20+ years ago I heard neighbors talking outside my home about this amazing doctor, someone they…read moretruly trusted. When I asked the name of this doctor...they said Dr Franklin Lowe. I made an appointment that week and have never looked back. Dr Lowe is a compassionate, caring, person...not just an MD. When I first went to him the wait time was horrible, but since he is now concierge there is generally almost no wait time. His staff takes you back and does a pre-screen so that the time with Dr Lowe is on point. A word about his staff....they are excellent. They treat you like family and know you as an individual, not just a name on a file. Both my husband and I see Dr Lowe, love and respect him..... he is family to us. And has seen us through many crisis - some quiet serious with excellent results. His referrals to other doctors are impeccable..... the very best. To sum it up ......I'm having PT for a hip replacements and when I mentioned the name of my surgeon and Dr Lowe (my GP), the therapist said...."you've got the best", this is also what I'm told when ever I mention Dr Lowe's name in the local medical community. Thank you sir for 20+ years of care and good health at age 80.

Every time we turned to Dr Lowe, we know he is gonna take care of them for him and that he is in absolutely good hands. Only a doctor who truly cares about his patients would be this thorough and thoughtful in his diagnosis and treatment. Recently, I have experienced some health issues and was told to find a specialist by multiple physicians, however, the help from these physicians does not extend beyond their limited scopes. I could not even get any facetime with specialists for months. I turned to Dr. Lowe and became his patient with my husband's referral. He reassured me with his knowledge on the subject so I'm not as lost I was. He was able to get me tests and specialist appointments with a wait time of days!! This is truly amazing especially after seeing other physicians shrugging their shoulders at me for weeks.

After getting my lab results, she incorrectly diagnosed me as "Diabetic" even though it is common practice to have more that 3 high A1C readings before pronouncing that diagnosis. Frankly, she shocked me when she told me I was diabetic. She sent me to see her useless dietician, presumably so she could bill Medicare for these service. I did not authorize the dietician visits, not was I aware that she had to note me as "diabetic" in order for the services to be covered. I had to ask her to delete the diagnosis which I am not sure she ever did. This is not the first time she shocked or scared me. Later, she told me I needed to come in for fluids because my Sodium levels were low. When I rushed down, after cancelling other commitments, she said I did not need fluids after all, to just drink more water. The last straw was when she ordered labs tests that I found out from Quest, were "not medically necessary", and I ended up with a close to $500 bill. I worked with her office staff for 5 months (yes, 5 months!) to get this bill reduced. I never got an answer as to why she ordered 3 tests that were not deemed a medical necessity. One is supposed to sign a waiver when presented with a test or procedure that Medicare may not cover. I was never asked to sign the Medicare waiver. This sounds like malpractice to me. When I called the front office staff they would bounce me from one person to the next, wanting me to give the whole story over and over again. They would put me on hold for 10 or 20 minutes, no problem. The person I was working with, Brianna, was always "busy on another line", or "just stepped out". When I finally did speak with Brianna, she would say that she hadn't gotten around to my issue and to give her another month. She told me that the lab could not send me to collections for a long time. I finally just paid the lab bill to get this resolved and off of my desk. I would not recommend Dr Loomis or her staff or office to anyone looking to have a meaningful relationship with their primary care doctor. If this is how they treat me when I am basically healthy, what kind of care will they give when really needed. Save your time and find a competent, caring doctor.

She has really helped me make some positive changes in my life. It's always a pleasant experience when I'm in her office and I really believe I'm getting top-notch care. Not only does she provide excellent medical care. She also focuses on diet and exercise. It's more than just you need to eat better but she explains things and has a nutritionist available. I'm so happy that I found her. She has become our family doctor and we are all so happy about it.

I went to check on a potential broken rib, and she ordered a spine X-ray which would not have determined if I had a fracture. She tried to upsell me red light therapy, cut me off mid-sentence when I was giving my medical history, and abruptly left the office to take a call. From the office staff, to the medical student taking information, to the doctor/patient interaction, it was one of the worst medical appointments I've had.

During the pandemic they were playing games with my life. I needed certain diabetic medications and this is the experience I went through. This has been the most incredibly frustrating experience ever. I am an RN so I understand that…read moreworking in healthcare is demanding and difficult, however, what I've experienced is unacceptable. I made an appointment with dr. Chan 3 weeks ago to follow up about my thyroid (and an unrelated swollen lymph node). He ordered labs and two ultrasounds (one for my thyroid and one for the lymph node). I got the ultrasounds done the following week. The ultrasound of the neck/lymph node was uploaded into my chart as well as my labs. The thyroid ultrasound, however, was missing. Although I believe it is their job to follow up with the imaging center to get those missing ultrasounds, I took it upon myself to be proactive and get those images sent over to Optum. Finally both ultrasounds were uploaded into my chart. Still no call or anything from Dr. Chan or his assistant. I've sent messages in my chart asking if I can get a call regarding my results. No call, nothing . Only a message from Dr. Chan in the my chart app saying he is going to refer me to endocrinology and that his MA would contact me asap with that referral (still no peace of mind on my end...are my results concerning to him? No call, nothing clarity). Days go by and still no referral or call from either of them. I call Optum again and the call center lady said they would send a message over to them telling them to call me asap. Two more days go by still no call. I message again on the my chart app asking for that referral. All I get back is a screen shot from his MA of the different names and numbers for Optum's endocrinologist. No message. No context. Just a screen shot. I took that as "we referred you to these Optum endocrinologists" I call the seal beach office where the endocrinologist is located from her screen shot, and what do you know...they told me that dr. Chan didn't actually refer me to the endo.... I return to the my chart app messaging to let her know she didn't actually refer me to anyone. I call Optum again and get the same call center personal...the lady on the phone explains how it is unacceptable that no one could pick up the phone and just give me a call with my results and with referral information. She put me on hold said that she just talked to the office manager for Los Al and that the office manager would be calling me within the next 5 mins because what I've been through has been unacceptable.... Well, it's been 2 hours since that "5 mins" and still no call and their office is closed now. Absolutely ridiculous. I just need a referral to what seems like an "urgent" matter regarding my thyroid and I can't even get a 5 min phone call or response from my provider or his assistant...

I had the chance to see Dr. Trivedi once when Dr. H was unavailable, and I was so impressed by his bedside manner that I requested to switch to him as my gastroenterologist. However, my request was denied after Dr. H's input citing that patients can't switch doctors within the practice. Their secretary staff are at least quick to comply with sending over medical records to my new gastroenterologist or other doctor's that may need my medical summary history performed by Dr. H. If you have the option, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Trivedi. My mother sees him, and two other doctors I know absolutely adore him as well. It's just unfortunate that I'm not allowed to be one of his patients!
