From the initial visit with Richard and Matt I was impressed. They were very professional and very sympathetic to my situation. Craig & Mason came and managed the process for the start of the project and they were so awesome and worked so well with my other neighbors that were effected by the slab leak as well. I called today, and its been 6 days and the guy said he didn't do it, was concerned that he would not get extra pay for the area [distance], which they said they did anyway, so not good! Where do I start? I am a 65 year-old man. I'm retired and I live in a seniors apartment building. Blue sky was hired to do the restoration after my next-door neighbor's apartment caught on fire in my apartment was covered in 2 inches of water. I don't understand How they've gotten so many good reviews. My hobby is making succulent arrangements and other floral designs more than half of my plants, dehydrated and died after their machines dried them all out. I also suffer from COPD and I have lung problems and I was sick for a week and a half afterwards Their company never wants enlightened us of how the process can kill your plants and is dangerous for elderly people with lung disease on top of that many items in my apartment were broken. They were extremely careless in their procedure. I would stay away from this company and don't let them come anywhere near your property. It's no wonder they have many lawsuits against them. Reading these reviews made it perfect to hire this company by my HOA who first, did not stop a leaking drain pipe from above for many months then did not want to follow very professional mold reports showing the extent of damage. I had to evacuate....8 months ago. Thousands and thousands of dollars went to attorneys instead of just doing a proper remediation. Yes, I understand this is my HOA who would rather give the money to the HOA attorney....but BluSky consulted with the attorney... and had the mold reports. Various options were offered to the HOA attorney, including just the openings a previous company hired by the HOA made that was uninsured and "had no employees" according to required filings...so they found a couple who had to go out to buy "plastic." Expecting that they would follow the mold report guidance for remediation....they just did the already open area by the previous company...just mentioned. Their heat machine has been operating for three weeks now in this small area....temperature in there..over 90 degrees. (I stopped in last night to pick up a medication from my kitchen). Every item mentioned is in a settlement agreement with evidence. Enjoy the week!! read more

I am working with BlueSky (in BayArea, California) through our building's HOA for a restoration project. While the technicians who do the work have been very good (2 stars are for the technicians), BlueSky's office and reception have been a nightmare to work with. They are extremely irresponsive and there is no sort of communication about the next steps and what should the residents expect. We are in the middle of restoration and I cannot wait for the restoration work to be done! This way I don't have to deal with the BlueSky office which in itself has become a part-time job for me! :( If you plan to engage with BlueSky in the future, do it at your own risk! You might have to wait forever for the work to be completed. read more

Our management company informed us that blusky said we harassed them and demanded warranties when we simply had a conversation with them regarding whether it was safe for them to do 12 days of mold remediation on out kitchen in our small apartment while we were preset. Blusky said it was. (Never mind not having a kitchen for 2 weeks as a renter.) We requested this verbal assurance in writing. Instead we received an email from our management company stating: "Due to the recent events involving our vendor BluSky and their interactions with you, BluSky has notified us that they will not proceed with work on the unit unless it is vacated. While in the unit you both harassed the vendors and demanded written warranties and appeared to prevent work.  The conversation led the BluSky team to believe that at the end of the work day, you would likely interfere with and contaminate the containment area before the next work day would commence.  As such, the remediation team will not be conducting any further work in your unit until you have vacated for the length of the work, which is expected to take 9 days in total." What kind of professional lies about it being safe to stay in the unit, but when politely asked to supply it in writing, tells lies to our management company like this? To add insult to injury, their entire containment collapsed. This is the kind of work they do and how they treat people. I've requested to speak to them to resolve but they refuse to talk to me since I'm the resident but this is my home and I have to deal with the health implications and consequences of their negligence. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. We had a fire and they assured us they were pros and could do everything. First, they put 3 neighbors on the same permit. This meant that none of us could move in until we ALL cleared inspections. Work was not attempted for months on my unit. Meanwhile I am in an Airbnb month to month. Finally nearly a year later my condo didn't pass inspections because there were problems with my neighbor's condo. I finally did move back in and black spots began to pop out of the walls like ghosts. I asked if my walls were primed and they said yes. I pressed them on the issue after being assured by multiple other contractors the walls weren't primed. Harbro said "it wasn't in their scope of work". So you lied about it and then this is your excuse?! At this point we would have to move everything we have moved in back into a storage space, find a place to live for at least a couple weeks while our place is primed and repainted. Then we have to move everything back in! This would cost us 25k+ and Harbro refuses to take responsibility for this. They said they would come back and do the work again. Sorry no! The painting you did in the first place is all over. They said they hired a company that wasn't used to doing anything other than new construction. Wow so we just have paint all over our molding, floors, beams, and everywhere else. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS! The work I tried to get them to do after I moved back in was lackluster and took weeks to even get someone out. Also, every time they sent a guy out to fix something he would mess something else up For example: screen was bent: He fixed bent screen, but now screen has hole in it. Install sliding door: door scratched and holes in shutters and frame for shutters an inch away from wall. I have too many examples to mention, but have pictures of all of it. If you have fallen for these guys take pictures of all of it! I am filing a complaint with the state licensing board and taking them to court. Please do not make the same mistake as I did! read more

If I could give them a -10, I would. My experience is very similar to Polina's. Basically, there was a minor mold issue on one wall, they came and tore up my wall and my floor. Charged me almost 6000$ for half a day of job. And then ignored me for a month while my house was turned upside down. When I finally had them come back, they said they didn't know what the problem was and wouldn't finish patching up the wall or fix the floor. My experience with this company was absolutely terrible. They provided zero explanation of the process to me and simply show up at my place without warning like in 20 min after the call, leaving you with no chance to seek other options in the area. They proceed to tear down your floor and other aspects of your property without your knowledge, only informing you afterward. Their Representative Chris literally tear down my place first and only called me afterwards when it was already done. He made my tenant into signing documents that hold no authority for such destruction! She signed the documents and let them tear down the place without my knowledge. This becomes especially problematic if you are an out-of-state landlord, leaving you in a vulnerable position. Over the phone they give the impression that they will fix everything once the tear down is done, but you discover later that they have vanished without a trace. There is a significant amount of deception involved. Chris was saying that project manager will take care of everything. But It feel they take advantage individuals who find themselves in emergency situations, such as flooding. Their representative, Dan, is shockingly rude despite being a supposed project manager tasked with explaining the steps of the process to me. However, he never bothers to call you until the very end, where he becomes extremely disrespectful after I confronted him in front of the insurance company about their deceitful practices, no explanation, no communication, delay emails etc. Now, they have been hounding me for months over a bill that they have already been paid by the insurance company. I am currently dealing with even more dishonesty and relentless billing harassment. Since April, the insurance company has been claiming that they have sent them at least two checks, but they insist they never received them. They don't tell you right away but in 2 months send you a new bill with late fee. This constant game-playing is causing me emotional abuse and further eroding my trust in this company. This is so toxic, I suffer so much since April and this seems nowhere near to be resolved anytime soon. read more

Took 1 year & 3 months for a 6-7 month repair. Moved into the house without hot water, without working HVAC, bathtub not hooked up properly & water leaks in the majority of our sinks. Since then have had to replace the ceiling 2x due to pipes not being installed properly causing mold & drywall replacement. Company attempted to charge us for Marble Flooring we did not pick (they put it 2x on the same invoice). Attempted to charge us $3k for Blinds that they previously advised only cost $600. Since November of last year I have been waiting on them to confirm the amount of credit we have due to coming under our allowance budget. They have attempted 2x to say we were over budget (see the above example of marble flooring & Blinds). Still haven't received anything from them but the Billing Dept continues to send us the Final Invoice despite the fact they haven't credited our account. I don't have the time or energy to go into all the issues. I would recommend checking out the customer reviews on Better Business Bureaus and you will see the trend of