my name is Yasmine I worked here for about 4-5 months and it was quite an experience within itself . Regular Employees are amazing nothing but a joy to work with. Management itself was another thing. It's a hit or miss with them and half the time they can't even help you or even know what they are doing lol if you're planning for a long term job I wouldn't chose here because they literally let me go without any cause nor any warning. They're reason was because I was "disrespectful " but never wrote me up nor talked to me about it . Personally I think it was personal. You're either a favorite or not. If you try to voice how you feel or your opinion you're an automatic target OR they tell you "well we have a suggestion box " which is basically saying " yeah I don't really wanna here it " they never address issues head on and wonder why things continue to be how they are. Which makes sense because the owner can barely figure out how to work the register himself lol ( go figure ) you ask him a question his famous line is "that's a good question I'll get back to you " never does lol Management definitely has favorites , and picks and chooses when to be a manager. One day they can pull you aside and tell you all they're personal life . ( I seen them literally take employees off the sales floor just to vent ) Next day they are choosing to be a manager and get on you for the littlest things . Like I said the employees were WONDERFUL . I appreciate everyone but keep in mind if you apply here it's very wishy washy . Right after they told me they were gonna keep me after my 3 months they let me go without notice nor reason. My first two months I was getting sexually harassed by another employee and one of the man managers witnessed it but never defended me or asked me if I was okay . This harassment was constant and I felt like I couldn't speak up because the person who I was getting harassed by was a favorite by one of the managers. So there goes that lol I never spoke up but you can genuinely tell on my face I was uncomfortable. Although all this happened I am grateful for lexy and drackus . Those two are solid ass people and have so much going for them... some of this review may be of out spite but nothing I said wasn't the truth . You can give them you're all and they'll still shit on you regardless. It's located on a cute shopping street and has a very well organized (by type) selection of games, sale and consignment sale games, massive play area, neat and clean with friendly managers. This is by far my favorite shop in Redlands. The selection is terrific, the organization of the products is intuitive, the atmosphere is fun and relaxed, and the staff are about the friendliest people in town. Every time I go in they're helpful in either explaining and evaluating games, making recommendations, ordering items, or just chatting about games. Their events are also great, whether it's MTG Commander Night, miniature painting, opportunities to learn new games, or chess in the part, they always seem to have something happening. This shop is a must-visit for anyone living in or near Redlands. Board game shop mixed with event hosting almost every day of the week. They have an excellent inventory of board games for all ages. There's also a wide selection of card games like Magic the Gathering and Pokemon, which is great in the community. My only reason for the 4-star instead of 5 is that I am a regular Magic player and the Thursday night event gets overly crowded some weeks to the point it's no longer enjoyable. There's a definite preference of profit vs. player comfort in these cases. Some players are very sensitive to noisy and crowded spaces. Just be aware when coming that there is no limit to how many can show up for an event and accommodations for space are generally not made when too many show up. The upstairs room expansion was great when the first wave of popularity came in, however even that has become too little of space to host everyone if no one is limiting how many can be there at once. These guys have been so amazing since the day they opened. I was so excited to see a legit board game store pop up and I really wanted to support since they opened during the pandemic. They know their products and of they don't have hands on experience with a game, they can speak to how the game play is and usually know someone else in the store who has had gameplay. I have always been greeted by pleasant, upbeat staff members who ask engaging questions about which games I am hoping to purchase. They offer tips for my preferred games and suggestions for additional games I might like. The store is clean, organized by levels of difficulty, and well-stocked. Prices are only a smidgeon higher than at big-box stores and online retailers, but those few dollars are totally worth it to me for personal game tutors and friendly faces while I support a LOCAL business. Best board game store I've been to (probably best store I've been too, period- but let's focus). I've interacted with 4 different employees and each one was knowledgeable and kind. They asked great questions in order to help me find a game for me and they did! I never buy a game without watching at least 4 video reviews or so but I bought 3 at their recommendation and was happy with each one. The stock is incredible and very well organized- on my first visit, I kept thinking "wonder if they have this?" Yep. "Wonder if they have that?" Yep. I didn't even make it to the back room they have for playing games, which is also awesome. They also treated my toddler well, which gets anyone points. Anyway, you can tell they are focused on connecting people to each other and building bridges to new gamers, which is totally what a board game store should focus on.
