They said they aren't using salt/pepper to be more "healthy", and pointed me to a pile of disposable salt/pepper packets on the counter. I get if you want to leave out salt/pepper in your recipe, but there are other seasonings. I love the sandos here so much ! I've lived in the area forever but never tried them out. The tuna sandwich is my go to and it is SO filling ! It is fairly quiet inside and not much really going on around lunch time. They have a wide variety of sandwiches and salads to try. The employees are also very nice and patient. They offer a decent selection of beers, which is also good and they have healthier chip options which I very much appreciate. Because this is new I look for a familiar sandwich although they have many unique ones. I saw the french dip. There was this melon canned rink called Mela I also tried since it sounded refreshing. The french dip wasn't the best. The bread was good, cheese good, but the meat was really dry. I've had many french dips, its my go to if I see a restaurant offers it. The au jus was decent. I usually order their Veggie Supreme in a french baguette or a wrap. The veggies they use are always fresh and crispy. I like to eat it with a side of their signature sauce. I love that the sandwiches are a nice size so I usually can't finish a full one and have some left over. Parking is never an issue here as there is plenty of parking. Ordered a beef sandwich and asked for NO onions and NO jalapeño. I also paid a ridiculous $2 for avocados which were not in my sandwich. There was so much jalapeño and onions that the entire sandwich tasted like it after I removed as much of them as I could so I could not even enjoy one bite of my sandwich because the bread itself tasted like onions and japaneños. My sandwich definitely had more toppings than protein, as you can see in the picture. I only ate half of my wrap and saved the other half the next day, so yay for getting two meals out of this. Today is the soft opening for this new location just across the street from the Target on Bristol. They are offering $3 beers for the next 30 days through their grand opening a month from now. We walked in at 10:30am, just 1/2 hour after they opened and there was already 4 guests taking advantage of the discounted alcohol prices. That's one way to start a weekend. HA! My favorite item here is the California Delight. It's loaded with meat, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and cream cheese. I love the addition of sunflower seeds too. Oh and you gotta get their house made sauce. It adds a great flavor! These sandwiches are pretty big, so the price definitely justifies what you get. I've gotten the Turkado and it had great ingredients as well super soft french bread! They have a rotating selection of beers on tap you can choose from. This one in Santa Ana/ South Coast Metro is a big improvement over the Mexican place that was here before. There's a lot of patio space and floor to ceiling windows on two sides. Food offerings are the same sandwiches and salads as other locations. Some of the beers are at every B&B but all of them rotate the majority of their taps. Oddly, there was a secret menu that looked far more appetizing than what we had to choose from on the standard menu. The chicken was well seasoned, but nothing else was. It seems as though the flavor is expected to be derived from the"secret sauce" instead of the item itself. We were disappointed, and hope for improvements. It's a great location, and very clean. While the wrap was loaded with jalapeños that gave it heat, the bland, dry chicken and veggies that were although fresh--just existed to take up space in the wrap. The potato salad was decent. Nestled between two thick slices of sourdough bread were tender slices of juicy turkey piled so high I could hardly wrap my mouth around it! Fresh buttery crushed avocado juicy tomato sweet red onion cheese and crisp shredded lettuce finished the remaining layers of ingredients. It also came with a side of their addictively good sandwich sauce in tow. I'd say it was like thousand island but with a tangy twist. Very tasty I might add and you'll want to slather it on top of every decadent bite. I honestly couldn't eat the entire sandwich in one sitting, so I saved the rest for later. Definitely a great value for what you get and the quality is bar none compared to other sandwich spots.
