I'm giving this place three stars because the service was good, my waitress was very friendly. They have a really cool view of the boardwalk from the outdoor section of the restaurant. And the dish I ordered was pretty good. I dined here with my 10-year-old daughter. She told me she just wanted pasta with salt and butter, quite the flavor profile she has. This item was not on the menu. However once I explained it to the waitress she said sure they can make that. I wanted something somewhat healthy so I ordered the broiled seafood dish with vegetables and mashed potatoes. My daughter and I had a good time people watching everyone on the boardwalk at around 9:30 at night. A Lot of characters walking around. When our food arrived my daughter is very happy with your dish. I also loved my dish, now it wasn't a highest of quality of fish and most of the seafood pieces were small. But it all tasted very good and was not overcooked. It was doused in some type of butter sauce . I was part of the clean clean plate club that night so I really can't complain. I would definitely return here just to sit outside and people watch. This is the type of place where you can't expect a five-star dining experience. It's a Shore bar that happens to sell food. After a fun filled at at the beach and boardwalk, we came to check out Boardwalk Bar and Grill. We didn't wait long for a rooftop seat to enjoy the beautiful beach and boardwalk views. Our server was great, she was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed and wanted (I wish I remembered her name!). We started with the nachos which were ok. It just reminded me of Tostitos with sub par toppings. I really enjoyed my California Dreaming salad -- it was pretty big and the flavors were there! It was sweet and savory. Really crowded, would recommend y'all to plan your visit. Luckily we got a table upstairs with the best views of the boardwalk and the beach. They took so much time to get our order that we had to request someone to attend us but the waitress compensated by checking on us every 20-30 mins going forward. Oh !! So here's what I gave to say about this place ... The beach view is really beautiful from the roof and the food there is always good , our bartender was very helpful and nice too . The down side was the bathroom was absolutely horrible :( , I understand this is a beach bar but they should clean the bathroom more frequently. The hostess was RUDE , she kept saying there was a waiting list and yet we walked upstairs to the bar and there were about 8 tables empty , so what was the waiting list for ? We had a terrific experience at Boardwalk Bar & Grill. We were a party of 6 on a Wednesday night. Luckily they had a table for us on the rooftop. Our server was fantastic. She gave us plenty of time (with no pressure) to decide what we wanted. The food was ready faster than we expected. Burgers were huge, fresh and cooked to order with a nice, chewy kaiser roll. The fries were definitely made with fresh potatoes and perfectly done! The chicken quesadilla was loaded with chicken and cheese. Pasta was delivered as promised with marinara on the side. There is an option between sitting upstairs and having a view of the beach or sitting downstairs. The floors both have different menus and drink specials. We sat downstairs for 1/2 priced margaritas and pina colada's. I thought the hostess and our sever were both really nice. The guacamole was really good. Our drinks seemed a little strong and I think likely the cause of our stomach aches. The shrimp tacos really smelt like shit. My date was explaining to me that they smell like shit because they are boiled, but I think she was talking shit as well. I appreciate that slot of placed have fun with fish tacos but these were pretty generic. At least they didn't taste like shit too, maybe they were the cause of the stomach aches, we may never know. We shared the blackened salmon and it was phenomenal. The crunchy flavorful skin amd tender center went together nicely. The rice was also good. I don't fuck with refried beans. The cost was a little high, but consistent with everything on the boardwalk being overpriced. They used paper straws but I'm still very disappointed to see plastic ramekins and plastic utensils being used at all, especially at a restaurant at the beach. read more

Being that there are a small list of bars on this boardwalk (2 others being huge venues with a lot to offer), this bar really needs to step it up. We came on a Friday night and sat upstairs. It was not busy yet the bartenders took a while to come over to take our drinks. They are not too attentive. We ordered the 42oz Margarita for two. After filling the glass with ice, the liquid probably equaled about 2 drinks, totally NOT worth it. The chicken nuggets and fries did seem frozen, but my daughter ate them without a problem. PROS: This place is a restaurant I always wanted to go to when at the beach. They have a great rooftop bar that overlooks the boardwalk and beach. The food is affordable, good, and has a strong variety while the staff is nice. They also have a lower level that caters the same experience to the customers, minus the views CONS: There tends to be a long wait time for the rooftop area which makes it harder to get into vs other bars on the boardwalk OVERALL: If there is a spot for you to eat at on the rooftop I highly suggest for you to take it! read more

