Have to agree with Amy K that this place is one of my favorites on 2nd Street. I love finding good gifts for friends and having that "unique" gift is easy to do here. And yes, Krys G.... I have those same sushi PJs as well! Mine aren't flannel, but they are that same sushi print. So fun. I love those thread bare t-shirts that are instantly comfy and they have a ton of them here. All unique to express my inner Pisces zen-ness. They also have a great collection of fancy maps that go great with gifts when you need that theme gift. I love this store! I only wish they stayed open later on the weekends. It never fails that after dinner on 2nd street, I'll walk by Blue Windows and they will have just closed. But it's probably better for my wallet that don't close later! My favorites to look at are the jewelry. They have the most beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces. The sales people are very helpful. I got one of my favorite necklaces here (actually my mom let me pick out something for Christmas a few years back...thanks, Mom!) and it still looks great. My favorite shop on 2nd St! This is my go-to spot when I need to get a gift. The girls in the shop are always so helpful and make great suggestions. Everything is adorable from the home decor, candles, clothes, jewelry, books, and cards. I have to be super disciplined when I go there and have to remember that I can't just be buying things for myself. They always offer to gift wrap my gift and do the most amazing job! We ventured inside because my mom thought it was Anthropologie - about the same price points but the quality and originality is much better. Blue Windows is probably the most unique of all shops I have been in before! It's got lots of everything and is decorated very cute! I suppose the decorating sense reminds me of an Anthropologie store ran into Hallmark, and Great News. In Blue Windows you can find everything from cookbooks, cool dishes, women's clothes, jewelry, baby gifts, etc. etc. The prices are definitely steep but it depends on what you are looking at. Move over, Open Sesame! This has become my favorite business in Long Beach! This place is curated so well-- from the products to the displays, everything is so delicately and thoughtfully placed. All the products are high quality and so well-chosen. I bought my husband a shirt last weekend when they had a 20% off sale throughout the store. It was a little too small so I brought it back today and traded for the next size up. The girl at the register made me pay the 20% difference since the sale is over. It was the exact same shirt! WTF? Ridiculous. Nice little boutique on Second St...when I first walked in my initial reaction was that it reminded me of Anthropologie. You can tell there's a lot of love put into this store and that every item is unique in it's very own way. Shopping while brown??? Don't come here. I have shopped here a few times and this is the first time I didn't feel welcomed. My husband and I usually shop here at Blue Windows if we come to 2nd street on a date night. We usually shop for our daughter. This time, it felt like we were both being watched. The employee at the front had her eyes on us the entire time. Sadly, as a brown person you become so aware when you're being watched because it happens all the time and any move that makes you seem as though you're going to be searched makes you on high alert. Anyway, I went to the cash register to pay for what I was buying and the woman asked for my Id. I lingered around to see if she was going to ask the two woman who were buying jeans for their id when she didn't, i wasn't surprised. I asked her why she didn't ask the other woman and she said she did. I had to walk out of the store in pure amusement. I'll never shop here again. My absolute favorite pair of winter jammies came from this place. They are neon green, and have pieces of sushi all over them. Affectionately referred to as "sushi jammies." I've worn and washed them so many times they're wearing through in the butt. No, seriously. This place has a lot of one-offs and hard-to-find things. It's great for little gift items and fun things. Definitely on the pricier side though; I think those jammies (flannel long sleeve, long drawstring pant with button-up top) ran about $100. read more

