Quick and friendly service with plenty of outdoor seating. The menu is massive and I have a hard time believing they excel at making everything on that menu. They had everything from sandwiches/wraps to pasta and pizza. The prices were reasonable for a seasonal lake town and it was nice that they run the food to your table outside, even though it's counter service. I enjoyed my wrap and my daughter liked her basic grilled cheese. The portions were the perfect size for a quick lunch. We wished they had sides to choose from though. We had a salad, a panini, and a grilled cheese sandwich, and they were all terrible. The chicken was the lowest quality we have ever had. It tasted like rubber and looked undercooked. My 18-year-old daughter loves to order grilled cheese, but she said the cheese tasted weird and fake. I told the staff and owner about the "fake" chicken, and he refused to refund my money for the salad. The owner didn't even come out to apologize. We are from NY and we were looking for a place to eat with our dog. The Boardwalk Premium Deli did not disappoint, at all. I got the smoked turkey Panini and my husband got the chicken quesadilla. Great flavor in my panini with the sun dried tomatoes. Great job!!! The husband said it was a nice surprise that the quesadilla tasted so good too. My family and I were enjoying a nice day in Saugatuck and had a craving for ice cream. We saw the Hudsonville Ice Cream sign in the window and decided to go into Boardwalk which was cramped and unimpressive. They had a limited selection but we all found a flavor to get a single scoop. We weren't thrilled about paying $6 for a single scoop but oh well.....its ice cream. As we sat down on the deck to enjoy our $6 scoop, a staff member exited the front door and within 3 feet of us began hitting her vape pipe like it was an inhaler during an asthma attack and blowing the peach vape exhaust all over the place while she talked on her phone. When I confronted her, she looked confused and said well I can't vape indoors to which we replied, "so you choose to do it in front of your shop where we are trying to enjoy our ice cream?" She didn't have much to say but did move away. My suggestion is that if you are craving ice cream in Saugatuck, pick one of the many places in town that understand family values and common courtesy. Boardwalk certainly does not. read more

Not sure how this establishment received an average of 4 stars. This was our first time here-the one saving grace is outside seating. We had the house special salad and quinoa salad with tuna. The dressing was on the side in packets. Ingredients weren't totally fresh and seemed to have come from a Kroger supermarket. The other saving grace was they served Hudsonville ice cream. This place is perfect if you are looking for a quick healthy bite. Me and my family were not that hungry but we wanted something in our bellies, so we went here. It was a little confusing where to sit at first but there is this section in the place where you order with a couple tables and a booth. There is a sit down place outside, but that wasn't an option since it was raining at the time. The sandwhiches were really good. I got the mediterranean, my mom got the avocado quesadilla, and my dad got the Jerusalem, which were all very good, but the Jerusalem was probably my favorite. There are so many option that my little sister, who is a very picky eater was able to order something. The only thing that knocks this down to four star is that me and my family were going to get the press juice, but it was close, but the worker was so nice that he was willing to open up again just for us, but we told him no. Cute small town deli with a lot of options. I am only assuming they were the owners took my order and made my food I grabbed a gardener sandwich yesterday. It was absolutely delicious. Anytime I'm around one of Michigan's Lakes in the summer, I have to get ice cream. My friends and I stopped here with it being the closest to us. We waited in quite the line that was well out the door. I don't mind the wait. The ice cream was very good, but the flavor options could have been better. Growing up in Michigan, I'm used to ice cream places having too many choices to pick from, but at this location, I found myself only seeing one flavor that looked good to me. I probably could have gotten the same thing somewhere outside of this tourist area for cheaper, but it satisfied the need for ice cream in that moment. read more

My wife and I and our grand son went to get ice cream last night, I bought two baby ice creams in a cup and I got a small cone, $13.00 for it all. I got just outside the door and my ice cream fell off my cone and onto the ground, I went back and told the clerk what happened that he did not pack it tight enough and he told me that I would have to buy another scoop. We will never go back there, as I read previous posts this sounds like a regular occurrence, obviously they do realize they they are in the service industry and they rely on customers in the summertime to make their money. TO NOTE FIRST: Amazing food! Tons of super healthy options! Best view of the water and the town to sit outside and eat! So happy I stumbled on this place! I was walking around town with my little dog and it's always 50/50 whether a restaurant will let me walk in with her (carrying her). I walked in and asked if I could place a carry out with her really quick and then step outside to wait. The owner said, "sure! You can wait inside with her if you want!" So welcoming! I'm not sure if this would be the case if she was a large dog but they were totally cool with me holding her inside. We ended up sitting outside to eat where they have tons of outdoor seating in the sun and shade! Also, a covered table on the deck if it's raining. They have a beautiful corner location with a view of the water and the town! I got the Vermont wrap, dairy free, and it was AMAZING! I also had the fresh real ginger ale juice. It was so ginger-y!