When we walked in, we got into a problem. We had 2 families, and we couldn't all sit together. Staff was very helpful and while we couldn't all sit together, we sat very close to each other's tables. Waitress was energetic and helpful. We did need to wait a while for our food + drinks, but it was all worth it in the end. I ordered Fish & Chips. Fish was very crunchy and flavorful. The fries had a unique seasoning to them. Yes please! It was sooo good! And strong lol. Plus you get to keep the cup. However! It's plastic so I asked him if they have a glass one I can take him and he kindly brought me one of their glass margarita cups. It was so nice of him! Also ordered the broiled seafood combo. The deviled crab, shrimp scallops and clams were all so good! The founder was meh. The veggies were like the kind you buy frozen in a bag and heat up lol. But it's ok it was $24.95. I would recommend coming here if you want to have a nice view of the beach. The rooftop dining area is great! Most of the food here is pretty run-of-the-mill, but my strawberry avocado salad (which came with pecans and goat cheese, also) was absolutely flipping delicious! I did not expect such a refreshing, fresh, scrumptious salad from a place like this. It was huge and I ate the entire thing! The fries were decent, as were the mozz sticks. this place is better than what people make it out to be. we came here two days in a row for dinner - that's how impressed we were with it. i got the lobster roll both days and even added a salad the second day along with calamari because, why not! everything that i had here was reallyyy good. the only reason why it lost a star is because i think they can do better with organizing/serving their staff. the tables don't get cleaned right away and the servers take their time to come seat & serve us. but otherwise, the food is a 10/10 and i definitely recommend coming here compared to the other packed restaurants nearby read more

Looking for an alcoholic beverage on the boardwalk after some excellent Chippy's Fries, heard music, and went in. We sat at the bar and ordered 2 mixed drinks. I can tell you right off that the alcohol was some generic stuff that did not taste right. The music turned out to be, not live, well, the karaoke singers were live, but you get the idea. It was fun to watch the singers and the bar tender and bouncer were pleasant enough. I can't comment on the food or view from upstairs. read more

The boardwalk bar & grill is a restaurant located on the Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk approximately 300 meters north of Arnold Avenue. The bar is situated in the back with about 10+ tables and as you walk through towards the boardwalk you come across the snack bar. Upstairs you can dine on their roof. I don't know when they built that part, but it must be hard on the servers going from floor to floor. I did not have a full meal here. But I had a slice of pizza which was very good. I may or may not go back. There is, at this time, not much incentive to go. read more

Well, first time to New Jersey and found ourselves at Boardwalk Bar & Grill. Asked for a table upstairs next to the glass for a view. We were put on a waiting list and the young lady downstairs told us a table was now available. As we went upstairs another lady met us and said we can sit at bar or a table by a brick wall as that is all that is available. We elected just to sit at the bar. I told her about being on the list but she didn't care. I tried to be as polite as possible and told her this was our first visit to Jersey and noticed another table for a total of two available. Definitely overpriced, but we went during the day so it wasn't super crowded. It has a decent view of the beach. We ordered salads, which were fresh and flavorful. I really enjoyed the raspberry vinaigrette. It took a few minutes for someone to serve us, but our server was nice and we didn't wait too long for our food. I probably wouldn't come back here. After twenty minutes passed I approached the hostess and she said the've been calling me! How can I hear my name when a million people are talking at the same time? Nice place for a good drink, snack, and an ocean view. Dining companion and I enjoyed early lunch there on an in crowded Friday afternoon. FOOD: I had a crab cake sandwich and my dining companion had the beef sliders. They have two kinds. He had the non-Kobe ones. Both orders were accompanied by fries, pickles and coleslaw. Was the crab cake high end, pricey, seafood restaurant caliber? No. But this isn't a linen napkin joint. I thought it was quite tasty and a more than a notches above what's available in your local supermarket freezer aisle. The coleslaw tasted homemade and the fries were crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside. Dining companion wasn't as happy with his dish. The meat on the sliders was okay but they were topped with enormous chunks of unmelted mozzarella cheese. All the ingredients individually were good. They just didn't quite go together. BEV: My dining companion has water, so I felt duty bound to drink for the both of us. Two jalapeño margaritas for me! Drink was served icy cold, and well mixed with a heavy hand in a real-glass (Not plastic) glass. Very good! AMBIENCE and SERVICE: We were attended to by a professional and friendly waiter with good knowledge of the menu. Oh, hey, bartender! Barrrrtennnnder? Do you think my shirt is ugly? Look at me! When we finally were able to get the attention of the bartender, we figured we would voyage beyond the traditional Coronas and Margaritas to get some real deal down-the-shore mixed drinks. I did not expect responses that included, but were not limited to... "let me see the ingredients" "we don't have that" "we don't have that either" "I can't make that" ... "I CAN make that!" Wait, no. No you cannot. I don't know what I got, but it wasn't the "quintessential Jersey Shore drink" as promised by the menu. No worries. When we finally got seated, we returned back to the land of normal drinks and got some food. Despite the experience at the bar, the food was actually really good. We inhaled the clam strips, lopped bread in the lobster bisque, and my blackened mahi-mahi salad was tops. Sure, a little pricey, but I would expect that on the boardwalk. Unless you want funnel cake and ice cream for lunch, you can't really go wrong. Word to the wise: There is a little problem of people going upstairs to use the bathroom or something like that (I didn't know there was one up there). I ventured downstairs to the bathroom and on my way back I was stopped, having someone tell me that I wasn't allowed up. I explained I was sitting at the bar, but the lady (owner?) said NOPE because she didn't see me there a few minutes ago when she was up there. Of course, I was in the bathroom. I was relaxed, (it is the beach after all) so I challenged her to follow me and I proceeded to blow by her & the security buddy and up the stairs. They followed....and were in the red.
