Purchased a BMW 3 series off the showroom. One year old and looked great. Clean Carfax and the purchase went fine. Two years later I went to trade it in at another BMW dealer and found it now had a Carfax report of being wrecked. I found Seattle BMW did not report the repairs until many months after the sale to me. I confirmed this with Carfax. I lost several thousand dollars of trade in value for the now bad Carfax for a vehicle I presumed was clear. I will never purchase a vehicle from them, I warn everyone of the dishonesty and I regret doing business with them several times prior to this fiasco. Buyer beware. read more

We inherited a Series 2 BMW and signed the paperwork to transfer the service warranty into our name 2+ years ago. We scheduled a service appointment, though when I arrived Alex Long informed me that they will no longer honor the agreement and our 2 choices were to pay $1100 for the service or pay $700 to transfer the agreement (again) for the remaining ~20 days. (1) Whether the service agreement should have been transferred or not, it was 2+ years ago and we have this signed agreement. (2) If there were a problem, BMW Seattle could have informed us of this some time ago and before we arrived for this appointment. This would have allowed us to review the contract/bring it with us, or to have the service completed somewhere else (oil change, spark plugs, etc. ... all much cheaper elsewhere). Alex was not at all helpful with any of the above. read more

Let me start out by saying I am a huge BMW fan. I have owned 6 BMW's since 2001 and currently own two 2015 vehicles. I drive a 2015 M4 Dinan and my wife drives a 2015 X5 diesel. Both of these vehicles were originally purchased at BMW of Seattle although I am the 2nd owner of the M4. The original owner purchased it from Seattle BMW but then consigned and sold the car through Park Place which is where I bought it. I feel compelled to write this review, despite my love of BMW, based on a really frustrating experience I had which has led me to the point of never using BMW Seattle again for service and most likely for new purchases. My personal belief is that the leadership of the store, from the General manager down to the service manager, don't understand the underlying purpose to "customer service" and as leaders their philosophy has infected and changed the Seattle BMW service culture. My M4 is a very unique car. The original owner took possession of the car in the summer of 15 and immediately began transforming the car with every Dinan option available for the M4. This included the Dinan forged wheel package. All of the Dinan products were done by Seattle BMW which is important since Dinan products are covered under the BMW warranty if installed at the dealer. I noticed 4 months ago while washing the car that the clear coat on the wheels were chipping. I took the car to Seattle BMW and had them take a look. I brought all the original receipts to demonstrate that the car was from their shop and that all the Dinan work was performed there. I also printed all the warranty information from the Dinan website. The initial response I got from the service department was that I basically needed to handle this myself since these weren't original BMW wheels. I went back to the dealership with all my paperwork including the specific warranty information both from Dinan and BMW. The next response I got was that since I was the 2nd owner, this wouldn't be covered. Knowing this wasn't accurate, and feeling like I was getting no where, I immediately walked across the street and asked for the GM, S. Bates. I introduced myself and explained, in detail, my dilemma including the specific warranty information which confirmed that the warranty was transferable. His response was that he wanted to help me but that since these were aftermarket parts that the best they could do would be to facilitate the dialogue with Dinan. He also made it very clear that since this wasn't a BMW product that they would store the car and ship the wheels but that I would need to provide my own alternative car, (i.e. No loaner car), and pay for shipping. Although I was a little bit surprised that I would need to rent a car, I simply said, "I just want you to help me Mr. Bates. I don't have the ability to take the wheels off myself, store my car with no wheels on it, and then ship 4 wheels." The time estimate was 5/6 weeks. At 10 weeks I was starting to get very irritated and concerned with how long this was taking. By that point I was $2,000 plus or minus into rental cars and alternative transportation and I was having to proactively check in with both Dinan, (who was great through the process for the most part), and BMW Seattle to see how close we were to being done. The wheels shipped to Seattle BMW on Monday June 23rd and the car was supposed to be back together Friday June 27th. (I dropped the car April 13th). I was supposed to pick up the car the morning of the 24th. On the 24th i got a call saying the tire pressure monitors weren't working and that they needed a day or two to fix. They offered to out me in a loaner knowing I had given up my rental. On Monday morning they contacted me with "good news bad news". The good news was the car was ready and all the tire pressure monitors had been replaced. The bad news was that the dealer wouldn't release my car to me until the bill for the tire pressure monitors was paid. I told the service manager I didn't understand and wasn't aware that there was a bill? His response was that they believed Dinan had broken the monitors when they re-installed them and that someone needed to pay for them. I was stunned and said, "let me get this straight, I had nothing to do with this but since you and Dinan can't work this out your answer is to hold my car hostage until you get paid?" The response I got from the GM was, "It seems we have done everything to help you with something WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR and now you are suggesting that I am holding your car hostage because of repairs needed that were not created by us, All I want is to be paid for work performed, wouldn't you?" Here's my response. Mr. Bates, you are not responsible for your brands product and a specific aftermarket company who's product is of such craftsmanship and quality that BMW includes their products under their warranty?" Needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere! read more

