I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Blundstone. I came into the store intending to purchase two pairs of boots, but unfortunately, the interaction I had with a the long brown hair female Australian employee completely changed my mind.
To begin with, the customer service was disappointing. The employee assisted other customers around us but never approached or acknowledged us. She probably assumed we weren't serious buyers. I had to get her attention myself to receive assistance, which already made the experience underwhelming.
When she finally assisted me, I asked if she could find a pair of boots without scratches because the pair she initially brought out had a very noticeable scratch on the front. Considering these boots cost $200 and up, I expect the merchandise to be in good condition, especially when purchasing brand-new footwear.
I then noticed her buffing out the scratch at the register. When she returned, she told me, "I found another pair in the back." However, I quickly realized she had simply taken the original pair and attempted to cover up the scratch with what appeared to be cleaner. The scratch was still visible just damp.
When I pointed this out and said, "Oh, the one you just buffed out?" she paused before insisting that all the boots have those marks but this was a deep scratch. That is simply not true. I own multiple pairs of Blundstone boots, so I'm very familiar with the product and know what to expect from a new pair.
What bothered me most wasn't the scratch itself. It was the dishonesty and the assumption that I wouldn't notice or know the difference. Had she simply been honest and told me that was the only pair available, I would have appreciated the transparency and made my decision accordingly.
Instead, I left the store without purchasing either of the two pairs I had originally planned to buy.
When customers are spending $200 or more on each pair of footwear, they deserve quality products and, just as importantly, honest and attentive customer service. This experience was frustrating and completely unnecessary. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because customers should feel valued and respected, not ignored and misled. read more
