Bluestone Lane is an Australian coffee shop chain with a location in West Windsor/Princeton in the Nassau Park Pavilion. It's been around for several years, but I had never gotten around to visiting since it's in an odd location of a shopping complex that I rarely think of visiting for a meal. Unfortunately, I visited on a Sunday afternoon when they had taped a message up on the door that they didn't have a cook, so their kitchen was closed. Staff looked bewildered, explaining to me and several others that they were short staffed and couldn't serve food, but can do drinks & pastries. I figured I'd order a croissant to try them out, but the cashier refused to accept payment via the Inkind app, saying that all the other Bluestone Lane locations would take it, but they stopped accepting it. The encounter had all the hallmarks or a poorly managed business on the verge of shutting down. After my visit, I reached out to Inkind customer service, which must have followed up with the business and they insisted that Inkind is accepted at the Princeton location, so their employee who refused it was misinformed or just made up her own rules. Regardless, I won't be returning or recommending them to others due to such a poor first impression. There are better options for coffee and quick meal within a few minutes radius.

We came here from a reward system they have with a few other reatraunts including planta queen so the drink was a good price. We just got a cappachino and it was pretty decent. While there was nothing that made it stand out from the rest nothing took away from it either. When you walk in it has a beach theme meaning almost everything is blue. Maybe it was the server stand or the very clear path, but something made it feel very much like a chain coffee shop. I stopped by for brunch and was pleasantly surprised by both the vibe and the food. The matcha drinks were beautifully crafted--one topped with freeze-dried strawberries, the other with shredded coconut. They were creamy, not overly sweet, and had a nice earthy balance. Definitely some of the better matcha I've had locally. The pulled chicken sandwich was hearty and packed with flavor. I loved the mix of textures--juicy chicken, crisp greens, fresh tomatoes, and toasted bread. The side of wedge fries was a standout: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned with flaked salt. Plus, the house ketchup had a nice tang that paired well. Service was casual but attentive, and the space itself had a clean, modern feel that made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. Will definitely be coming back to try more off the menu!

My iced latte with the banana cold foam was delicious! Also enjoyed the chicken avocado toastie but unfortunately was way too expensive for the portion size. :( I probably will stop by here for a latte again but not for the food because of that.

My stomach could be heard from 10 miles away and as I got hangrier my disgruntled partner and I decided that this was it. So, we stopped by and then proceeded to go to tjmaxx across the street. As the vegan/vegetarian movement grows so does the availability of dishes and that Is great! It brings innovation and a new standard of quality to the table which always intrigues me to try their vegan options. I ordered the chicken bowl but with the vegan chicken. The greens were delicious and the chicken was okay, a bit salty. Although it satisfied the craving. The smoothie was good. It's a smoothie you almost can't eff that up right? Lastly the ambiance was clean and spacious. Would I reallllllly come back for the price? I doubt.

I was surprised how fast we were seated. It a very cute place. Everyone is very friendly and the food was really good. The size of my drink was REALLY SMALL. But it was really good. That's the only real concern but the quality of the food is good! It also looks great! I would come again.

The ambient is nice, you feel welcomed. However, the price of the food is crazy overpriced, especially for the portion size. The coffee was very watery, unfortunately. And the tea was extremely hot (not much of a complaint but the rest is more valid) Wouldn't return, maybe just lower the price of the items especially.

We came an hour before closing, just to have a bite in between lunch and dinner. We got a grain bowl, a smoothie and a latte. The latte was sad. I wouldn't go for coffee. The smoothie was okay, a little iced, but I liked the addition of mint. The grain bowl was quite good. We swapped out the chicken for vegan chicken, which was salty. The vegetables were perfect, however. I just wish the coffee was better.

I walked in and looked around. I wasn't sure where the menu was or line. Employees stared at me I stared back. One employee on the floor sheepishly mustered up a hello I acknowledged. Then, I walked to the order area. The employee at the order area asked me did I want anything? I said no just looking (I was clearly confused about the ordering process and I found the menu on my own). The employee turned back to their peer and kept chatting. I snapped a photo for yelp and left somberly. The place seems interesting but I just didn't feel inspired to order anything due to the energy towards me :( - this was before Christmas.

Dined in and got a matcha latte and beet latte. The matcha latte is very strong and the beet latte was good but bot a strong flavor. The blate was pretty yummy and the potato wedges were seasoned pretty well. The breakfast bowl also tasted very fresh. The service was also really great and everyone checked in to make sure things were okay. Also really liked the aesthetic of the cafe and glad it opened!

