at this point. So we waited, and waited, and waited. Before we knew it my husband looked at his phone and nearly 45 minutes had passed. Our waitress had checked on us within the first 15 minutes, but then though she had come within viewing distance she had not checked on us since then. Our food finally arrived and our waitress came over to let us know that it wasn't her fault, the manager hadn't told the runner to bring us our food, though it was ready a long time ago. Thanks. Good to know. Fruit on my daughter's plate was warm it had been so long. Over easy eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon were deemed pretty good.
