For my 22nd Birthday, a group of 12 of us went to Niagara for an awesome bar experience. I read all these great reviews about the club, and thought I had found a winner. The photos looked great, the prices were great, and the reviews were great.
I called weeks previous, and asked about the different bottle service deals. They had a birthday package for $245 for two bottles, and Champagne, includes chocolate truffles, a private booth, no cover, the whole VIP experience. It was 245 + tax and tip. Great price! Anyways, I called for information, called around to a few other bars, nothing was even comparable. Called a week prior and booked the bottle service. Very friendly on the phone, took down all my information, Credit Card Number, and the Name of the package I was getting.
Get to the club, at about 11pm on Saturday March 2nd. no line, instantly brought to a private booth. Received 2 bottles of booze and some mix. Within 2 min without even getting a chance to sit down and enjoy myself I was asked to come sign the payment. It came up as each bottle individually, and a total for just over 400 dollars. Not what I had ordered. I told the lady that was our hostess for the night, that this number was incorrect. She said she rang in the 2 bottles and this is what it had came up with. I said I had ordered a Birthday package for 245 plus tax and tip. Instead of instantly getting the manager, she asked me to sign the bill, and she would deal with it. At this point I'm pretty buzzed without a clear head, Hell I went down to Niagara to celebrate my 22nd birthday. She came back said there was an error, and brought me a new bill. for the correct amount. She apparently voided the first transaction. At this point she says, I charged your card now the correct amount and it has declined. I have my hotel on my credit card, and other stuff, a 1000 dollar limit. The point is. the first transaction went through without an issue. When you void a transaction, it doesn't instantly go back onto your credit card. It takes 2 or 3 days. I don't have enough available credit on my card for BOTH transactions. At this point I say, let me call the bank through the 1 800 number whatever. So I call the bank, and they said there is a pending transaction for just over 400 dollars. and then there's decline for the second amount they have tried to charge you. You don't have enough available credit in your account as the pending transaction will count with against your available credit. I went back in, spoke to the manager. He understood, and said it was there fault, to go enjoy my birthday and they would sort it out. Please tell me how I'm suppose to enjoy my birthday when I need to have a serious conversation with somebody at 2am closing time for the bar. They didn't offer any different solutions, they didn't offer to hold a piece of ID and try the card again in 2 or 3 days. They didn't offer anything to say sorry for ALL the hassle that I had to go through.
Anyways, the package was suppose to include Champagne and Truffles, which I saw neither of. I went BACK to the manager, said the package i ordered included champagne. He then got somebody to bring it out. We stayed there and drank the booze. I was so mad I should have left, but the booze had already been open and I figured I wasn't going to dish out that much money to leave the booze there.
The bar was nice. It was fancy, BUT there must have been no more then 50 people there. The had the ENTIRE upstairs blocked off, as they said they were not busy enough to open it. It went from this HUGE great nightclub, to awful all within an hour.
When we were about to get ready to leave. they had proceeded to tell me that my credit card was charged for 200 dollars, and the remaining balance had to be paid through another form of payment. I never authorized them to charge my card 200 dollars but signed off on it, feeling like I had no other choice. My friend stepped up, and covered the reaming portion. It was embarrassing for me, and upsetting all together.
I would NOT recommend this club to anybody. Did not receive a VIP experience
