20+ years ago I heard neighbors talking outside my home about this amazing doctor, someone they truly trusted. When I asked the name of this doctor...they said Dr Franklin Lowe. I made an appointment that week and have never looked back. Dr Lowe is a compassionate, caring, person...not just an MD. When I first went to him the wait time was horrible, but since he is now concierge there is generally almost no wait time. His staff takes you back and does a pre-screen so that the time with Dr Lowe is on point. A word about his staff....they are excellent. They treat you like family and know you as an individual, not just a name on a file. Both my husband and I see Dr Lowe, love and respect him..... he is family to us. And has seen us through many crisis - some quiet serious with excellent results. His referrals to other doctors are impeccable..... the very best. To sum it up ......I'm having PT for a hip replacements and when I mentioned the name of my surgeon and Dr Lowe (my GP), the therapist said...."you've got the best", this is also what I'm told when ever I mention Dr Lowe's name in the local medical community. My husband has been a patient of Dr. Lowe since he was a little, and recent years I have been going with him to Dr. Lowe for his visits since we moved back to SoCal. Every time we turned to Dr Lowe, we know he is gonna take care of them for him and that he is in absolutely good hands. Only a doctor who truly cares about his patients would be this thorough and thoughtful in his diagnosis and treatment. Recently, I have experienced some health issues and was told to find a specialist by multiple physicians, however, the help from these physicians does not extend beyond their limited scopes. I could not even get any facetime with specialists for months. I turned to Dr. Lowe and became his patient with my husband's referral. He reassured me with his knowledge on the subject so I'm not as lost I was. He was able to get me tests and specialist appointments with a wait time of days!! Dr. Lowe is the most caring, thorough, knowledgeable, and dedicated doctor I have ever met. (He has been our family doctor for over 25 years.) My husband's complicated medical condition - congestive heart failure, liver and renal disease, and ascites -requires referrals to and coordination of several specialists. Dr. Lowe referred him to outstanding doctors and continually monitors him with lab work, office visits, and group texts to all doctors involved with his care. He will call or text us anytime day or night to check on how he is doing or to give lab results. If a test is needed, Dr. Lowe arranges for it to be done immediately. He has definitely extended my husband's life along with a better quality of life. The office staff are caring and efficient and are very supportive of his patients. My husband chose another doctor so I finally get to post this review. My husband and I went through a traumatic and emotional experience. In our raw and sensitive state Dr. Lowe made an offensive remark against me and my relationship. About two years ago my husband, then boyfriend, went to the ER. While the doctor (not Lowe) was checking vitals some reading made it appear as though my husband was about to go into cardiac arrest. The conversation changed from "how old are you?" to "are you on cocaine?" in two seconds. Six to eight attendants rushed the room and hooked him up to what seemed like every machine available and injected him with chemicals to stop him from having a heart attack. Long story short, he was not going to have a heart attack but they kept him overnight for observation. We started the night at a family dinner and I left my healthy boyfriend at the hospital to go home alone. It was a horribly painful feeling to leave him but the nurses said I had to go. The next day I went back to the hospital as soon as visiting hours were open. After a while Dr. Lowe came in to check up. When Dr. Lowe found out were were not married and living together he turned to me and said "Oh, well you know what they say about the cow giving away milk for free." I was so shocked I couldn't say anything. I probably had about four hours of restless sleep worrying about my partner and this arrogant bastard wants to make pointless intrusive comments against the patient's girlfriend? He may be an amazing doctor but his obnoxious, self righteous behavior is intolerable. read more

I have seen Dr. Lowe for the past 20 years - since i was 18 years old. My 93 year old grandmother has been a patient for 24 years and my mom was a patient as well - until she moved out of the area and had to change doctors. Although the wait at the office is often (typically) quite long - it is because Dr. Lowe spends quality time with each patient and will MAKE TIME for any patient who needs to be seen immediately. He is personable, funny, likeable, and professional. He always calls personally to check up on me after any sort of illness or procedure. I would give him 10 stars if that was an option! read more

Dr. Lowe is a great Doctor. He is a very good man and does his best for every patient. His staff needs lots of work. The shortest wait I have had was 3 hours. He seems to be way over booked but I don't think that his fault. Like I said, great doctor but everything out side of the very short amount of time you have with him is frustrating to say the least. read more

Dr. Lowe is an AMAZING doctor. I have been a patient of his for 10 years now and he is my daughters doctor as well. He will call and check up on you in a couple days to make sure you are feeling up to par. The only down side is the waiting. Expect to wait in the waiting room for 30-45 mins and then in the room for another 20. The waiting is a drag, but i would go though it becuase you wont find a doctor more caring. read more

I have been going to Dr.Lowe since I was 13. I am almost 43. I have a son who is 19 that has only ever seen Dr. Lowe as well. My whole family has gone to him since day one when my mom found him 30 years ago. There is no one else like him he treat you like family he follows up with you he checks on you etc. whenever you need to get in due to an emergency or something the staff I always make sure to get you in as soon as possible. Yes, sometimes you're waiting a few hours when you make a last-minute appointment in order to get scene but at the end it's well worth it. read more

Dr Lowe is the BEST! He takes the time to get to know each and every one of his patients and is able to relay personal details which are relevant to their care. He takes the time to call and follow up after visits and treatment. I have never met a doctor who cares more about their patients than he does. He is in a class apart from the rest. read more

