Seems to be poorly managed. There was a line to pay when we walked in. One party of 2 in front of us. We were also a party of 2. Most tables were empty and seemed to have plenty of staff. Most of tables needed cleaned and in the 45 minutes+ we were there, didn't see anyone clean a single table. Waitress forgot our drinks, realized she forgot, apologized and then took another 5 minutes to get our drinks. The line for people to pay would come and go as the girl in charge of the register would go in the back when there wasn't any more line. I'm not saying she wasn't working, but people were always waiting several minutes before she'd come back to the register. Food wasn't very good. Sausage gravy just tasted canned and the biscuits were old. Everything was room temperature except for the potatoes. We're used to the excellent food and service at the Bloomington location and were very disappointed with this restaurant. read more

Hate posting this since I love Bob Evans as a brand, and am from Southern Indiana, but today was a flat-out bad experience. Not terrible, but bad. Food was over oily and drenched in oil and butter. Tried to get server's attention after 10 minutes of no attention, and when tried to wave down wait staff, was mocked by a manager in the kitchen who was waving directly eye to eye in my direction - absolutely insulting. After food was dropped, wait staff never came back to the table...could have walked the check but wouldn't do that...had to find the staff to get the check. Cashier stand couldn't take debit or credit cards - seriously? On a busy Sunday? Bad experience overall. Sad - Bob Evans branding has totally deteriorated. Very sad. read more

I love the variety on the Bob Evans menu. There are several yummy options to choose from for every meal of the day. The pancakes I had on this visit were very tasty, and the eggs and bacon were pretty good as well. I wasn't a huge fan of the potatoes, but they weren't terrible. Service was a bit slow at first - I believe there was a shift change after we received our drinks, but all was smooth sailing after that. read more

Waited an hour for scrambled eggs with biscuits and gravy only to be ignored. After finally getting the food it was cold and rubbery. Spoke to the manager on duty and she claimed that was pretty standard so I didn't eat it and left. That's disgusting they serve you cold food and get mad if your not happy with it. We ordered our Thanksgiving meal and picked it up. We arrived on time but our two meals were not ready. Then they sat for another ten minutes while we waited to pay.The food was not bad but we expected better quality for $16 a plate. We each got one spoonful of cranberry relish! We still tipped 20% because they were working on a holiday. Drove six miles back home and discovered they had not included our pie. Went back for the pie and there was no apology or any offer to make up for our trouble. Got home and they hadn't even included whipped cream for our pumpkin pie. Stopped in 2 nights ago for an early, 3pm, dinner the night before oral surgery. I was so looking forward to having a good juicy burger. First off, the restaurant is always freezing cold and I was more than happy to be placed close to the exit and glad I brought my corduroy jacket. I ordered the Steakhouse Burger. I asked for the bacon on the side so my husband could add to his meal. The burger arrived with the bacon as I asked, provolone cheese and a drop of A.1. sauce. No sautéed onions or mushrooms. I ate my coleslaw which thank goodness I ordered and fries while waiting for the server to return to tell her about my burger issues. She finally returned and I told her about the onions and mushrooms being missing and she agreed stating that she had just brought the same burger out to the customer seated behind us and it was done right, so that made me to ponder why she even brought my burger to me when you could plainly see it was not dressed right. She went into the kitchen as I was thinking they would make make me a new burger correctly this time. Nope! She returned almost 15 minutes later with a small bowl of grilled onions, no mushrooms. She said sorry, I had to wait for the cook to make them and then she walked away. So I guess they expected me to eat a cold burger that had sat on my plate for about 30 minutes at this point and to put hot onions. Maybe the two Temps will cancel each other out and I might achieve something lukewarm?? Definitely not the hot, juicy, as described in the menu burger. Oh it doesn't stop there. I cut my burger in half which I always do, took a bite, looked down, and what do I see? That's right, not just Pink meat, but red almost mooing in my ear meat. From the outside edge to the middle the only brown to behold was where it was quickly seared on the outsides. I think someone was trying to kill me. I did not order a rare burger. I was close to tears. I should have just gone to a fast food spot, but wanted to treat hubby to breakfast foods. Thank goodness his meal was good and he enjoyed the bacon that I gave him. So, Bob Evans, what is the deal?? More training, new grill cook, more attentive food expeditor, servers that care about every plate and make sure they are correct BEFORE leaving the kitchen and hitting the table? I think all of those things would have increased the likelihood that I would had a gre8at "last meal" and be looking forward to our next meal, but instead it left me wondering how long it might take to get me to go back for another, hopefully delicious meal again. read more

