They let my mother and I drive the car to my dad so he could check it out and then to my mechanic to have it fully checked once we ran the numbers and I decided I wanted it as long as it checked out by my mechanic. The car has a few minor cosmetic issues (small scratches in the paint) that are to be expected. The trunk latch cover had dry rotted (it's plastic and this is a common issue), Michael found us a replacement quickly and offered to have it painted as well for way cheaper than Toyota charges for just the piece. The car came with 4 brand new tires, unfortunately the previous owner had straddled a curb or something causing damage to the interior of the rim--which was causing the tire to bubble. (My mechanic found it after he lifted the car to check the bearings.) Michael and his father took off the price of a new rim and tire so we could replace them. They also gave me a very fair price for my trade. Michael, Ray, and I'm sure the others that work at Auto Showcase are amazing and honest people-- they made buying this car quick and easy...they even stayed late so we could get it all done. Now that my extended warranty is running out I do not intend to ever return there. Not to mention they speak to you as though you are a gullible idiot. What they don't know is that i have worked in a parts and service department at a dealership in the past. I actually know what goes on and how it can work smoothly. These people need to get a decent manager and start over from scratch. Avoid them until that happens.

I was shocked to learn that the new quote given today was nearly three times higher than the price I had been given just two days earlier. When I questioned the discrepancy, I was told that the employee who provided the original quote had made a "human error" by not reading the entire service page. The problem is that I specifically told the representative when I called that I was comparing prices before deciding where to have my car serviced. It is difficult not to feel misled when the price changes so dramatically after I've already committed my time and brought my vehicle in. Fast forward to the end of the day I had to call the sales department to get an update on my vehicle right before closing time. He was pretty cavalier in his response and said he'd call back with an estimate first thing the next morning. I then waited until lunchtime only to be told by someone else, I think her name was Laura that it would take another day for the part to come in and be installed. My original service rep was also out that day. Laura did give me her direct line and when I expressed my dissatisfaction in the lack of communication said I could get 10% off the price for the inconvenience. In the end they had my car almost the entire week but the communication did improve and I finally got my car back in one piece.