Was looking for a certified preowned BMW 340i with M Sport and Track Handling Package as well as getting the wife comfortable with the idea purchasing this car. Unfortunately, the exact spec of the car I was looking for wasn't in their inventory. However, Shad Walter, the sales person helping us, was really helpful in looking through the inventory and managing our expectations in finding our particular car. He was not pushy and even spent the time to show us a similar car and going on a test drive. We left without purchasing a vehicle due to the specificity of the car I was looking for. However, if I'm in the market for a new BMW I would highly recommend going to BMW Seattle and working with Shad. read more

I brought in my car with an engine malfunction with reduced power output. It took a few extra days because they had to order a part, which got delayed because the truck bringing a part got an in accident. Stuff happens I guess, and I would still give them 4-5 stars if that was all. Why 1 star: I rarely check my mail, but the day I got my car I picked up my mail and had an extended warranty for what sounded suspiciously like what just got fixed for nearly $900 (intake Charge-air duct). So BMW Seattle should have known about it. I call BMW USA to see if they can verify that the part is covered, and they will not say which parts specifically are covered and not covered, and to contact the service center. After days if not weeks of phone tag they had a minion call to say that it was not covered, and would only be covered if a part upstream failed. When I asked questions he said he'd have to get in touch with the Service manager or have he or my service advisor call me. They never did. After some internet research I find a diagram which outlines 3 pieces of plastic which make up the intake charge-air duct, including the part number of the item on my receipt. I call and leave two messages, one for my service advisor Trevor Maehl and one for the guy they unfortunately gave the dirty work to call me back. After more phone tag I eventually get a call back (now 22 days after the service) from the minion saying there's good news and I can get a rebate through xyz. I say that it's within 30 days I should be refunded, and you guys should have known about this from the start. Had I known it was under warranty I would have requested a loaner vehicle which would have been handy. Further, the rebate process takes 4-6 weeks so that's BMW holding on to nearly $900 for 7-9 weeks of my money they shouldn't have to begin with. Also they did not mention that there are two other recalls on my car (including airbag), and "charged" BMW USA for a free first aid kit that they did not provide until prompted (after 20 minutes). They are dishonest and looking to charge customers the max. The person in front of me was asking why moisture in his headlight caused $5k to replace. read more

Given BMW level customer service, BMW Seattle is an anomaly. I have dealt with different BMW dealers in Nor Cal as well as PNW area with best experience always !! I walked into Seattle BMW to discuss my lease end options. I talked to Shad. It seemed that he almost wasnt interested in my business given that I was more inclined in buying my car. He quoted some outrageous numbers on a loaner lease and didnt even try to reach a settling point. read more

Came in to buy my mom a car. Was paired with client advisor Benson Yim. Client advisor definitely describes Benson! I never felt like he was selling me a car. He spent a lot of time educating my mom and me about different options and what would fit her best. We did not purchase at that time but when we left the dealership, my mom said if you do buy me a car from here, make sure you go back to Benson. 1 month or so later of looking for cars, Benson's expertise and demeanor brought me back here to BMW Seattle to purchase my mom's car. Benson went out of his way to make this a great purchase experience. Timing was of the essence because I needed the car to surprise my mom for her birthday. He made it happen! The memory of delivering the car to my mom, which could go viral it is so funny, is one that my mom and I will never forget. Thank you Benson!! read more