what used to be a good company that was sold 2x, overbooked to get maximum $ & stopped caring about quality & customer service. My HOA made the horrible mistake of hiring this company to work on my kitchen and the kitchen of a few other units after a flood in my building. I could go on forever about each and every thing they did wrong because absolutely everything done from top to bottom was done terribly and over too long of a timeframe and with horrible communication. And now much of it will likely need to be redone. I'll just say that in my entire adult life, and I'm not young, I've never had a worse experience with a business. A flood is not always the best way to start your week after Labor Day weekend of 2020 especially during our current world pandemic. We are located at the World Trade Center in Long Beach, Ca. and are surrounded by infants through preschoolers as our business is a Private Preschool. Our first worry was, "will the renovators be understanding, thorough and professional?" We met Jack and Abraham from Blusky and there was immediate relief due to their kindness and professionalism. They walked through the school and explained the process of bringing back our center back to normal. The damage included: a classroom, a hallway, front office walls, and a restroom. Blusky had fans going 24/7 to minimize the damage. The customer service Blusky provided was exceptional. The direction they gave their crew met our expectations with that being said, their crew was outstanding! They constantly checked on our needs and their crew's process. Their friendly demeanor allowed comfort to interact with them. The crew worked around our business hours and had the student's interest at heart. The final result left our center back to its original state if not better. Thank you, Jack, Abraham, Alex and company for your constant support throughout out the water damage. Wow! Surprised to read all these negative reviews. But in the industry, nobody writes rave reviews for vendors. Har-bro is not cheap but they get the worst of the worst jobs taken care of quick and efficiently, especially when they are those nightmare scenarios. They provide time saving documentation and always outshine other vendors that provide similar services. I manage about 300 units in SF and the team is always professional, on time, and thorough. They are not cheap but they are the ones who get the job done. Every time I have cheaped out to save on the budget, I have regretted it but I've never regretted using HB. You get what you pay for. Bluesky was hired by Avalon Bay Calabasas to remediate the window sill that had visible mold upon moving into the apartment in August 2023. I was told by Avalon Bay that what I was seeing was dirt. It's against their policy to test for mold, I had to pay out of pocket for a mold inspection, lab results and recommendations. I understand that every remediation company has different standards, however The recommendations set forth by the inspector were not followed during remediation by Bluesky. The hardware was not removed and replaced along with the window (which doesn't work properly) neither was the screen. the window sill still has mold and mold spores growing back after two weeks. I can see the spores growing in between the rubber metal & glass. The cleaning was very superficial. Paint and stucco were sprayed on window & screen and left behind. . I didn't see any PPE's on the employees inside or outside the containment area, I have videos. I'm disappointed with the quality of work. Avalon said that they were going to come back out and address the issues but not remove & replace the window. read more

Do not sign anything!!! These people will not talk about cost BUT hit you with a bill and expect you to pay it. They won't tell you they charge a service FEE every time they show to your house. They won't tell you how much each project cost because they are cranking up the amount banking on your insurance company to pay up. Ask questions and get everything automized so that you are aware of how much is being charged (even if your insurance is paying for it) These people are dishonest and they're not upfront. How many things can one company do wrong? If you are already stressed and in need of major home repair look elsewhere - this company is a scam. I base my opinion on my experiences with Harbro and my experiences with other contractors as I grew up with parents that professionally flip houses for a living in Florida. Here is a short excerpt from my experience with them: - pipe bursts in our condo On our wedding day. These guys are recommended by our HOA. We interview two contractors these guys and someone else. These guys say they will have it done in a month will include in the costs moving our furniture out (the entire kitchen and main floor needed to be redone) along with a lot of other shiny promises. We choose them. Commence huge mistake. - they do NOT watch their subcontractors - who damaged our walls, my designer shoes, ruined our deck with paint and trash, and who generally did a crappy job. They put the wrong knobs on our new cabinets, used our toilet without asking permission, and would not move our furniture despite them promising this service was part of the deal. The furniture they did move? They put outside under an Australian pine tree for 2-3 days. Covered in sap and