This company was referred by Steve's Five Star Service AC conditioning/Plumbing company to remove the asbestos duck work from an old house. They were very professional, appropriate PPEs, explained the process, proper containment, sealed the vents, placed negative pressure, and appropriate precautions for removing asbestos. Stay away from this company! They were referred by All Pro as the Asbestos Abatement company to remove our asbestos in our duct work. The guys showed up within the agreed time. They sealed the vents ith painters blue tape, and brought the Hepa filter out. Asbtestos fiber can be suspended in the air especially when distrubed so the least that we would expect is white residue after their work. Wrong... This is the only area that they worked on and this is what they left for us to inhale. The pipe that had Asbestos was dropped to my front lawn with Asbestos suspended in the air. The guys returned after 20 mins and cleaned the the closet area but not the front lawn. Find another Asbestos is a hazardous material and can cause mesothelioma and Lung cancer when inhaled . Just because no one is looking doesnt mean you can our health at risk! read more

If your just looking to get the job "done" for cheap and don't care about if it was done right, then maybe this is the company for you. Beware and do your research. I was told this company "does their own testing" to confirm if the asbestos has cleared the air. This is technically not allowed as a third party must do the testing by law as it is a conflict of interest for the removal company to verify their own work. Their attitude to this was that their saving you money not having to pay a third party as they do their testing much cheaper "in house." I'm sure contractors love using them because their cheaper but if your the home owner, i'd be very cautious of the services your getting. On a side note, their office staff is a mess and when i had questions, i could never reach the person that sold me the job, which is also the "only one" that was allowed to speak to me apparently. Like I said, do your own research but beware of the cheap deal this company offers. You always get what you pay for. (or don't get in this case). read more

I had asbestos ducting in my house. My Air Conditioning / Heating Company arranged for Sirris to come in and do the abatement (removal of the asbestos ducting) before the installation. There were two workers. They came on time and were polite. They taped up all the vents, laid down plastic sheeting, wore masks/clothing covers during the removal, worked quickly, and cleaned up after themselves. From when they first came in, to when they left, it took about 1 hour. I'm pregnant, so I'm glad that they were conscious about cleaning up after the work was done. read more

I wish I could give negative stars to remove all the stars this company has received previously!! I personally did not hire this company to do an abatement job on the house I purchased and want to warn everyone who considers them to go with any other company. There was a hvac pipe in the attic that had asbestos. The pipe was removed and Sirris was hired to remove the asbestos after. Ernie (the owner of the company) provided a signed report stating the job was complete but nothing was removed, if anything the abatement process was made worse by damaging and leaving the asbestos in the attic! When the company was called back to do the abatement correctly, the guys that came out seemed clueless and after explaining the situation, one of them laughed like the situation was some sort of joke! While working the 2nd time around, they were instructed to remove all the insulation and if need be, open up the wall where the hvac pipe had been removed and make sure all asbestos was removed properly. An air quality test was also required because of the damage done to the asbestos. After about 45 minutes, the guys came to me and said they were done. I then asked if they had checked the wall and removed all the asbestos, and the worker just looked at me and smirked! I told him that look tells me you did not check the wall, go back and check it! He reluctantly did it and glanced at the opening in the register and said "It's Clean ". Then I asked about the insulation and he said they can't remove it, it's not their job and that would have to be discussed with the owner of the company. While this was going on, the supposed air quality test was taking place. I then called Ernie and he said he will not do the removal of the insulation. I then told him what kind of abatement company doesn't do a complete job!?! He still stated he would not remove insulation. Now, a a week later , I come to find out an air quality test was never done even though the worker who came out assured me and even showed me, the test was being performed. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! I plan on reporting them to CSLB or OSHA or DIR or whoever else I need to address it with. read more

I needed to have holes cut in my ceiling to accommodate a furnace relocation to my attic. Having popcorn texture on my ceiling and some type of hardened insulation in a closet as well as wrapped ducting, I felt it necessary to bring in an asbestos abatement company to calm our fears in a 1956 house. Our contractor set up Sirris. They said they would be here between 8am and noon. They arrived at 730 while we were still getting ready to leave. We felt rushed but wanted it done. Although we were told it would take up to 4 hours, we were called within 1 1/2hours. I was told they would only cut one hole in the ceiling and took the ducting out but would not clean out the closet acoustic. I called the company to see what was going on as the on site guys had very heavy accents. My contractor only told them to cut one hole, his fault. They told me that they were under the impression that the closet was to be scraped, not demo'ed as needed. They said that they would discount the cost by $100. After a few minutes, Ernie said he'd send his guys back out to clean out the closet and cut the hole for the return. Upon arrival the workers said they didn't have a saw to cut through the ceiling rafters. I let them borrow mine. We left them, again, hoping that the job would be finished. We came home to find 'dust' all over our living room. We brought them here to take care of our house and they left us questioning if we were now exposed. Not a great feeling, especially with 2 young boys and a freaked out wife. We spent 5 hours, initially, cleaning up after they left. Hell, there was debris in my saw. I can appreciate that they came back on a Friday afternoon to complete the job on the agreed original price, but there is still a level of professionalism that needs to be met. They did NOT live up to the basic standards of their own profession. I told Ernie that I would agree to pay the whole cost as being an upstanding person but left it to his discretion if he felt that we deserved anything back. I called to find out who the manager or owner was to voice a complaint of the way our job was handled. When I reached someone and asked for the person/name I was just asked "why". I explained and the person, Rick, said he would talk to Ernie about it as he didn't even know about our job. A week later, Ernie calls asking about payment and why I felt the way I felt. I explained it to him and he didn't seem to care about anything but payment. I told him about my plans to have samples tested and if the results were negative, I'd send payment. If positive then we were in a whole new area. After taking a sample from some left over pieces and having an independent lab test, I just sent them payment. We are happy that we are asbestos free but still unhappy with the way the job was handled. I hope that whoever reads this review of our experience will think long and hard about who they hire. Yes, Sirris was brought on by our contractor so we were unaware of who was coming out. Before you let your contractor bring out a company, get names and do your research. read more

