We decided to try this place tonight as we live close and have heard great things and it did not disappoint! They had jazz music tonight and the atmosphere was great. We started with fried pickles and then I ordered the burger with waffle fries. My fiancée had the wedge salad. By far the best burger I've had in the area! Waffle fries were really good too. Their cauliflower was delicious! I loved that they had a back outside area and I can imagine when it's dark itd be super nice. The employees were very nice and the food came out quickly. The only thing I didnt like was the cheese on the nachos. Dont get me wrong I LOVE fake cheese better than fresh cheese on nachos but this one just wasnt good. I'd def go back tho! I used to be a big fan of this place but they've made same changes recently that have changed my mind. I'm hoping they'll read this review and change their ways. First, they got rid of my beloved fried chicken sandwich. Then, they eliminated included sides with sandwiches so the Nashville chicken sandwich and fries came out to a total of $17 for lunch plus tax and tip. $17 for a small chicken breast sandwich and fries is insane. I could go to a fancy proper lunch place for that price. It just doesn't sense whatsoever and it was mediocre at best. I think this place got a little too big for its britches. Hoping they make some changes as I work close by and would love to return. For now, I won't be back. My money is better spent elsewhere. read more

I was extremely disappointed by this restaurants. My girlfriend and I went out on a Friday night at. 7pm. We both ordered food and drinks. After about ten minutes they brought her a white wine that was room temperature. Twenty minutes later they brought my margarita and food. Then another 15 minutes they brought hers. The timing of when the drinks and the food came out really ruined the night and made things awkward. The food was good I'll say that, but everything else was a letdown. read more

We absolutely love this place! It's the perfect combination of delicious food and drinks with a super laid back, fun atmosphere. Love the backyard setup and how it allows adults and children alike to play, and if we adults just want to enjoy our drinks and food (try the cauliflower app-- possibly the best I've ever had), the kiddos have child-sized picnic tables and corn hole to keep them entertained. Owner and staff openly mocked a customer (in front of other customers). The firepit in the back was smoking everybody out due to wet wood. Everybody back there was complaining. One person asked to see if there was anything they can do about it. Then the owner decided to make fun of this customer in front of everybody. I have been to Bluetop twice, once on a Sunday for brunch and once with some colleagues for a corporate event. We chose Bluetop for the event because of their good food, wide drink selection, and the killer patio area. Andy, the owner had me in before the event to pick some menu options, he brought everything out and let me try it all at no cost to me, which was very nice of him. The wagyu sloppy joe is great, the chicken fingers are great finger food, the nachos are hip, and oddly enough the cauliflower is pretty darn good. One of my biggest fears for the event was making everyone go up to the front and reorder anytime they wanted another drink, this ended up being a non-issue as Andy had waiters come around and take our drink orders instead of us always having to go to the front to order again. The menu has Asian influences and the beers are local. The outdoor area is perfect, load it up with a few more games like some darts or horseshoes, etc... and it would be even better. read more

I have been here a half dozen times. The food food usually gets better the service gets worse. Meaning: each time I ask a question I usually get a vague answer. E.g. do you have fresh grapefruit juice... "we don't have any specialty juice all of our juice is organic" Me is it pink? BT "it's just regular we don't have specialty ". It was pink grapefruit They didn't know what bread their Blt was on... she said " it's big and white". I said do you have wheat ? She said"ummm I don't think so". I ordered on rye toast . The tomato jam made the whole sandwich soggy. The bacon was definitely pre cooked cold and greasy. Yuk Once I requested red wine vinaigrette-dressing... and I got the same "ummm, I don't think we have that let me ask". I said it's right here on the menu... he comes back and said yea we don't have that. ???? They just need to learn the menu and ingredients... this is only a couple examples. The restaurant is within walking distance from where I live and wanted to try. My friend and I went here for dinner. We both ordered salads. I had the Strawberry Spinach w/ Poppy Seed Vinaigrette and he had the the Bluetop Chop. The place deceivingly small from the outside, but they actually have a pretty big area once you inside. The decor is rustic and was nice. It's kinda hard to judge their food based on just their salad, but I was unimpressed. I thought it was overpriced. I could've easily made it at home for less. But I will give them another try and have one of their sandwiches next time. read more

We are self proclaimed foodies people, and while they may have professional photographers taking Instagram pics, the food is bland. They made a hamburger with a stiff bun, over cooked the meat. And when they didn't have the wine my wife wanted,they brought her a 17.00 4oz pour. Needless to say, we spent 100.00 dollars on food that sucked! Love, LOVE their outdoor patio and everything about this restaurant when it comes to first impressions. My friends Charlie R., Erin C. and I wanted to catch up at this fine restaurant because it was highly recommended by my property manager, Dan B. Also, it's 5 minutes from my office so that helps too! Ever since my last visit, I've been letting everyone know about their signature Bluetop burger. Their onion jam is absolutely delicious and I've never tasted anything like that before. Their fries are pretty solid and come with the skin on. The kale and spinach dip is good too. Didn't expect it to be served cold and since I'm uber sensitive to salt, it was a tad bit on the salty side for me but the majority of the world probably would think it tastes just fine. Totally dig their decor and their ice and fountain drinks section. It's an overall adorable restaurant with fantastic customer service. During the entire time we were dining there, we were approached at least 3 times by 3 different staff members to check up on us and make sure that everything was stellar. Can't wait to go back and try more menu items. read more