pollen to this day. Also to be fair they knocked a few dollars off our bill for this - but let's be real not enough to compensate for all the damage they cause or the headache of us having to fight tooth and nail. - we had to cover our house in hundreds of pieces of blue tape to make them see the mistakes. - three months later yes three whole months !!! We finally move back in. Things are still not right but we can't make these people be honest and fair and correct their subcontractors mistakes. It's not our fault you hired a cheap and crappy subcontractor then didn't supervise them and paid them before you inspected their work so now you don't want to pay. - I won't get into the mechanics Lien they put on our house and mistakenly tried to pursue an auction of our home despite us paying them in full! Now today, 3 months after moving in? Our brand new expensive countertops are separating from the walls. And, surprise, Alex our contractor won't call me back. If I could give zero stars I would. What do you do when you realize that your faucet has been leaking for 2 weeks and your cabinet and dry wall are filled with mold? Call Har-Bro! Had some major water damage in my bathroom which leaked to my downstairs neighbor's unit . Unbeknownst to me, inhaling large amounts of mold is unadvisable, I started demolishing my mold infested bathroom. After the spores had multiplied exponentially and entered my lungs causing much difficulty breathing, I swallowed my manly pride and decided to call the professionals to come out and do it right. I called a few companies I found online to come out to my home and give bids. The insurance company gave us the phone number for Har-Bro because they do a lot of work for the insurance company. Brian and team came out and took a huge load off of my shoulders. It was effortless. Water damage is a very specialized field and should be handled accordingly. Brian's team came in, assessed, and by the end of the day we had signed a contract and the guys were in and out and done with the remediation. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company if you have the unfortunate incident of having water damage in your home. Terrible !! They took advantage of us at our weakest. We had a house fire which required virtually the entire house needing to be rebuilt. Well Over $500 k in repairs. They did an extra $120,000 of work that was not on the original scope estimate. They did this without getting prior authorization from insurance !! The manager (Patrick) even asked me how much I thought the insurance company would pay of it clearly indicating he knew they would not pay all of that. Then they put a lien on the house we had to pay before we could sell the home. All very unethical and immoral. Taking advantage of a family who has just lost their home. A lot of their work was also subpar. We had to constantly monitor any work that they did. Something as simple as putting railing up for a staircase seem to be beyond their knowledge. We experienced a large fire that destroyed 5 commercial buildings. Shortly after the fire, we hired BluSky to assist with the settlement negotiations with our insurance carrier and ultimately rebuild our damaged structure. BluSky's project manager and superintendent were able to successfully scope the repairs, agree to a settlement with the carrier, worked hand in hand with the design team, and rebuild a new, beautiful block structure from the ground up. In 2020, the commercial property I own in Canyon Country suffered a major fire. I'd never experienced anything like this before, and to say it was traumatic would be an understatement. I live 100 miles away from its location, and unfortunately there was absolutely no way I could get there quickly, "secure" the building, etc. Thankfully BluSky was somehow made aware of the situation within hours of it happening, and they were able to do the job swiftly and smoothly. In hindsight, I wish I would have immediately just hired them to complete the restoration project. Unfortunately I was persuaded by someone at my insurance company to go with a different contractor who ended up being extremely problematic, and he stalled the project for months. I ended up firing him, and putting the restoration project in BluSky's hands (where in hindsight I wish I would have from the beginning). BluSky's Daniel Carrillo and Armando Lopez have been the best people I could possibly ask for in dealing with the enormous, detailed task they had to take on. I can't recommend them highly enough. Always very friendly, great communicating, and they made a very difficult situation much, much smoother for me. Take my word for it - If by chance you find yourself in a similar position as I've been in, call BluSky immediately, and don't waste your time with anyone else. This company does water restoration to high rise office building and condo buildings. They are not equipped to deal with water damaged homes. Most of their help doesn't speak English. They send them out without supervision. The help did more damage than they did good. They never attempted to dry out my kitchen. The help showed up late for work. Nothing they told me was done. I had to fire them after dealing with them for two days. Stay away from this company. I now have a fully destroyed kitchen and I'm scrambling to find the help I need to restore my kitchen.