Dr Lowe provides the best care of any doctor I have ever visited. My family and I have exclusively seen him as our primary care physician for 17 years and would not give him up for anything. We make sure that we always have insurance that allows us to see him. Waiting may be long but this Dr puts in 12-16 hours everyday with a smile on his face and a ear to listen to your concerns. Sometimes on a Sunday he will jsut call to see how everyone is doing..... That is true concern for his patients... I would give him 10 stars if I could. read more

I love Dr Lowe. He is straight forward and tells you what to do to get better. It's up to you if you listen or not. He will answer all your questions and never makes you feel rushed. Unforgivable! I received a phone call from Dr. Lowe's office staff. They said Dr. Lowe asked them to call me and tell me my MRI was normal. I picked up a copy of the MRI report the same day they called me. Everything is not normal which explains why I am in so much pain. I called back to Dr. Lowe's office on the same day and left Dr. Lowe a voice message explaining what I was told and what I saw, and requested a call back from him to figure out what he will do next. That was about two weeks ago and Dr. Lowe has not called me back. read more

I got to make a comment for the person who gave 1 star. Agreed, Dr Lowe is by far not very politically correct....he makes random calls to my home at 10:pm and asks if "I'm still fat or if I'm going to care enough about my wife and kids to do something about getting healthy". Don't miss the point here... A doctor actually calls me at my home in off hours when he has no other reason to call me except to see if I'm making the right choices. Regarding his practices, it may take an hour or so in the waiting room to see him, BUT he doesn't rush the visit. He answers all questions, he asks all questions and he makes recommendations that, if followed, will lead you to a healthier life. I like the fact that a "PILL" is not always his first "go to", as he will look for the right solution, whether that is found in medication or making better life choices. This office doesn't accept new patients so no point on even having them as your office I had them for a while and then first time I call a rude lady after like 5 min of me telling her since the beginning I had never seen the Dr before was like oh we don't take new patients read more

Dr. Lowe is the very best Dr. I know or ever had===except after over about a 20 year Dr.-patient relationship with him I find him slipping a little. The wait with an app't can run 1 1/2 hours in the waiting room & he is relying on students too much. Lets Face it, Doc Lowe is a Character. He has a good bed side manner. When it comes to your health he is more than serious. The guy loves what he does and cares about each and every one of his patients or he wouldn't be working 12-16 hours a day and on the weekends. You can expect a call from him personally to check up on you or to discuss a lab result. As others before me have said, the wait may be long but it's worth every minute! Bring a great book and enjoy the down time while you wait - also a sweater, as his office is always freezing. It takes hours to get in and out of a Dr. Lowe visit, but those hours are rewarded by the most caring, attentive, and well informed doctor ever. If he doesn't know the answer to something, he consults his I-phone, or brings in a specialist for an answer. He questions the results on diagnostic tests - calling personally and talking with the doctor who reviewed the results and pointing out potential inconsistencies. He is blunt - tells you when you need to lose weight or even perhaps get out of an unhealthy relationship - but is that a bad thing? Sometimes we need to hear the truth! As one of his first patients - over 30 years and one of two of his original patients still alive - I can vouch for this wonderful, caring man. He follows up religiously and gives you all the attention you need to try to get the right answers to keeping you healthy. Waiting - yes - don't expect to just pop in and out of his office. Bring that good book or a couple of great magazines, relax and take some self time, then be there to be taken care of by the best physician who ever walked the earth! And give him a hug if he slows down enough so you can catch him! But - bring a sweater! read more

My wife's new insurance prompted me to look for a new primary care physician a couple years ago and as luck would have it, I was looking to also be seen by an orthopaedic specialist who was in Dr Lowe's medical group. Fortunately, this all came together and the main thing I want to say is that they rarely make them like Dr Lowe anymore! It's sometimes a little tough to coordinate with his office and wait times can be long but once you've been there and see things going close to 100% (Dr Lowe himself usually at 115%), you can better appreciate the situation. More importantly, the very first time I was seen by Dr Lowe I really got the sense that he cared about me, the patient, not just the notes on my chart (straight out of Patch Adams right?)...and all later visits were the same. Not since having a pediatrician that I continued going to until a new insurance company wouldn't let me (well, to be fair I was almost 30 by that time!), have I felt like I'm really with the right doctor. read more

I was referred to Dr. Lowe, after having a very bad series of office visits, at another Dr's. office, in the area. Being actually lied to by the Dr. and his assistants was the final straw that broke the camels back. Some close friends had recommended Dr. Lowe, and my wife had only seen him once. At that time her blood pressure was sky high, and in an effort to calm her down he asked how things at home and work were going. At some point, she told him of an issue that I had been going through, and let him know that I had been going through a number of X-rays, MRI's, and CT scans, but was looking for an honest Dr. that would view my records and give us an honest opinion. He asked her to have me bring him everything I had and he would look it over, even before seeing me face to face. At 10PM that night he called, and wanted to see me in his office, the very next morning. To make a long story short, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney cancer, and if not for him, I would likely not be here today. I owe the man my life!! He is very simply, and outstanding Dr. and I'm thankful every day for his professionalism! I don't mind the long waiting room waits, and also don't mind the occasional off the cuff remarks, as others have stated. I am just so grateful for his service! read more