Buying my first brand new M3 from Seattle BMW was truly a memorable experience. I took my first test drive with Cameron Powell months ago, he truly is a BMW genius. I then had the pleasure of working with Karl Enemark, a full blown M enthusiast. From seeing the car I wanted on Saturday to picking it up on Sunday Karl, London Agrawal, and Rachel O'Sullivan made sure I was well taken care of. My family has also worked with Mark Harrington in the past who is also a true asset to the team at Seattle BMW. Purchased a new car from Randall Nakamura @ BMW Seattle. It was a fantastic experience! The dealership had great inventory, Randall spent a lot of time with me trying to understand what I was looking for and explaining options to me. He had creative solutions to help me find the car that I wanted. Negotiations were no pressure and I felt like I got a good deal. Finance department was very helpful and found me a great rate. Ordered a built-to-order car. Salesperson said it would take 6-8 weeks (probably just to get my sell). Actually took 12 weeks. At 6 weeks, I constantly had to inquire about the status, to which his response was usually "I don't know". They were not proactive at all. Showed no compassion about how long it was taking. Snippy email communication. Finally got the car, and when I scheduled it for the 1200-mile break-in service, he scheduled me for a Sunday, the day they're closed. This screwed up *my* schedule. BMW Seattle: In-efficient Dynamics My service indicator said I need to take the car in for maintenance in May. So I called, gave them the last 7 of VIN, made an appointment, and arranged for a loaner car. The morning of the appointment, I arrived 1 minute early. I walked into the service department but was greeted by no one. I went to the (sales?) front desk, and they said someone will be there to help me. Fifteen minutes later, someone indeed came to help me. The guy didn't have any scheduled appointments before or after mine according to their appointment board, so why was it that I had to wait for 15 minutes? He looked up my car on the his computer, then told me that they didn't reset the emissions last time the car was in for service. It took him about a minute to go and reset it on my car, then I was on my way. Why didn't they look up my car in the system when I called to make the appointment? I would much rather have waited to have that reset until I needed to come in for a real maintenance item. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. First off, I will say I'm not bitter over their absurd trade in quote , I get it their there to make a profit. But, it's the attitude that came with questioning their practices. I did my homework, I called and got other quotes on my trade in, but BMW Seattle treated my vehicle as if it was a dime a dozen, and stated that's exactly why they gave me such a low value. Then, my sales guy tells me to " go somewhere else if I want to". Um, okay I will do that. I will never come here again, their prices are ridiculous, trade in values laughably low and the sales people leave a lot to be desired. Sales people- you work there, you don't own BMW or the billions that come with that industry so leave the snottiness behind. read more

Bought a used car here. Sales team was good, friendly, helpful, etc. I had to bring it back for some work to be done on it, I worked with the sales guy directly since it was something that should have been attended to prior to my purchase. Sales guy made sure that the dealer covered it and sent me to the service department. This is where things go down hill. Being a BMW dealership, I fully expect quality parts and techs that know what they're doing. Instead, I found out that they will use parts form CARQUEST and do the work wrong. Part one, I go to get my car and hear rattling noises that were not there before, I drive it back they take it into the shop and 'fix' the noise. I found out the parts were from CARQUEST by chance of the service advisor mentioning it since they had a hard time finding the right part on day 1 (this also took more than the half day it should have taken any reputable shop to get parts and do the work, it took them more than a day). So after they did the work and fixed the noise and I explained to them that CARQUEST parts will never work right on this car, I drive home. Fast forward 500 miles. I already need to replace parts they put on as CARQUEST parts are crap. Fast forward 3,000 more miles, I replace the rest of the CARQUEST parts with factory parts. Amazingly the car now works as it was intended to before CARQUEST crap was used. So, good sales dept., crappy service dept. read more