I've been to Bluestone Lane quite a few times over the past couple months and I am truly obsessedeverything I've ordered has been so wonderful! The iced mocha is my go-to before work, or just as a treat, and it's such a nice quality coffee & chocolate, the price is comparable to Starbucks but for easily double the quality, so smooth, not too sweet not too bitter, very well balanced. The potato wedges are freaking NEXT LEVEL10/10 recommend, get the upgrade, so crisp yet fluffy and well flavored and that flaky salt is a nice touch. Their breakkie & lunch sandwiches are so great--tasty, filling, but not too heavy, with fresh ingredients (I don't know what kind of tomatoes they use but they're always so ripe). The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, the cafe itself has a calming vibe (ambiance) despite being in a strip mall it's got great lighting and you don't feel closed in. Just a wonderful place, with a wonderful staff and I hope more people can stop by and enjoy it like I've enjoyed it (just not when I'm there because I like when it's quiet ).

The avocado toast here doesn't just come with a side of pretension, it comes with a full dissertation on the spiritual journey of the avocado from tree to plate, and here's where this bougie fever dream takes a turn into the Twilight Zone: I ordered a latte and it came with a complimentary spritz bottle of hair spray. Not as a mistake. Not as a prank. As if the barista thought, "You know what this oat milk cortado needs? A little Aqua Net for volume." I'm talking actual aerosol hair product, like they confused the espresso machine with a salon chair.The truly maddening part? The hair spray latte was genuinely delicious. It was like discovering your car runs better on maple syrup. So naturally, I returned, desperate to recreate this bizarre caffeinated styling experience, only to receive lattes so aggressively sweet they could put a hummingbird in a diabetic coma and tragically, hair spray-free. Apparently, achieving the perfect balance of espresso and Aussie Scrunch Spray is an art form that cannot be replicated. The Australian coffee and brunch place next to Paris baquette at Nassau park. The cafe was clean and modern. But there were only one employee in front who prepared coffee and let customers to be seated. A cup of americano ordered to go took a while to come out. Also, the coffee was very bitter. read more

Nice menu and ambience. Prices are on the high side. But I ordered a breakfast burrito and asked them to take out the bacon. (I'm vegetarian.) They said they would. So I got the burrito, took a bite, and my mouth was full of bacon. That's pretty inexcusable in my book. I told the server and she said "sorry" but didn't do anything to try to fix the situation. Didn't offer to take something off the bill, or replace the order, anything. This seemed like multiple breakdowns. First, my order got messed up, or the cook botched it, and second, they didn't do anything to make it up. For these prices, and for a place that presents itself as health-conscious and enlightened, that's kind of awful. Honestly, I don't see a reason to go back and I regret going there in the first place. read more

Princeton's greatest hits by way of the Hamptons and Down Under all under one roof. Smoothies, "proteins", avocado and an infinite array of coffees, pleasantly served and prepared in a very modern, relaxed setting that strangely combines the seafaring spirit of Montauk and Australia right down to the Vegemite (no thank you.) The food was solid albeit premium priced to the hilt. If you're the adventurous type try the Kangaroo tartare (kidding) although the fried egg croissant was very good. I've been in here twice now, and each time I get the same feeling - this place is trying to live up to the healthy, unique Bluestone Lane branding but the food seems like it's prepackaged, the drinks aren't made fresh, but served from premade mixes, and the displays are dingy and empty. Over $7 for a drink that was poured from a premade mix is maddening. Feels like a fake version of the authentic Bluestone Lane I once knew. read more

I have been meaning to try Bluestone Lane ever since it opened so I was excited to finally try it! The interior definitely lived up to my expectations as the decor and all the furniture was bright and modern and nicely put together. It was emptier than we expected, but we were allowed to choose where we wanted to sit. We scanned a QR code to see the menu, which we found to be smaller than we expected. We ordered the spiced chicken wrap and BLATE without the bacon. My BLATE was pretty good and I enjoyed the bread they used. The egg in the sandwich made it so good, but I wish the avocado part was larger as it was just a thin layer on the bread. The potatoes were nicely seasoned and crispy, but the large chunks of sea salt made them a bit too salty. Overall, we had a pretty good time at Bluestone and would recommend it to others, but we probably wouldn't return due to the limited nature of the menu. read more

The ambience was super cozy & welcoming. The service was great, my vanilla latte was on the sweeter side and I requested to remake it and they did it immediately and with a smile. We ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, it was delicious but the pancakes were a little cold. Overall, great experience and would def go again! read more

