We had BnK Chem-Dry service our downstairs area with special treatment to a very small area (approx. 2' strip) with pet stain remover solution. The woman proceeded to saturate the small area with a half gallon of liquid solution. When I witnessed this I was concerned, but when she was done I couldn't really tell if it did more damage than good. My question was answered the next morning when all of the carpet dried. There was a HUGE area stained with solution where the half gallon was poured. The company had the same woman come out to fix it. She did not fix it, and we still have a huge stain where a very small one used to be. It's embarrassing to have people over to our home and see it. I wish we never called this company; we'll probably have to re-carpet our downstairs because of them. read more

I do that when there is something negative to say, but I want to cluster it with positive things, so it won't look like an overall bad review. I have nothing negative to say about BnK Chem-Dry, so I guess this will have to be a boring review. We needed rugs, furniture, and cushions cleaned. We called them. They did everything right. They responded quickly to our inquiry, scheduled us fast, arrived exactly when they said they would, did the work cheerfully and well, left everything cleaner than I had ever seen it before, and finished on time. The name of the company has "Chem" in it, so I was a little worried that there might be bad chemicals or strange smells or something like that. I have pets and grandchildren, and didn't want to worry. Mostly they used various forms of detergent; occasionally some spot remover. The spot remover that I use in my laundry room smells worse and has more warnings on the jar. When the cleaners left after finishing their work, the room smelled like damp sofa cushions and not like chemicals. It's now the next day, and almost everything is dry. After my terrible experience with Zerorez, I am so glad I called ChemDry! I had four antique Turkish rugs I needed cleaned, and ChemDry was a third the cost of their competitors for the same service. They didn't give me a bogus quote but scheduled an appointment to give me a quote. I got my carpets cleaned a second time by BnK Chem-Dry. The first time was 2 years ago but after this second experience I don't think I'll be using them again. Speaking on this last experience, I feel their prices are very overpriced for what you get. It was $292 for my upstairs (4 bedrooms (of which 2 are pretty small), a hallway and stairs. I chose the basic pricing package and this price also included a $25 coupon I found on their website. It took them a total of an hour to be in and out of here, including setup/prep. There were 2 guys and both were nice, I don't have any complaints about them. We didn't have any stains or areas that they needed to spend extra time on. They even told me at the end that my carpets were pretty clean and the water wasn't even coming up dirty in a lot of areas. I realize I was quoted the price when I made the appointment but my concern would be that if the price is quoted for an expected amount of work and time for dirty carpets and my carpets didn't end up needing as much time and labor as expected, shouldn't the price be adjusted to be fair? Why should I pay as much if the job was a lot easier/took a lot less time and labor, etc. than expected? I feel a lot of people (including myself) use this company because of the name recognition but I will be looking elsewhere from now on. There are so many other carpet cleaning companies in the area and I will be doing more research next time and finding more competitive pricing that seems fair. read more

I had several new and old puppy pee stains that could not be taken out from "old school" traditional steam cleaning guy last year (it worked at first until it dried and came back), so I wanted to try a Chem-Dry franchise to see if they could do it, especially since I had out of town family coming in Friday. I called Tuesday for an appointment, and they came out first thing Wednesday morning at 8am sharp. Brian is experienced in the industry and explained how much better their patented less-water approach with company-produced chemical treatment, along with the new type of equipment and method was compared to traditional steam cleaning and ZeroRez. I had reupholstered dining room chairs (which I have a stain treatment put on) and a dining room area rug delivered at the same time. I noticed a bad chemical smell and assumed it was the new rug and would go away after a few days. It didn't. It got worse and after 1.5 months, I could "taste" the smell it was so bad. I was disappointed with the lack of information and transparency with this service. When we last had our carpets cleaned several years back, the one price covered everything and the furniture was moved other than the large dresser and bed. I went with this company because their rates were in line with other estimates and they had good reviews. However, when the technician came out, we discovered that there were three price points - we thought that the estimate that was provided covered the cleaning and protection. But this only covered the basic cleaning and if we wanted the protection, it was higher, and if we wanted the protection and deodorizer, it was even higher. Because the technician was already there, I went ahead and paid for more. When the technician left, he said the carpet would be clean in about 8 hours. Because the room was upstairs, we didn't see the results until that night - after 10 hours, the carpet was still damp but looked good. The next day, I noticed that one stain didn't come up and that the technician had not moved two nightstands and cleaned these areas. I called BnK to ask about this and they said that they don't move heavy furniture - these nightstands are not at all heavy. They asked if the technician said anything about the stains needing extra attention, but he said nothing about anything. When they asked what I wanted, I said I'd like someone to come back out and clean the areas missed and to have someone re-do the stain. I was told that they would have to charge for those areas because the estimate only included the visible areas. I'm upset because we weren't given any information about their parameters ahead of time, no information about the stains when the technician was there, and when I called afterwards, there was no attempt to remedy the situation. read more