Fall 2013, my 2010 335i got its windshield smashed in by a thief in Westwood Village. Insurance took care of the the damage minus my deductible, the car rental and the tow to BMW Seattle. BMW took care of the detailing and flushing the circulatory systems to get rid of the glass. Their body shop vendor took care of the (big surprise) the body damage to the hood -- which I never saw, just heard about from the insurance agent who performed the damage survey. Service at this dealership has always been hot and cold as I mentioned in my original review. I went to the service desk to pick up my car and I asked if this took care of the total bill as they informed me they would work with the body shop for me. They said yes so I left feeling finished with the whole ugly incident. Alas, that was just the beginning. A few weeks after I got some voice messages from the body shop asking for money. I called BMW asking about this and my service advisor Denise said she'd take care of it. That's the last I heard of it until a year later in 2014 when I got a letter from the body shop asking for money. I called Denise again and she said she'd take care of it. A year later and I once again got a bill from the body shop asking for money. I called Service and they said they'd get back to me. A week passed without a call so I called in and they said they'd have a service manager call me. Mr. Travis did return my call that day and informed me what the status was. I do owe the body shop their money. I am absolutely fine paying what I owe. My beef here is with the level of service I received and the cost to my peace of mind. For the price of a luxury car carrying the prestige of the BMW name you expect a little more. The process above covers a lot of time and stress over a simple question. Plus, it's aggravating paying over $1500 for work done that you were told three times was "taken care of" on a car that you don't even own anymore for more than a year. I'm pretty angry about how this was handled (or mishandled) and, though I know this doesn't affect the overall quality of the brand, does mean I will avoid this dealership and possibly this brand in the future. I am quite alright with driving a lot further for better and consistent service. read more

I just can't believe that is how you treat or talk to someone buying a $50,000 car. The sales person Kevin Shi is by far the LEAST professional person I have encountered. I've spent time at Infiniti, Lexus, and will now be going to BMW of Bellevue and they already got my business. You truly lost such an easy sell for being a complete a**hole. Impatient & Unprepared, when asked a question he would respond with a smart remark of an excuse for his lack of knowledge of the product. It's a joke. You'll receive better service and knowledge from someone selling computer parts than Kevin. Yet expects to make a living selling luxury cars. I honestly don't see how he be in the business for long. Good luck bud. Other than that huge selection of BMW, waiting room and complimentary like others have mentioned said are quite sad compared to other companies. read more

This used to be a great dealership to get your car serviced till Lithia bought it out. It is clear the front end personnel are compensated for how much work they write and fish for things that are not critical or relevant. The service rates are extermely high, parts at above retail and quality poor. Examples: I dropped off my vehicle because the rear fan was making noise. The fix, since it was under warranty was to turn the fan off. I just had the spark plugs replaced and they failed to connect the shorouds above the valve cover and they are loose and flopping around. Did not even screw it back together. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I purchased a used vehicle from this place, which in turn, is part of the Lithia Auto Corporation. I was assured by the Used Car Manager, London Agrawal that the car was "safetied". I brought to their attention that the car was pulling to the left on the freeway, thus, it was out of alignment. No big deal right? Wrong, after the deal was finalized I come to find out that the steering needs a full replacement and that the car had front end damage. This place gives a used car lot on Aurora a good name. They are liars and mislead people. Be wary of London Agrawal because he's a liar and thief. They only care about profit instead of seeing your family in a safe vehicle. If you have to deal with Steve Bates who supposedly runs the show, good luck in dealing with that a-hole. All he'll give you is "I'm sorries" with no solution, hence, all the shit reviews of the sales department. I've already contacted the BBB and Olympia directly. You're better off purchasing your new vehicle in Fife or Portland. I'm spreading the word around my office that this place is an absolute joke and to take your business elsewhere. I work for a large tech firm and have already posted and spoke to many people about this shitty establishment. By the way, they'll offer you below auction value for your trade-in and expect you to pay above retail for their car. I Watched it happen live when I returned to speak to Steve Bates. Went here, got insulted because i didnt study for the bmw exam when its their job to educate and sell me the car. If your going here, better get dressed, read up on bmw cars, and prepare to feel degraded while you offer them your hard earned cash.