Loved the ambiance and set up of this place. I had the chai latte with almond milk and it was delicious. The food, on the other hand, was extremely overpriced and below average. I had the avocado toast which was $15 and it was served on a tiny slice of bread with maybe a quarter of an avocado on top, some feta, and 1 baby tomato sliced in half. Absolutely no kind of seasoning. Felt like a waste of money, and I was still hungry after it. read more

Great time meeting with a friend for brunch at Bluestone! The cafe interior is modern and sleek. My friend got the BL burrito and enjoyed it. I got the gren baked skillet and enjoyed it but it was burnt on top. Also enjoyed the decaf latte. Would come back but order something else. read more

The first time is when it initially opened; the owner/manager said they just opened and didn't have food, because they won't turn on the grill just for two people. So my wife and I just had coffee and were excited to go back in the future when everything was up an running. It's been a while since then, and I figured I'd take my daughters there for Sunday Brunch. We sat down and ordered from the menu. We ordered one Hot Chocolate, an Aussie Iced Latte, and one Aussie Iced Chocolate. Of food we wanted a Chicken wrap, but substitute it with the garden chicken(on the menu for an extra $6) and both the dauthers ordered a Cauliflower Bowl withouth red onions. Then waitress came back and told us they don't have Ice Cream and so both the Aussie drinks can't be made. Also they don't have garden chicken so I can't have the wrap either. I then ordered a Iced Chai Latte. Didn't feel like eatting anything else. The Hot Chocolate was first to come to the table. Then both the cauliflower bowls came; the waitress apologized that they didn't have any red onions, which was OK since they didn't want red onions; but what if someone else did? Yet another item on the menu they didn't have. The bowls where small in portion portion and pretty bland for the amount of money they are charging for them. The girls finished their food, and we were joking that "I think they forgot my Iced Chai Latte." That's when they finally brought it to the table. First trip here. Nice spot for all day breakfast or a spot of lunch with table service and takeout. Cold draught flat white was nice. You can buy their coffee beans too. Baked green eggs with spinach and mushroom in a mini skillet was good. Decent avocado toast. Menu had enough to satisfy everyone. Worth a try. read more

We paid over $20 (with tip) for a very meh and overpriced mocha, a tiny cup of granola with yogurt ($10 for that alone, robbery), and an iced coffee with ice cream. The ice cream had a strange texture that seemed like it had melted and refrozen. The service also sucked. We asked for a couple extra minutes and were ignored for 15 more minutes. Visually, it looked fantastic, and the interior was moist (dry cake is a crime!), and it had all kinds of chocolate on it and in it, but the flavor was just "good". My socks remained on after tasting it. It was like they left the something special out that would have taken it from good to memorable. It looked great, but the taste didn't quite live up to the visuals. I'd eat it again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it for someone's birthday. The people working there are nice, but it can be a bit slow sometimes to make it through the register during the breakfast or lunch hours, especially if there's an indecisive person in front of you who changes their mind every fifteen seconds while picking up some pastries for the office, and she's oblivious to the five people waiting in line behind her. Although it's not the sort of place that's going to me primary destination, I'll keep on going here when I'm starving and need something to get me through my trip to the Home Depot. I came on a busy Saturday at about 11:45 and because I was by myself I was able to get the last seat at the counter, otherwise the wait was 35 minutes or more for groups of two or more people. I ordered the kale juice which was kale, apple, lemon & was yummy. I ordered the summer special lobster avocado toast with 2 eggs over easy. The servers & all staff were very busy but pleasant. My meal was good, no complaints & they did have 2 nice chunks of real lobster meat on the thick whole grain toast. The only problem came when I went to use my coupon, they asked for my phone number which I gave them. And then they told me I was not in the system. Then they asked me if I could login on the app in which I told them I didn't know if I had the app because I don't have this restaurant locally and I only eat here maybe once a year but clearly the coupon had come to me in my email, and was due to expire on July 31 and this was July 25. Even though it was only five dollars it was the principle of I would've eaten somewhere else if I could not use this coupon. So although they were busy, I could tell that they were kind of annoyed that they had to go in the back and asked the manager and then there was some big production of having to enter my email and phone number into the app. This all seemed rather ridiculous considering most places if you have a coupon and it doesn't work and it's legitimate they can just take five dollars off your bill at the register not sure why that was not possible? Anyway, in the meantime of them going to the back, I managed to find the app get into it. Enter my phone number and email reset a password and then it showed that my coupon was in the app. Long story short I did get the five dollars off of the meal and then handed a five dollar bill to my server as her tip. This restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch and I believe it closes at 3 PM. It does get very busy weekend mornings. It's similar to a First Watch cafe if you are familiar with those.

