I don't know what might bring you to Cimarron other than Philmont, but when here do not miss this place. Home made sausages and innovative toppings make this place one of the best hot dog places I've ever been to including the now closed Hot Doug's in Chicago. This place serves some great beer in a nice, relaxing setting. The owners are some very cool people and were great to converse with. We went for my birthday, but were bummed that they weren't serving food due to COVID restrictions, but their Dawson Stout was absolutely perfect to enjoy on a cool New Mexico evening. My wife enjoyed their Mexican Lager. We brought home some six packs of beer. I can't wait to go back when they are able to serve food again. I hear their BBQ is amazing! read more

I wasn't expecting a lot from this place when I popped in for a drink while traveling through the area. Unfortunately, I didn't have their grilled chicken (which looked and smelled amazing), but I did get a 4 flight of their house beers. I am not a Pilsner guy, but their grandad's Pilsner is the absolute best Pilsner I have ever had. If they sold them in a can, I would have bought a case on the spot. Their IPA was a miss, the stout was drinkable, and their Kolsch was very similar to the Pilsner, just not as refined. Overall: friendly staff, nice and clean restaurant with a great patio, and try that Pilsner! read more

This place is solid. Good beer, good food, nice ambiance. This is a perfect little withering for solo travelers and groups, bachelors and families. Small inside seating with a nice large outdoor seating area with a large shady tree and corn whole. We will definitely be back. read more

We decided to come into town from camping at Cimarron Canyon State Park, and what a pleasant surprise! Friendly, tasty, good value, loved the patio and enjoyed playing corn hole out there too. Would love to come back and try more food and brews! read more

Great craft beer options! My husband loves to try every new brewery we come across and he loved this one! My husband hates IPAs and prefers the full-bodied beers. He loved their stout beer. Worth the drive over from Angel Fire to check this place out. Wife and I came over for lunch and to check out their craft brews. Very pleased on all fronts. The Food - For lunch I had a brisket sandwich with their ranch beans. The brisket was tender and lightly smoky; and adequate amount of meat on the bun; but no extras like onion or jalapeno offered. BBQ sauce on the side was good but not unique; on the sweet side rather than spicy. The ranch beans were very good with quite a lot of meat chunks in them. The wife had tacos - one chicken and one brisket. Like the brisket, the chicken was only lightly smoked. The tacos were good sized and were offered with red or green chile as a compliment. Wife was having a little digestive issues so she opted out of both. The Beer - Five house beers were on offer: Dunkel, IPA, Oktoberfest, Stout and Gingerbread Brown. We had a flight with the first four and I ended up following with a pint of the stout. Of the four, I preferred the IPA, which had good malt and was not overly hopped, and the stout. I'm not a big Dunkel fan but it seemed true to style to me. The Oktoberfest was my least favorite and seemed furthest off the style mark, IMO. Wife followed up with the Gingerbread which she liked, but for me was overly spicy (too much clove). read more

This place was amazing. I stopped by for lunch after dropping my son at philmont. Had the Tacos and ordered one of each with green chili sauce. They did not disappoint and I still crave them. Need to find a way to get my son to go to philmont again so I have a reason to eat here again. The staff was friendly and had some great conversation. Absolutely awesome food and beer. I come from Seattle, original home of microbrews and beer snobs, and I gotta say, if this place was in Seattle, it would be swamped 24x7 for the amazing beer AND the food. I was recently staying at Vermejo Park Ranch (a Ted Turner Property, meaning very high-end) which is about an hour and a half away, and talked my hunting guide into driving down to Cimarron for lunch at the Blu Dragonfly. He was blown away. The food was better than the stuff the 5-star chefs prepare at Vermejo. And their attention to detail in creating their beers is astounding. If you are ever in or near Cimarron, and you love great barbeque/smoked meats and/or incredible craft beers, it is absolutely worth the effort to go out of your way to stop there. read more

We had a great dinner from the Blu Dragonfly in Cimarron. We have been fortunate to eat at the Blu Dragonfly a few times but tonight was especially good. Because of COVID-19 it was a take out order. I ordered earlier in the day for a 6:00 pm pickup. I got there a few minutes early and they were just fishing the prep. I was in and out in just a few minutes. I would have loved to stay and visit but we were following the protocol. We had the Yard Bird Chicken, the pork ribs and the pulled pork along with potato salad and coke slaw. Everything was very good, I especially like the ribs, great taste, tender and cooked to perfection. The pulled pork was great, my wife is going to use the leftovers for some nachos. And the chicken was just great. The sides are always good, but my favorite is the Mac and cheese. If you are near Cimarron you should stop by and have some great food. Colin and Erin do a great job, and when the restrictions are lifted it is a great place to hang out and visit. read more
