Good Doctor. Unfortunately has the worst front office staff. I have been going to her for 20 years. I have always tiptoed around her front office staff. I don't understand how she always makes sure to pick the rudest of all to man her front office.
She sometimes has her husband at the front office. He is also very rude, and aggressive. He sometimes makes medical decisions in her absence. Red Flag!! He once told me that a medical issue that I was having was nothing...who was he to make that decision?
They have very strict policies about timing. If you are late by more than 15 minutes, your visit gets canceled. You will be charged the $25.
If you call even 1 minute past their 24-hour cancellation window, you have to pay $25.
But, guess how long they make the patient wait? Minimum of 1 hour. Max - 2 hours. I have had to arrange for emergency pickups for my children and have had to miss office meetings, whenever I had an appointment with her.
Such a shame that I had to give her a bad review because she was a good doctor.
Today, I called 30-45 minutes after my 24-hour window to cancel my appointment, which was an annual check-up. No copay. The front office woman said that I had to pay $25. But, when I asked her how is it fair that she asks me to pay if I am late by a few minutes, but then makes me wait for 1-2 hours to be seen by the doctor. She nonchalantly asks me, "Well, are you providing any service". I had to tell her, "Well, I pay for the service. You need my money, but you won't respect my time. But, I have to pay you the money and respect your time."
I asked to speak to the doctor. She said that the doctor doesn't take these types of calls. When asked who is the manager, she said the buck stops with her. So, then I said, I would not pay for the service if the doctor had not seen me. I insisted that I needed to speak to the doctor. She called me within 15 minutes and told me that the doctor said that I could see any other doctor if I wanted to, but I had to pay the $25. I don't think the doctor said this. These front desk women are playing her, I guess.
Daylight robbers!! what can I say? This is not the first time this practice has stolen money from me. Many times in the past 20 + years. They won't even give me an appointment if I don't pay the penalty.
Anyways, the bad experience was shared with the community today. Many women came forward claiming that they stopped seeing Dr. Srividya once they came to know that her husband was controlling the practice. He hires all the rude staff. They have also experienced rudeness from him. Some have experienced insurance fraud. Some people said that he is nosy and gives them a medical diagnosis.
Dr.Sri herself gets into the psychology business when she is not a psychologist. She once advised that my child should not be sent to college, because of her anxiety at starting college. Not sure how it could be well-intended, but, thank god I didn't listen to her.
Well, there are 1000s of doctors in Southern California who don't need to steal money from their patients. I will be ok seeing them. Good riddance to the front office staff.
Sorry, Dr.Sri. Our family liked you. Hope you didn't say that we are free to see another doctor. Too bad that you lost your 20-year patient to some newly hired rude staff. read more