I ordered a beer at the bar and decided that I was a little hungry so I ordered the tots off the "small bites" menu. I should have realized that "small bits" really means small portion. I guess that didn't occur to me because the tots are $9. The tots came in a small paper tray and there were nine tots. Yes nine! Now, if my calculations were correct that would be about $1 per tot. WHAT! Maybe I'm paying for the "special" sauce dribbled all over these over-cooked bagged tots. Nope, it was nothing special. I am amazed at how proud they are of their food. Needles to say I paid over $17 for a small (not even 12oz beer) and nine (yes nine) tots. Reading other reviews it's obvious other people feel the same way. I'm sure the owners have spent a fortune on this place and have to recap their investment. It just seems silly to charge full service fine dining prices for a casual order at the counter neighborhood eatery. When you are a new establishment people come in to check you out. You have one shot to make an impression on the community. Why wouldn't you try and keep up the flow with some return business instead of turning people away. Maybe get rid of a few of the six staff standing around chatting and use that funding to bring down the cost of the food? I don't know but it's disappointing and I don't think I'll be back. Horrible service and management was extremely rude. An employee put two tables together for our party and later the manager said we could not sit there. Apparently you cannot seat unless you ordered first. Nobody greeted us at the door or told us that was was policy. At first the manger said that it was ok but said to remember not to do it next time. Then five minutes later he kicked our group of six out of the table. The way we he handled it was quite embarrassing. The line was now huge. They were very disorganized and folks had to wait in line with those ordering so they could pay. Food was very pricy for such a casual place. $5 for a Miller High Life! Oh if you wanted another drink or order something else you had to wait in line. At one point they stopped taking orders. It was a huge hassle especially with a group of people. read more

Selling point here is the uniqueness of the space. Outdoor dining areas in the front and the back. Two bar areas. Long high top/ bar with seating on both sides for those eating alone. Backyard patio with picnic tables and umbrellas. Cornhole game area. Tiny picnic table sets for the kids to sit. At our request, they split the salad into two plates. Good homemade salad dressings. The sandwich we split too--a generous Reuben that needed Thousand Island Dressing (if it was there, we did not taste it) with homemade potato chips. Nice selection of craft beers. Definitely liked the place and I will return. Night time next time on a cool night. The lights outside will make it seem like a "new" place to visit. read more

Decided to check this place our for lunch on a beautiful afternoon. Super friendly staff, small but excellent local draft list, interesting cocktails, multiple specials and a killer back area with picnic table, corn hole and bocce ball. Decided to go with the burger with hand cut fries. Hands down one of the better ones I've had in recent memory. Prices are reasonable for the overwhelming amount of local ingredients they utilize. What a great Sunday afternoon spot to just hang out and rev yourself up for the work week. The staff was really great, super friendly and eager to please. I can see this being a regular haunt. We tried the italian grinder and the waygu sloppy joe. Both sandwiches were really well executed, I was expecting the sloppy joe to have a more sweet tomato base but it was savory and had a queso sauce that was delectable. I was also impressed with the thick cut, crispy waffle fries, they were beautiful. It's a charming open space with lots of outdoor seating, but as it was pretty hot and humid we sat in the inside just before the open back that was ventilated pretty well by two large fans. We finished off with a skillet cookie and ice cream, it was a very relaxing experience and we will be back to sample more of the menu! read more

Environment: A++++ Food: C+ Drinks: A+++ This place has a lot of promise. Parking is a straight up joke, as other reviewers noted. Drinks were well-crafted and tasted amazing. Order was raw oysters with the bloody mary mignonette, lamb sloppy joe, the curds and tomato dish, and the Veggie banh mi. My partner enjoyed her banh mi, but nothing truly remarkable. The mignonette was overpowering and basically drowned serious flavor from the oysters, and while the oysters tasted great, the smell was a little off. I'd reduce the amount of mignonette and lighten it up a bit - just too heavy for this dish. Presentation was creative, I guess - my dish had a cold chain on it to keep the oysters cool. The parsley(?) is a nice touch but doesn't fit well with the dish. The chips were pretty good as a side, but a little too spicy and oversalted. The appearance is one of store-bought chips, I'm pretty sure they were house made but I didn't get that feel. The lamb sloppy joe was overpoweringly salty, and way too spiced. I don't mind spice if it's done right, but this dish was just a mess of flavors. The pickled onions that came with it didn't provide a great balance to the dish, but the bread and butter pickles were a good choice to cut through some of the flavors. Curds and tomatoes were okay. When I hear "curds" I expect something a little different than what I got... these tasted more like cheese cubes than curds, but it wasn't too bad. Needed a bit more basil or other herb accompaniment, for sure. Drinks were straight up amazing. Environment was straight up amazing. We'll be coming back, I think this might just be growing pains (I hope so). The owner/manager obviously cares. read more