Had this company come out per greenAir Solutions, the Contractor, Martin that is expediting this whole new heating system. Juan and the man that helped him, taped everything up very well before they put their asbestos clothes on and went into the closet and attic to remove asbestos. They were both very nice and very professional. I haven't had a chance to look up there yet, but thought I'd let it air out overnight before I did that. greenAir Solutions is coming out tomorrow morning and so are the heating system installers, so will follow up with them. But, I had a very good experience with the men that did the asbestos job. If necessary, there will be a follow up, and if not, all went very well! read more

I am a HVAC contractor and have used Sirius 4 times now. They have showed up on time and done the job I called them out for each of those times with no problem. I have called other companies to do abatement for me and their scheduling is 1-2 weeks out and their prices are very high. This isnt an all day procedure, It is 1-3 hours in almost every case and they bring plastic to tape off area and a fan to draw a negative pressure outside of the house. Unfortunately almost any house built in the 60's and older has some form of asbestos in their ductwork if it is still origional. People that buy flipped houses are generally the customers that need this done as they were sold a minimally upgraded house. The advantages of replacing asbestos ductwork with new R-6 insulated ducting can be 30-70% more efficient, and when your electric bill is 500+ dollers in the summer factor that 30-70% of your energy leaks in the attic and you can see how fast this upgrade can pay for itself. Im having these guys out next week to clean out another attic for me and do not expect any problems. read more

Jose and Jose were professional, and did a great job removing our existing ductwork prior to our AC going in. Our attic space is small and on a hot day it was grueling for them but they knocked out the job in a couple of hours or so. Very polite and timely work. One thing I would recommend for the company is to give the customer a call and let them know what to expect as far as the timing, whether you need to be out of the house, etc. I had to call the office to find out this information. Job well done. I needed the asbestos ducting in my house removed. The asbestos ducting which was shiny gray tubelike ducting, not the pink insulation. The pink insulation has no asbestos in it. Juan and Isidro were very knowledgeable and professional. They showed up on time, were polite, taped up all the vents, laid down plastic sheeting, wore masks/white hazmat suits to remove the asbestos ducting then cleaned up all plastic sheeting as if they were never there. Zero stars! I don't not recommend this company and highly recommend finding someone else to work with. My experience began with my realtors trying to find a company to remove some old ducting. This morning my realtor told me the abatement company needed information from the owners, so I called. My first encounter with Ernie was very cold. He refused to provide me any availability details without reviewing paperwork he needed me to resend. I then received an email from him asking for information about the owners. I called back and tried to explain I was the owner and could provide details. Ernie then claimed he did not ask for such information, even though I have an email arguing otherwise! All in all, Ernie is rude and difficult to work with. I personally don't do business with people like that, so proceed with caution! read more

I mentioned in my review that there was drywall damage under the popcorn ceiling. I had my drywall guy come in to do the ceiling texture. He told me that in order to texture over the damage they would need to seal it, skim coat it, wait for it to dry, then trowel over it. This would add upwards of $200 to the texturing job! I was very concerned about this extra cost. I emailed Sirris about all of this. Rick at Sirris, was very fair and agreed to cut me a check for the extra $200 it was going to cost me. This was surprising considering the contractors I have been dealing with lately. So they are honest people and fair. Working with people like this makes the world a lot better in my eyes. I called him up at 3:30 PM asking him if his crews are going to come. He then rudely asked me what I want him to do? He told me either wait for his crews or just get the "F" out of here. Do not hire Sirris Abatement. If your HVAC contractor hires them as a 3rd party, demand they choose a different asbestos abatement company. Sirris does not sheet off adjacent rooms before asbestos removal. They do not ensure personal items are removed from attic prior to ripping out asbestos and contaminating them. They do not dispose of contaminated items properly, even after numerous phone calls. Ernie, the owner, is terrible to work with. read more

Sirris Abatement is the best! They saved me 3 times during my remodeling of an old condo. I have a strict HOA and so I failed to get a permit right away, but I knew enough that my popcorn ceiling was installed in 1973 and most likely had asbestos, so I went ahead and called Sirris on recommendation of the ceiling guy and they came out took care of it. Once the HOA got wind of what I was doing out there, the HOA HAZMAT team swooped in, halted work until I had shown my paperwork about the asbestos abatement. Whew, Sirris came through and faxed all the proper paperwork to them. There was a huge pile of construction debris (drywall!) in the patio area and the HAZMAT team had it tested for asbestos and said I had to have abatement come out and remove it. Again Sirris took care of it for me. Lastly, the old parquet floor which was adhered to the 5% asbestos linoleum had to be removed by abatement co and of course who else, SIRRIS! Love this company. We were having our ductwork replaced for our HVAC. We needed Asbestos removal in the attic. My contractor called Sirris and set it up. They came early, finished quickly, and were excellent. My HVAC company was able to come in after they finished, and replace the ductwork, the same day. We did not have to spend a night without A/C, and since it was 97 that day, I really appreciated this. They were professional, protected the inside of my house, and cleaned up after they were done. I was very happy with this company, and would recommend them to my friends and family. read more