If there is a heaven, I imagine it looks an awful lot like Blue Windows. I want to hide under the racks and sleep here at night! Seriously. First of all, they always have the cutest window displays. I'm not sure who is in charge of designing them but they deserve a big fat raise. They change them regularly and often to match local events or charity drives, which is awesome and makes me feel better about spending my hard earned money here. Make no mistake, this place is NOT cheap but their products are high quality and very unique. They have great gift items that are pretty reasonably priced (candles, soaps, coasters, etc.) but I couldn't, for instance, afford to purchase my dishware here. Italian Vietra plates are beautiful but I'm no Kim Kardashian. At $120+ per plate, I could afford about one of them. Imagine breaking a $120 plate? Not this girl. Their jewelry lines are AMAZING and surprisingly pretty affordable. I especially love their Jeanine Payer line http://www.jeaninepayer.com/ with hand engraved poetry on each delicate piece. Definitely a splurge but well worth it. They also carry small but very cute collection of seasonally appropriate clothing. In the Fall, they have the best scarves, mittens, sweaters and hats and while they aren't Tilly's prices, they are also not Tilly's quality. They are the type of investment items that you will have in your closet for years to come. The card and stationary section is cute and they have a great selection of individual sheets of wrapping and tissue paper for gift wrap. You can either purchase it on it's own or ask them to gift wrap your item. They do a superb job. My hostess gifts that I purchase there are always a hit! SUPER adorable baby section if you are looking to spend a little money on someone else's cute bundle of joy. A bit pricey for anything other than a special occasion gift but any baby sporting these duds is sure to get loads of attention! The staff is super friendly and have accommodated special order requests for me in the past without a shipping fee or long wait time. They are open the usual second street hours (9pm) and they get a really great Xmas ornament Thanksgiving time each year. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. My first yelp blog has to be about my favorite place in Belmont Shore! Blue Windows is by far the best store on 2nd St. and in all of Long Beach/Orange County area. Just walking into Blue Windows is a pleasant experience- it has a great ambiance, good music, and friendly knowledgeable clerks. The merchandise is the best part though. My favorites are their beautiful jewelry (my favorites are Jeanine Payer, Me & Ro, and Ashley Morgan), cute clothes & nighties, leather purses (which I hope to splurge on some day!) and fun home decor and candles. As someone with a background in the wholesale hand made gift industry this very thoughtfully put together independent boutique is close to my heart as a high point on the street. I love their display windows and how artfully the store is put together, and that they are committed to causes beyond the buying and selling of beautiful things. Last week while I was meandering by I spotted some beautiful colorful beads in the window and went in to investigate. There I found a wonderful array of the 31 bits necklaces and bracelets and quickly bought one. I adore this cute and terribly expensive boutique! This is one of those places where you go when you are indulging or rewarding your places, and equally a place you avoid if you are at risk of engaging in some serious retail therapy. I did this once and walked out with nearly a $500 bill and only 2 items! I have a couple of pieces of jewelry from here, as I adore the lines they carry. Small, dainty, feminine pieces that just accentuate your ears or neck wonderfully. Janine Payer is one of their permanent jewelry artists, and my personal favorite. They have a book of her merchandise on hand so you can custom order if it's not on display. I had a special piece made and both she (Janine Payer) and the BW's staff were wonderful about getting me just what I wanted. The staff are always pleasant when you go in, even if you're just browsing and avoiding your desire to overspend. I love all of the baby stuff, but shy away from the price tag to save everyone from having to hear me gasp. They have wonderfully unique items that make for great gifts for others or yourself from home decor to clothing to jewelry to artistic cards. When you go, make sure you have a loaded wallet or at least assure yourself that you'll survive even without that wonderfully unique treat they're teasing you with. Blue Windows is usually my favorite spot on 2nd for gifts and cute little finds! As a regional visual merchandising director (previously for Anthropologie & Free People) I especially like to stop in to see how they have their FP displayed, since they always have a good amount of product and the owner does a great job of creating unique visual displays. I stopped in this morning to pick out a birthday gift for a friend's baby and I have to say I am so turned off - there was no one in the store when I entered and when I came in (happy and smiling), I wasn't greeted. I was not the exception, as this continued to happen with every new customer who entered. Failing to greet me or even smile in my direction wasn't a big deal...but it began to bother me when I proceeded to walk around the store gathering items - I needed help and neither one of the associates behind the counter could step away from their personal conversation to assist me or even acknowledge me. What bothered me even more was the fact that they were speaking mockingly and negatively about the store's owner. I follow this shop on Instagram so I knew exactly who they were referencing when they dropped Heather's name. Bold move during business hours with customers walking throughout the store! As someone who has worked in retail for most of my life, notably in small boutiques, I understand first-hand how vital premium customer service is for any business, but specifically a small business. What I experienced today was disappointing and so tacky - two words I would typically never associate with this store! I ended up purchasing a few gifts because I do love the selection, but I didn't want to give those girls my business today. I will go back when Heather and the other (usually) very friendly ladies are working! Would love to give this boutique 5 stars but I'm hoping this review serves as a PSA for the owner - don't allow negligent employees to taint your otherwise wonderful business! read more

This shop is lovely! They have a ton of unique gifts for all occasions and also hold trunk sales which bring in other unique gifts. The customer service here is exceptional, even on busy days. I was here right before Valentine's gift and they took extra good care of me and wrapped my gift beautifully. The store is located on a busy street so parking can be a bit limited but worth it to stop by. Highly Recommended! Tip: Bring change for meter parking. read more

I only come here to get Jeanine Payer's jewelry especially her necklaces and cards. It is pricey for what it is but I love the quotes that are on the necklaces. Blue windows do have cute cards for birthdays and more... This boutique def do have variety of many things... baby clothing, womens clothing, apothecary, books, jewelry, and more! They do the cutest job on gift wrapping. Every time I come to get a gift, they gift wrap differently which I love because it shows creativity of the store. The staffs are super nice and very helpful. Even when you call to ask questions, they are so informative and helpful. I would def recommend this boutique if you want something different and unique. One down side of this store will be their clothing choice for womens. It doesn't really match the store and I think it would be better if they stick to little gifty items. read more

My wife loves this place and comes here often as they have cute stuff, however, my experience today left a little to be desired. I popped in to pick up a card for my wife because she was having a bad day and when I went to check out, the gal behind the counter walked away without saying anything to finish ordering her TACO PLATE! When she returned a couple minutes later, no apology. She checked me out without even acknowledging the incident. boys, if you want to impress your girlfriends, buy her something from blue windows. sure, the candles are obscenely expensive for some smelly wax, but wow, is it fragrant. you're engulfed in grapefruit lemongrass heaven the minute you walk in. don't underestimate the powers of aromatherapy. they have beautiful and unique letterpress cards and wrapping paper, including a good selection of snow & graham, coffee table cookbooks because who would want to bring them into the kitchen and get food on the pretty pictures, and nice handmade jewelry--all great gift items for some lucky girl. every now and then i find some hip piece of clothing on their sale rack/table for a pretty good price. read more

They also had a bunch of other eclectic jewelry with quotes and words that I just loved...