The bent spoon always commands that kind of line and is always worth the wait. In addition to their rotating flavors, they also have pints for sale, some baked goods, and even some hot chocolate (in the colder months)! The ice cream itself is perfectly rich and creamy, with a great consistency. The flavors are always unique, but not unwelcome. I always make a point of trying to stop in whenever I'm in the area. On Easter Sunday, my girlfriend stumbled upon Bluestone Lane Princeton Cafe, which she wanted to try. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't crowded, allowing us to enjoy the atmosphere. The interior decor immediately caught our attention with its charming blend of white and blue, having a simplistic yet elegant vibe. After being seated by our friendly server, we looked the menu, which, though limited that day, still offered a decent selection. I got the chicken wrap and my girlfriend got the B.L.A.T.E without bacon, we were both satisfied with our choices. Personally, I found my chicken wrap to be filling and delicious, although the sea salt on the potato wedges occasionally became overpowering. Similarly, my girlfriend enjoyed her dish, although she noted that the avocado spread was a bit thin for her liking. She also found the sea salt overpowering at points on the potato wedges. This café offers a minimalist and serene atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat. The service here is truly outstanding--some of the friendliest and most welcoming staff I've come across in the area. Every coffee is beautifully presented, with mochas served alongside a little piece of chocolate and flat whites so perfectly crafted, you almost don't want to take that first sip. The food portions are generous, fresh, and delicious. While the prices are on the higher side, the combination of excellent service, a peaceful ambiance, and high-quality coffee and food makes it well worth it. Highly recommend this spot! read more

I had the pleasure of having the pumpkin spice latte which was really good considering that fall is my favorite time of year and everything good about it was delivered in that cup. The lemon ricotta pancakes are a new favorite of mine and I'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu! Their service was pretty good. My server was very polite and very well versed with the menu so that helped me in choosing what to have. Overall I think this is definitely worth a visit if you haven't already tried this place. I'm planning to go back this weekend with some of my corkers. read more

I pulled in, parked and walked in to a chill large warehouse-looking space with painted library walls on one end with comfy leatheresque easy chairs and small tables for privacy, and a long row of tables/wooden benches/chairs along running the length of the deep room and partially across from the service area. I had to acknowledge feeling passing strange being in a cafe for the first time in a long while, but I managed to check their menu and order a small Americano to go before taking a seat at the end table closest to the door. Why not sit and relax for a few before returning to my wheels? It wasn't crowded around noon, and the folks seemed like they were settled in for a while. Some working; most chatting. I sipped the strong steaming hot joe. Yep! Definitely strong enough to remove the wearies and retune me up for my afternoon agenda. Still, couldn't help feeling a little out of place. Just spending money for commercial coffee, once so commonplace; but now so strangely wasteful put me in touch with how transitory some habits are. Three average caffeinated stars for the ho-hum of this or any such consumption outpost. I think I have lost my Lyberry card.

The latte was good (not delicious), but a tad watery with a fullness of flavor missing. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon and the place was busy, but not overwhelming so. Tables were full, but it was only a short wait for me to place my simple order (by coffee shop standards) of a small, vanilla latte. However, once my order was taken (yes, the wait-server was pleasant) and I paid, I was left to figure it out. First time in and so I didn't know what the deal was: do I wait where I am? Pick up at a different counter? Ok...but where? Does someone call my drink out when it's ready (there's no put-your-name-on-a-cup thing -- which IS annoying, but apparently can be more handy than I've previously thought)? Is the order stated when the cup is placed down? The person who waited on me had vanished into a gaggle of chatting and giggling girls behind the counter, so I asked another customer. (FYI: you wait at the perpendicular counter to your left of the register.) No big deal, but it's one of those "little things" that separates the four stars from the five. I moved to the "wait" counter and observed a few drinks being placed down -- all beverages in similar cups -- and had to (again) ask someone else for help (i.e., which order was mine), as the barista who made my drink put it down and then disappeared into that gaggle of girls. Maybe because I've lived in SE Florida for more than 20 years, but it definitely does not have that true Boca feel. Nonetheless, given the options in the area, Hamilatte is a welcome attempt at something different, and definitely a preferred choice to Starbucks.