I have never been to a Bob Evans that they didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground. My sister and mom and I stopped for dinner and they were out of quite a bit of food. After eating we waited for about 5 to 10mins for our check and our waitress never stopped by. We slowly walked up to the register and our waitress told us to have a nice day. It's sad when we have to bring it to your waitress's attention that we never received our check. If we weren't honest people we could have walked out without paying. This appears to be a new location, or it is extremely well kept up and clean. My fiancé and I came here for breakfast before a trip back to Kentucky after visiting my relatives. Our server was attentive and helpful. I asked for my eggs over easy and they came out with yolks a little runny-so perfect. The bacon was crispy and the biscuits were fluffy. The jam is on the table already so we didn't have to ask for any. The prices are reasonable. The breakfast menu has mini options with less food than the regular size for only $4.99! read more

Not that I have something personal against Bob, I just find it difficult to pay for something that I could have easily made in less time at half the price in my own kitchen. The food and service was actually much better than I expected. Pretty friendly waitress who kept our coffee full and stopped by every few minutes. Her only shortfall was attempting to find the one bottle of hot sauce in the restaurant which was being used by another couple at a table. We've been to this location 3 times now and I had held out hope that we were coming on "bad nights." But after tonight, we won't be back. Each of the 3 times we've been in, we've gotten the same greeting. "We're really sorry, but we only have 2 servers tonight." Needless to say service was painfully slow, and I've come to the conclusion that this is the standard practice vs outlying days. Management and owners need to address some serious staffing issues. Second, they were out of the banana nut bread and talked me into a different bread that wasn't what I wanted. They checked on me even though I didn't order much. We have been to this location several times. I think of the 5 or 6 times we've been in the last year ALL of them were bad experiences. The food is decent but the service is horrible. You end up leaving frustrated. This last visit we were seated by the server with menus. We waited for someone to take our order for 15 minutes. Nobody came to wait on us, but several people who came in after us were helped. There were several waitresses who saw us and did not come over to ask if we'd been helped, as we clearly hadn't because we didn't even have drinks. We got up and left. This is one of our favorite places to eat in Bedford. I would recommend asking for Kristen as a server if she is working. She is extremely kind. If we have a problem, the staff are usually quick to fix it. There are few servers that aren't attentive. It is a great place that is family friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone eating out in Bedford. The prices are not bad either. Some foods are cheaper than others as they are at any place. The food was good, we never seem to have an issue with that here. However, the service was not. Our server Mariah was very inattentive and rude. When my fiancé ordered the "build your own" omelette, he requested no onions and with bacon etc. She explained that she wasn't sure if they can do that and then tried to convince him to keep the onions. When he said he didn't prefer them she said "well the kitchen might get mad but I'll see what I can do". Why would a server say that to a guest? Also, we noticed the family behind us didn't get greeted for at least 5 minutes after she saw them get sat while taking our order and she never checked back with us after we got our food. By the time we were ready to leave, she abruptly gave us our check and walked away. We needed a Togo box but she never came back or stuck around long enough for us to ask. I ate at Bob Evans last week & I was very disappointed with my meal. I got the turkey dinner with dressing, mashed potatoes & a spoonful of cranberry sauce. The dressing was awful, very dark color & not fit to eat. There was a couple of small slices of turkey, the mashed potatoes didn't taste homemade & the cranberry serving was not hardly enough to taste. The yeast rolls were good.
